  • Is There a Replacement Spindle For a Dexter D44, 4400LB Trailer Axle?
My recommendation is to replace your axle with a 5,200lb like # e55SR as the 4,400lb spindle is so uncommon they are not readily available. This will give you stronger components to lessen the chance of you having to replace a spindle in the future. If you can provide me with the dimensions for your axle I can verify the correct replacement for your D44 axle. The #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU74FR while similar has a narrower diameter of 1-1/16" for the outer bearing where a 4,400lb uses...

  • Troubleshooting EZ Lube Initial Grease Leaking Out Rear Grease Seal
If you have grease coming out the rear seal, you have a bad seal or the incorrect size seal size. The EZ lube spindles will allow you to see grease out the front with the rear seal intact if your seals are working properly as you stated. I've attached a video of the installation of the EZ lube hub # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K to help.

  • Replacing Damaged Axles and Spindles on a Yacht Club Trailer
In order to determine which replacement axles you need, I will need a few measurements. I will need hub face to hub face measurement, spring center to center dimension, inner and outer wheel bearing reference number, and the axle capacity. Take a look at the diagram I included. Regarding replacement spindles, you will want to use a dial caliper to measure the dimensions of your spindle for me to recommend a new one. The spindle measurements are labeled A through F, please view the diagram...

  • What Spindle Works with the Kodiak Disk Brake Assembly # K1HR35D?
For the Kodiak Disc Brake Assembly - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K1HR35D, you need a Dexter #84 Spindle like the #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 2" Diameter # TRU24FR or the #84 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Brake Flange for 3,500-lb Trailer Axle - 1-3/4" Diameter # TRU74FR. It is important to note that the spindle must be welded perfectly square onto the axle. If the spindle is even slightly lopsided, you will not have an even wheel surface for the trailer. We here...

  • Hub for E-Z Lube Spindle on Boat Trailer
In order to determine if hub assembly 8-258-50UC1-EZ will work for you, first know that this assembly is for EZ Lube spindles that require a grease seal with a 1-1/2" inner diameter such as # RG06-020. You are also going to want to remove the hub and take a look at the bearing numbers to make sure your inner and outer bearings are # L44649. Normally that would be enough, but since you sanded the spindle, I also recommend you use a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 and measure the spindle...

  • How to Determine Hub and Spindle Size
The spindle dimensions are as follows: A is the mounting dimension, B is the seal dimension, C is the inner bearing surface, D is the outer bearing surface and E is the diameter of the threaded portion of the spindle for spindle nut selection. Say you need a spindle and hub for a wheel with 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and an axle that is 3500 lbs. For a single axle trailer you can use two of either the item # TRU64FR, if your axle is round or item # TRU47FR if your axle is square. Then...

All of our trailer spindles are shown on the linked page, but none of these has a stub end to fit 2 x 3-inch tubing. All are either round like # TRU74FR or square like # TRU47FR. For a fabrication project like yours a better solution may be a bolt-on axle-less suspension kit from Timbren, such as # A12RS440, which is rated for 1200-lbs and which includes idler hubs with the 4-on-4-inch bolt pattern. Bearings, races and seals are included with hub. All Timbren axle-less kits and beam axle...

  • Can I Change a 5 on 4-1/2 Drum With A 5 on 5 Drum For A Trailer With 3,500 lb Axles
As long as the drums have the same weight capacity as the axles that you are putting them on then there should be no problems there. If you don't already have the 5 on 5 drums that you are asking about, I recommend using the E-Z Lube Hub and Drum Assembly # 84556UC3-EZ. It has the E-Z lube cap on the end of the drum so if you have E-Z-lube axles it makes greasing your axles easier. It also works great with axles that do not have the E-Z lube option. Since you are taking the 5 on 4-1/2...

I wasn't able to find anything in regard to a replacement part for your TDE 11029C hub assembly, but if you can pull your hub and either look for bearing/grease seal parts numbers or measure the different locations on your spindle then I can see if something matches. To measure your spindle, you'll want to use a digital caliper and measure the locations in the attached photo to the 3rd decimal (1.234 for example). • Replacement Axle Spindle for Dexter P21-SLR with 76 Inch Spring Seats and 44649 and 68149 Bearings
I reached out to Dexter and they no longer make that axle. I can confirm based on the bearing sizes you gave that you have a 3,500 lb capacity. If you determine you just want to replace the hub, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84546UC3 or # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K if you have the grease zerk integrated in the spindle. • Can Electric Brakes Be Installed On One of The 3,500-Lb Axles of a Tandem Axle Utility Trailer
I would first check with the laws in your state as far as how many brakes are required for the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your tandem axle trailer. Some states require brakes on both axles of a tandem axle trailer. If brakes are allowed on one axle I would recommend to put them on the front axle since that is the axle that will be bearing the most weight of the trailer. Also, when stopping the trailer, the weight of the trailer will be shifting to the front axle more than the...

  • Replacement Spindle For A 2000 Extreme Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
Hey Ted, It unfortunately doesn't look like we offer a comparable spindle to the measurements you provided. If you can't find a replacement somewhere else and end up having to replace the axle then you'll want to measure from hub face to hub face and from center to center of the leaf springs. If you can send me these measurements I can look for a suitable replacement. This would also likely require you to replace the hubs as well since it would come with a different spindle.

  • Can Trailer Axle Spindle be Replaced
You can replace the spindle of your axle but you would need to know the axle capacity to pick out the correct one. For a 3,500 lb axle the correct spindle would be the part # TRU74FR or if you have a 5.2k to 7k axle you'd want the part # TRU37FR.
