Question:
I am looking for an idler hub assembly with a bolt pattern of 5 by 4.5 for an 1991 ranger trail trailer 3500 weight capacity. It is a straight spindle with the same bearing front and back bearing number as follows - L68149. Any help would be appreciated. Stewart

Hey there Steward, unfortunately none of our vendors offer a hub with the inner and outer bearings both being L68149. This is a very uncommon setup, typically on some older marine trailers like you have there. The only solutions would be to:
1.) somehow find a hub that matches those specs elsewhere (I researched quite a bit and could not find anything at all), maybe a shop that specializes in marine applications and Ranger boat trailers would be a good place to call on.
2.) cut off your spindle and weld on a more common modern setup.
3.) replace the entire axle which is typically less labor and around the same cost.
If you want to go with option 2 or 3 (hopefully you get lucky and don't have to), then you'll need to get some specs and measurements ready so we can match up some parts for you. You'll need measure your current spindle and see how long it is.
For example, based on your capacity and lug pattern, you should be able to use #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU74FR or #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU77FR if you went the spindle replacement route, but this does require a custom trailer shop typically. Then you could use Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K.
