E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Have not mounted on trailer yet, but test fitted. Exact fit part for 3500 lbs Road King boat trailer. All parts included as described on etrailer's website. One of the benefits from ordering with etrailer are the "how to" videos and their "ask an expert" forum.

Jesse did a great job on helping me out with the right spindle, hub assembly. Service is top of the line. Had my items in two days. I will recommend etrailer to my friends.

by:

Ordered the hub and recipe it very quickly. They provided a video for reference on installation. It was very well made and easy to install. Very pleased with it, but the best part was the customer service. The old hub and bearings were so destroyed that I couldn’t get any numbers off of it. The lady from etrailer stayed on the phone and helped me research it until we found the right hub and bearings!!! In the end it was exactly what I needed and as happy as I am with the product, I’m more happy about the friendly and knowledgeable customer service they provided!!! Highly recommend the company and the products they sell!!!!

by:

Fantastic service and the shipping has always been on time and the parts show up as they are shown on the pages. Very well run company!

by:

Good quality part. Fit my pontoon boat trailer just right. No problems.

by:

We love these hubs. We’ve installed many of these and have had great results. We also like the real hot dipped galvanized finish for our salt/ brackish environment. They hold up far better than painted or “galv coated” products. The price is consistently good and they get to us quickly. Also love that free shipping over $100.

by:

Couldn't be more satisfied! I change from 5 on 5 to 5 on 4.5. I've been rolling on these hubs about 2500 miles. Every time I jack up the trailer I spin the tire, smooth as ever. Thankx LSD

Comments
1 year - 35k miles Im still very happy with the set of idler and brake hubs, bearings are still rolling smooth. I only use 1 type of grease Lucas RedNTacky2, about every 1k miles pull the rubber plug, 1/2 pump of grease not too much or youll blow the seal! Most common problem people have! Ill be buying another set for the trailer Im building. Keep making people happy, Thankx LSD

Would have given 5 stars but... product damaged due to inadequate packing the bubble wrap bag is not enough to protect the somewhat fragile grease covers from the weight of the two hubs. and one arrived too damaged for me to use. Also the product a bit more expensive than what can be found for an apparently similar product from other sites. But I went with etrailer because I have had great past experiences.

Comments
Sorry to hear about the damage. Customer Service will be reaching out to you. We also have a lowest price pledge that you can read through and possibly get a better deal:

Good product, Fit my older non- "easy grease" spindle perfectly. (Was told and found to be true, as long as the bearing numbers were the same)

by:

Easy installation and performs great on my trailer. Very pleased.

by:

Quality hub with all the fixin's Easy to order and received quickly.

by:

This is a good company to order from. Extremely low price on the item I ordered, prompt delivery and very helpful and knowledgeable customer rep. that I talked with before I placed my order. She had all and more of the information that I needed for my part. Will recommend to others and will order in the future when needed.

by:

Everything good quality everything fits was half the price of locals and recieved in 3 days Thanks

by:

Great parts, easy to assemble with the video help. Always a simple transaction when dealing with etrailer, it’s why I keep coming back!

by:

Thank you for your assistance with my purchase of new hubs for my boat trailer. They are exactly as described and they fit perfectly on my trailer. I am attaching a few photo's of the hubs installed. I would recommend your company to everyone who needs hubs........EXCELLENT SERVICE.

Great product! Great customer service!

Good quality for the price

FIRST CLASS AND TIMELY SUPPORT! I ordered a hub for my boat trailer on a Saturday. After placing the order I received an email from George on the same day letting me know it was backordered but there was a similar one in stock available to ship right away. As it's the end of boating season in the Northeast that was extremely valuable info. I let him know I'd like to change. Then Amy picked up the change order and processed everything. Got the hub 3 days later, fixed the trailer and pulled the boat. Oh yeah, the video instruction was awesome. Love doing business with eTrailer.com!

by:

Top notch service and communication thank you

by:

My items were supposed to arrived on Friday but I did not receive them until Monday. I wanted to put my trailer back together over the weekend so I could go out on Sunday. That didn't happen. Departure what I needed and the shipping was fast. Thank you

by:

Nice, clean solid product. Easy install and quick delivery.

Great price and easy to install. I used this part in place of the Kodiak part and found the galvanizing better on the E-trailer part. I'd splurge for stainless nuts.

Comments
1 year out now and still very satisfied. The galvanizing is excellent and EZ lube is great. I just squirt some in occasionally until it runs fresh out the front and couldnt be easier.

  • Can You Switch From Hubs/Drums to Idler Hubs On a Boat Trailer with 3,500 Lb Axle
It is certainly possible to switch from hubs/drums to idler hubs on a trailer axle. For a boat trailer with 3,500 lb axle(s), the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K or part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K for EZ-Lube would be just what you need. There would be no need for a new spindle either.

There are however numbers stamped onto the hub most times which can be used for identification.
