Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

The hub and drum assembly came with inner and outer bearing pre-installed ( as per my request) from Alex at etrailer. All the parts needed to assemle were there and made installation easy.

by:

One of the brakes was missing half the adjuster. One drum was correct 5 on 41/2 the other was a 5 on 5 1/2. I used etrailer instead of [online product] thinking I would get a better product and all the parts would be correct. Turns out, I was wrong.

I loved the way the new parts helped my trailer tow. It was smoother and more secure. I have now sold this trailer but when I need new equipment I will seek the same parts
Keith - 07/31/2018

by:

I ordered these hubs/drums as a pair, they included the bearings, races, seals, lug nuts and dust caps. They had a painted coating on the outside to prevent corrosion and they bolted right up. I would recommend.

by:

Like that this came pre-greased with new bearings and seal.

by:

Our racing season almost came to a quick halt when my Haulmark trailer had a bearing explode, taking out the hub. I found e-trailer by accident and ordered a complete hub and bearing kit. The price was amazing, the quality was amazing and to top it off the company upgraded the shipping and I had it in two days! I am impressed with not only the quality but all the information on the website to include the videos and tech tips. Because of the experience, I have decided to add new bearings and hubs all the way around. Well done!! Off to the drags that I did not think we would be attending this weekend!

Shipping was super fast and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. I’ll definitely be a return customer when working on my other trailers in the future. Thanks for the great service

When I need parts from now on for the TT, It etrailer.com for me!! Thanks Gene

by:

I needed to upgrade the brake system on my boat trailer. I found the company that made the surge brakes had gone out of business. I found etrailer and bought everything I needed to convert to electric brakes. The pieces arrived quickly with great instructions, everything fit as it was supposed to, and the whole system works beautifully.
Great company to work with. A+ in my book.

I hate to say it but sometimes bying online is a downer. Everyhting i bought from here has been perfect. Even the wheels still look like new. GREAT STUFF!

by:

Worked perfectly on an older trailer, and fit right over the brake assembly.

by:

Called on Saturday morning, delivered on Wednesday, talked to
korren about what I might need, as trailer was 15 years old and never had to replace brakes. Axle tag was unreadable. Trailer has about 30 thousand miles, all long haul, but well maintained. Told her what I was after or thought I might need. Yup, I will ck got back to me in phone call, said what I needed. I like the way etrailer is able to answer your questions by a real person or reading reviews. Thanks again.

by:

Knew it was the right part because the bearing and seal numbers matched. Worked perfectly. Happy with the quality. I also bought the seal setting tool which was a good idea.

by:

they have a fantastic customer service system and knowledgeable people who help you solve problems in a very short time. I've received my parts and have yet to use them but they look well assembled and I am happy with them thus far.

by:

Product was as said, seems to be of good quality and has everything besides the Carter pin and washer. I did ground shipping and got it in approx 4 days. Price is amazing mechanics charge me 250 for parts and labor now it’s only 50-100 for labor.

by:

Very impressed!!! Quick shipping and very reasonable priced. I would definitely share this site with my friends. Etrailer will be my first choice when it comes to my trailer parts.

by:

Ronald was very very knowledgeable and Tony professional, and help me out extremely a lot

by:

  • Difference between etrailer.com Hub/Drums AKHD-545-35-K and AKHD-545-35-EZ-K
You are correct. The only difference between the two hubs you mentioned # AKHD-545-35-K and # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K is the grease cap. The # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K has a rubber plug on the grease cap to allow for easy access to a zerk fitting on an EZ lube spindle whereas the # AKHD-545-35-K has a cap that does not have the plug.

  • Comparing the E-Z Lube Hubs to the Standard Hub Assemblies for Trailer Axles
The difference between the standard and EZ hubs is in the grease cap. For instance, the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K is the same hub, bearings, seal, and races as found in # AKHD-545-35-K but the grease cap is different. The grease cap is not only longer on the E-Z Lube Hubs but also has a rubber plug. The purpose of the length and the plug are to have enough room for and access to the grease zerk fitting integrated into E-Z lube axle spindles....

Most likely what you need is the part # AKHD-545-35-K as this matches the things you listed. This is a 3,500 lb hub/drum with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This fits the standard 3,500 lb axle spindle. You'll want to measure the spindle on your trailer to verify this. If the bearing surfaces are 1.378 for the inner diameter and then 1.063 for the outer bearing surface this would be what you need. Or if the bearing numbers are L68149 and L44649 that is the other way to verify this.
