Specs:
This light has an industry-standard PL-3 connection as pictured above. The light accepts a 3-prong plug (sold separately).
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Today we're taking a look at a Peterson LED Trailer Tail Light. This is an oval trailer tail light that serves three functions, such as your turn signal light, tail light and brake light. Now, this is an LED unit. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer. They burn brighter.
They're more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. We have a nice red lens with a black base, so it has the black flange. It is a recessed-mount installation with the built-in mounting flange. That's a really nice design. Mounting hardware not included.
This is designed to fit in a 6-3/4" long hole measure 2-1/2" this direction. Now, we can tell that because right here printed, or labeled, on the actual flange, it says, slotted hole size 6.75" by 2.50". Again, this is designed to mount inside of a hole that measures 6-3/4" by 2-1/2". It accepts an industry standard three pronged plug which is sold separately and available at etrailer.com.It's Department of Transportation compliant. It meets FMVSS108 requirements for automotive lighting.
It features a nice sealed design so it's protected from the elements. The product is made in the USA. When it comes to the overall dimensions, we'll take a look at those and then we'll hook it up to power. Edge to edge going in this direction, measures about 7-7/8". Edge to edge going in this direction is about 3-5/8".
The lens going in this direction measures 2-1/4" by 6-1/2". The mount holes, side to side are separated apart from one another on center, by 4". Going in this direction, they're separated on center by 3".All right, we're going to go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it, and then we'll turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. This is the taillight function. Then when we apply the brakes, the signal output increases. Does that same thing when we activate our turn signals. Now, it contains a total of seven diodes, or seven LEDs, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. Also, LEDs have a much faster response time when compared to incandescent. The rated input voltage is 9 volt to 16 volt DC.That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson LED Trailer Tail Light.

Easy instillation and very bright. But you must be very thorough that you have the right sized grommet for the hole in the bed or trailer AND for the light you are using. Not all grommets are the same as with trailers and flat beds so make sure that you double check the hole size both ways of the bed and the light to minimize head aches when you go to install. 854072
