Review from a similar Dump and Hydraulic Charger in Battery Charger

This is s 5 amp float charger; just right for a dump trailer or camper battery. The built in “check charge” button & LED display is a nice feature. Pair it up with a 100 watt solar panel & you can put your worries behind you about always having a fully charged battery when you are ready to go.

Review from a similar Dump and Hydraulic Charger in Battery Charger

They aren't fancy, but they work, and that's what matters. Just received 3 of these for 3 dump trailers that we are always fighting dead battery issues with. Hopefully, the trailers will stay plugged up any time they are not in use to keep the batteries charged up and ready to go for their next use as the 12v circuit from the 7-way isn't enough. They don't do maintenance cycles, they don't do all the intricate things the more expensive chargers do, but that's okay. As long as they keep our batteries topped off and able to dump without spending untold amounts of money on jumper cables every few months.

Ask the Experts about this Bright Way Battery Charger

  • What Are the Dimensions of the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer
    The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer - 12 Volt # BRW54FR is 9" long x 10-1/2" wide x 1/8" deep.

  • Can I Use My Batteries While Charging With The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger?
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR has a one way diode to prevent it from draining your battery. The electricity will flow one way and one way only. As far as over charging goes, my co-worker had this charger on his enclosed trailer ALL WINTER LONG to charge his two 6V batteries and it did not overcharge them. I don't see there being any overcharging issues at all. Your batteries will be safe with this charger. I've used the NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger # 329-GENIUS5...

  • Solar Panel Battery Charger
The perfect solution is the Bright Way # BRW54FR Solar Battery Charger. Small, cost effective, versatile and easily up to the job. I personally installed this charger on my trailer last October and it kept the batteries (two 6-volt, 235 Amp Hour) topped off all winter long. Lots of options for installation. Comes with it's own inline charge controller. Just hook up to batteries - face towards sun - all done.

  • Will the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Work with Group 27 Batteries
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger part # BRW54FR will work on a group 27 battery as they are 12 volt and meet the 5 or more amp hour minimum. Please note, this won't charge a battery from dead but rather make sure it stays topped off.

  • Can BRW77FR Be Wired To The Battery In Conjunction With A Solar Charger
The problem to watch out for, is not the voltage, it's the current (cfm). If your battery recommends 30a max charge current and both of your chargers are rated at 15a, you're good to use them both at the same time. If your chargers are both 30a units, then you could damage your battery. Since both the Solar # BRW54FR and wall charger # BRW77FR are 7.5 Watts I don't see there being an issue. The wall charger has a cut off when the batter is fully charged and the solar will maintain the the...

  • Portable Solar Panel Charger for Charging RV Batteries During Day
That amount of amperage/wattage that the two charger kits you mentioned are capable of really wouldn't be adequate to charge a depleted battery. Especially in a day as they are more designed to keep a battery topped off in storage more than anything. These both can put out up to 7.5 watts. You'd want something with more output than that like the Goal Zero Boulder Briefcase Kit part # 287-32408 which is rated for 100 watts.

  • Recommended Way to Charge my Trailer's Breakaway Battery
Both the CTEK US 0.8 Universal Battery Charger with Pulse Maintenance part # CTEK56865 and the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer part # BRW54FR would work well for this application. I prefer the solar option as it wouldn't require shore power. As an alternative I would instead use just the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger part # 20400. Since you're already going to be installing a breakaway kit why not one with a built...

  • Winch Boat Hoist and Charging Recommendations For Marine Applications
I recommend using a winch with a synthetic rope. Since you'll be by the water when using this winch, it won't rust over time. This winch # BDW15018 has 3,400 lbs of capacity so it should be plenty for what you need. I use a Optima Marine battery for any application needing a 12V battery. These are the best in my experience. Since this winch has a 12V motor, I recommend using an optima marine 12V. Since you're boating, I presume that it will be at least overcast out and not storming,...

  • How Do I Keep My Trailers Break Away Battery Charged When In Storage?
For maintaining your trailer battery I recommend using a Duracell Battery Charger and Maintainer # DU87FR. This will plug into a standard wall outlet and charge/maintain your battery to help extend the battery life. If you park your trailer where you do not have easy access to power the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR can be used to charge the battery. This can be mounted to part of the trailer and is also easily removable with the 2 prong in line plug. If you store your...

  • I Need a Battery To Operate The Jacks On My Slide In Truck Camper
I recommend a Bright Way Deep Cycle RV Battery # BRW34FR. This AGM battery is sealed and does not require the maintenance of a traditional lead acid battery. When not in use it is important to provide a battery charge maintainer to ensure the battery voltage does not drop to low. A Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR will provide up to 7.5 watts of charge from the sun. • Shore Power Battery Charging For Brake System & Accessories
You'll need to run the wires from the charger directly to your battery # HM20008. If it were my trailer, I would get a charger like this # BRW54FR because it's FREE energy!! This one is a trickle charger putting out about 7.5 watts which is good for any battery with 5 amp hours or more. It can go on the side of the trailer where your battery is so the wiring won't go from one end of the trailer to the next. It's also pretty low profile so it's not an eye sore. That being said, you should...
