The # TRU77FR spindle accepts a 3 inch axle beam, and the spindle is designed to be welded into place. If the axle tube is painted on the ends, you'll want to take the tubing down to bare metal so you get the proper penetration on your weld.

  • Why Is There No # 84 Drop Spindle Available?
2" drop spindles are not common which is why they're not available. Your only option is going with the 4" drop version # TRU87FR, or trying to come up with a way to make a non-drop #84 spindle # TRU77FR work for your application. Spindles like these are really for custom fabrication shops to use as needed, so you'll want to have these welded on by a qualified welder, and can take it to a fabrication shop to see if they can turn one into a 2" drop spindle for your application as well.

  • How To Tell If Spindle Is Overloaded
It depends on how many axles you have. If you have two axles then yes it would be overloaded because that would be 7,000 pounds. If you have three axles you would be fine. Depending on what your bolt pattern is I would go up in axle capacity and put on a new axle like The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327816. Changing the spindle would not help. The axle is 5,200 pounds and has an inner bearing # 25580 and an outer bearing # LM67048. The axle is 86-1/2 inches hub-face-to-hub-face...

  • Replacing The Electric Brakes On A 1965 Streamline Empress
That is a very neat trailer! I am happy to try and help you along. With an axle that old, it may prove very difficult to find parts that are directly compatible. A lot of parts they used back then are more or less obsolete now. A majority of the electric bake kits we sell will use either a 4 or 5 bolt flange. We do not offer any brakes that use a 6 bolt flange. That said we may still have some options for you. We do offer replacement spindles with a pre welded brake flange like part #...

  • Recommendation for Upgrading Brakes on Tow Dolly
I do not have enough information to know what you have and if that old most likely will be challenging to locate replacement parts. My suggestion is to remove and replace the entire axel assembly. I suggest trying to first identify the current axel weight rating and manufacturer by looking for markings on the axel itself. • Does 5 on 5-1/2 Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Fit 3,500 lb #84 E-Z Lube Spindle
It does! The #84 spindle and Dexter idler hub you asked about with a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern absolutely work together. The hub uses the same bearings and grease seal that fit the spindle, which is why they are compatible. The two part numbers are the following: - Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 5-1/2 # 84555UC1-EZ - #84 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Brake Flange for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # TRU77FR As for the hubs, they are sold individually, so you will need...

  • How to Remove a Hub From a Trailer Spindle
To remove a hub from an axle, you will need to first remove the grease cap on the end of the hub. This will expose the end of the spindle. Once at this point, you will need to see if you have an EZ-Lube spindle, like # TRU77FR, or a standard spindle, like # TRU57FR. If you have the standard spindle, there will be a castle nut threaded onto the end of said spindle that is locking a fairly large washer in place. This will be locked in place by a cotter pin, like # 165649. These will all...

  • Will Kodiak Disc Brake Kit Fit a #84 Standard Spindle
In the answer page you're referring to Conner didn't say the hub face to brake flange is useless. He said measuring from brake flange to brake flange (from one side to the other) isn't really helpful when choosing a replacement axle. The 2 most important measurements are hub face and spring center distances. With that being said, the replacement spindles # TRU77FR and # TRU74FR will have matching distance from the hub face to the brake flange because they are both modern #84 spindles so...

  • Solution for Replacement Spindle and Hub and Drum Assembly for 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 28BHSW
I do have a solution, but we do not have an axle that matches your 86" measurement. Since you only damaged the spindle it makes more sense to replace the spindle instead of the entire axle. You can take the # TRU77FR to an axle shop and have it welded on to repair what you currently have. For a hub and drum you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K. This matches your current bolt pattern and drum size and is compatible with E-Z lube axles.

  • How to Add New Grease on Spindle With Zerk Fitting
It sounds like you have an E-Z Lube spindle on your axle like the # TRU77FR with the zerk fitting on the end. When adding grease like the # L11390 the old grease will be pushed out. Once you see the new grease begin to flow out of the end you can remove your grease gun. Wipe off any excess and replace your grease cap plug.
