Came as ordered, easy tracking will use etrailer again.

Product was received as ordered. The box with the hubs and spindles was soaking wet and product was exposed. One of the boxes with tire and rim was torn open on the back. No apparent damage to any of the product. Typical UPS delivery.

by:

Awesome customer service. This is my go to for trailer parts.

by:

GREAT REPLACEMENT PART

by:

The part is just what we needed. I would ask for better packing to assure parts don't get lost in shipping. I would also ask that there be a packing list included in the box for the receiving team to identify PO it belongs to.

by:

great price and they are working good. the unmachined side is about .015" over size so if your going to weld this in DOM tubing you need to grind or machine a little. Works really well, nice machine work on them

by:

The products don’t have any damage at all. We need to return it because they are the wrong size. Can you please let me know what do I have to do? Thanks

by:

The spindles themself are heavy and seem like good products but they were layed loose in box nothing keeping them from getting banged around in the box

  • Replacing 10x1-1/2 Inch Brake Assemblies with 10x2-1/4 Inch Brake Assemblies
As long as your spindles are 4.75 inches from seal to threading like # TRU24FR or # TRU57FR they are compatible. I've attached a photo to assist. You will be able to use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA. We do not carry a hub that will fit the bearings you referenced. My recommendation is to change your axle or at least your spindle to allow you to use standard hubs like # AKHD-545-35-K. This will require...

  • Spindle Dimensions For The #42 Spindle # TRU57FR
Hi J, The R50642 has slightly different dimensions when it comes to length when compared to the # TRU57FR. I've attached a little diagram below showing the lengths of each journal on the # TRU57FR. If you need anything else just let me know and I'd be happy to help.

  • Can Hub # 42660UC1 Be Converted To Fit a Spindle # TRU57FR?
You are either going to get a different Spindle # TRU57FR or Hub # AH60880FCOMP as there is not a set of bearings and races we carry to make the Hub # 42660UC1 fit on the Spindle # TRU67FR. Since you most likely already have the 6 on 6" wheels and tires it makes the most sense to change to the Spindle # TRU57FR and keep the Hub # 42660UC1.

  • Replacement Hub and Spindle For Trailer Using Tapered Spindle With Timken 24780 and 10183 Bearings
I do have a recommendation for you as we do not carry a hub which will work with your current spindle. Instead you can replace your spindles with the more commonly found #42 Spindle # TRU57FR. This will allow you to easily slide on a hub for a 6 on 5-1/2" Bolt Pattern # AKIHUB-655-6-K or one with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern # AKIHUB-865-7-2-K. Both these hubs include pre packed bearings, races and grease seals for easy installation.

  • Spindle With Same Dimensions as TRU37FR That Does not Have EZ Lube or Flange
There is the same spindle as # TRU37FR but is not EZ Lube and does not have a brake flange. What you are seeking is spindle # TRU57FR which is otherwise the same; I've added a link to a video review of this spindle for you to take a look at.

  • Replacement Spindle for 7,000 lbs Axle
We have the #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange for 5.2K to 7K Trailer Axles - 2-1/4" Diameter # TRU37FR and the #42 Spindle for 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Trailer Axles - 2-1/4" Diameter # TRU57FR which are both compatible with 7,000 lb axles. Both will measure 4 inches from the grease seal position to the threads. You can see this in the attached video at the 1:42 second mark. The difference between these is the zerk fitting and the brake flange. The spindle dimensions will be identical.

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Spindle Based on Measurements
I can tell you how to determine the correct spindle based on your measurements, and what you will need is a digital caliper, though the first thing you need to know is the weight rating of your trailer axle. From there, what you need to do is measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride, along with the length and diameter of your stub. For example, the accompanying diagram shows the measurements of the #42 Spindle for 5,200 lb to 7,000 lb Trailer...

  • Compatibility of Redline Replacement Axle Spindles with Dexter Hubs
TruRyde Spindles are indeed compatible with Dexter hubs, if the spindle is matched properly with the bearings your hub uses. To find the correct spindle, match the inside diameter of your inner bearing, outer bearing and grease seal to the dimensions of the bearing surface of the spindle, as shown in the photo I provided. You'll also need to match the weight capacity of the spindle with that of the axle.

  • Why Do Some Spindles Use Cotter Pins and Others Use a Tang Washer?
The #42 Spindle # TRU57FR does come with a Standard Washer # SW1000, Cotter Pin # 165649, and Castle Nut # 165686 to secure the hub to the spindle. The D-Washer # 5-23 and Tang Washer # 5-101 were created to allow for a Grease Zerk # LC44XV to fit the end of the spindle and allow you to grease the hub bearings without removing the hub. There are some versions using a grease zerk and cotter pin but those are more likely to not allow grease to reach the bearings as it can come out the cotter...

To verify if your hubs on your 6,000lb Dexter axles are going to fit the etrailer AxleTek 7,000LB Axle # e35GR you will need to verify what bearings and grease seals are used on your hubs. The new axles will use a #42 Spindle # TRU57FR, and this is the most common spindle used on the Dexter 6,000lb axles. The etrailer AxleTek uses Inner Bearing # 25580(ID 1.750"), Outer Bearing # 14125A(ID 1.250") and Grease Seal # GS-2250DL(ID 2.250", OD 3.376"). The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly...

  • How to Remove a Hub From a Trailer Spindle
To remove a hub from an axle, you will need to first remove the grease cap on the end of the hub. This will expose the end of the spindle. Once at this point, you will need to see if you have an EZ-Lube spindle, like # TRU77FR, or a standard spindle, like # TRU57FR. If you have the standard spindle, there will be a castle nut threaded onto the end of said spindle that is locking a fairly large washer in place. This will be locked in place by a cotter pin, like # 165649. These will all...

  • Recommended Replacement Spindles for a Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly W/ a 6 on 6 Bolt Pattern
Hey Steve, the #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # TRU64FR is not going to work with the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 6,000-lb Axles # 42660UC1. You'd actually want to use either the #42 Spindle for 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU57FR or the #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange for 5.2K to 7K Trailer Axles # TRU37FR for an E-Z lube spindle. What kind of trailer are you hauling? If there is anything else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know.
