The Thule TracRac TracONE truck bed ladder rack is built for serious work and play, handling up to 800 lbs of evenly distributed weight. That means it easily carries ladders, lumber, or long gear like kayaks and canoes. The over-cab height design gives you the clearance you need for oversized items while keeping your truck bed open for everything else.

This rack mounts using heavy-duty aluminum clamps, so there’s no drilling into your truck. Each upright base is held in place by two C-clamps that tighten down for a solid connection. Once the bases are clamped on, the uprights and crossbars bolt together for a sturdy, one-time setup that you can remove later if needed.

Made from 6000-series aluminum, the rack is exceptionally strong yet lightweight, so it doesn’t cut into your payload. The dual-stage matte black powder coat and clear coat protect against corrosion, scuffs, and scratches. That finish also keeps the rack looking sharp after years of hauling in all kinds of weather.
Each 65" x 4" x 1-1/2" crossbar has integrated slots on the top and bottom that let you mount and adjust accessories anywhere along the bar. Four heavy-duty aluminum load stops are included and slide in the channels to hold cargo in place. The crossbars also work with channel-mounted accessories for kayaks, rooftop tents, and other gear.

The elliptical crossbars are shaped to cut through wind, reducing drag and noise compared to square or round bars. Built-in airfoil trip strips shield the slots from airflow, so you don’t get the whistling sound that’s common with open-channel designs. The result is a rack that stays stable and quiet mile after mile.

Solid rack good build all the parts were well made. Easy install and works with cross the bed toolbox just had to make a spacer out of metal strap and it looks great. Best price going on etrailer, I'm using it with a crago rack for snowboarding and a vertical mount for mountain bikes.
This is a constructed, great looking rack that is easy to assemble too. etrailer.com’s customer service is exceptional; prompt responses to questions with helpful information and suggestions and they are knowledgeable about the products they offer. Very satisfied with this rack and other purchases I have made with them.
Install was simple. Did not use the clamps that came with it. Bolted to bed instead. Crossbody too box sits on top of front rails. Bought the tool box mounting accessory kit and used the shims that came with that to level the crossbody box.
Bought this Thule rack to go with a pair of Thule Hullavators. It was the perfect rack to fit our needs. Thanks to etrailer.com for their help in selecting the best rack to fit our needs.
Great product. Great service. Great price. Every time!!
I am very pleased with my purchase. The assembly of the TracRac was not difficult and the install on my truck was fairly easy. I used it last weekend to haul my kayak as well as my wife’s kayak while pulling our camper. The rack made it possible for us to haul our 12 foot kayaks with ease.
Great product, easy install, easy to follow instructions. My only complaint is: getting tool box mounting kit and there is no option for getting black hardware. Who would think I wouldn't mind silver clamps with my black rack, black tool box, ladder that I painted black? Black running boards, mirrors and handles changed out from factory. I painted them, but wish I didn't need to after paying I think around $600 for the 2 products combined. They should look at sending the tool box kit to powder coat. It's literally the exact same clamp with a hole drilled and threaded in it.
I received my product quickly. I was very pleased with the quality and instructions. I installed this on my truck that also has an in-bed tool box.
Although the install instructions were easily understood it would be very helpful to have another set of hands.
I do have a suggestion w/ref to the excellent hardware supplied. Unfortunately I found in several instances I experienced difficulty because there was paint in the internal threaded areas. This I was able to overcome by using the correct tap to clear the internal threads.
I love it.
My grandson and I just put it on yesterday 06-13-2026. I am very pleased with it! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because those bolts were very hard to turn. I totally recommend getting a bit for your drill instead of using Hex Keys.
The racks are great. Good quality and easy to install. They are perfect for wood, pipe, kayaks, etc. What I forgot to take into account is that modern high efficiency AC condensers and heat pumps are pretty tall and may not fit under the rear rack. But I think I have a work around where I can loosen the bolts on the rear cross bar, take off the end cap and slip it to one side. This at least allows me to leave the supports bracketed in place. The process might take 10 minutes slipping it to the side and putting it back. And i can always have equipment delivered. Point is, I should have given more consideration to a traditional work rack with a removable rear “headache” bar. etrailer sells a lot of nice ones. I’ll stick with these for now though. They look great and work great.

I appreciate you giving your honest feedback and what you might've changed if you could go back and do it again - It's definitely something to keep in mind for other shoppers and I'm sure they also thank you for the heads up :)
I love this ladder rack so much I originally bought in 2019 when I started my business. Just recently it got damaged due to someone hitting my ladders/rack I was very upset but luckily I was able to buy the exact same rack!! Best rack ever!!
Installed on my Ford F250 Super Duty. Excellent construction, takes about one hour to assemble with just a few tools. Instructions are good, and all parts were in the box. Looks/fits fine on my truck. The rack is about 1" taller than the cab roof. Flat items like ladders, lumber, rigid pipe will clear, but flexible items like PVC or plywood may touch the top of the cab when travelling. I purchased this unit to transport kayaks when we travel on vacation. Canoes/kayaks clear fine if transported right-side up (as they are flat on the bottom) . But I load them upside down for better wind and noise control, and the 'tip' of the boat will just touch the top of the cab. I easily fixed this by getting a few 4"-5" stainless hose clamps at Lowe's, and a piece of 2x4, and clamp that to the front bar. Not a hill for a stepper.
The clamps I recieved do not fit the 2025 Tacoma.
With the rails removed from the Tacoma, the clamping pads are too wide to slide into place
Rack was a good fit for my 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and is solidly constructed and easy to install. Expensive but probably worth the money. No problem at all with black powder coating in screw threads, which many other reviewers complain about. I bought the Thule aero rack pads at the same time. They do not fit the rack properly and I’m disappointed that etrailer did not question the order and offer advice.

Products are good and solid for my purposes. The black coating on two of the mounting brackets blistered and flaked off within 9 months and the aluminum underneath began quickly to corrode. Contacted Thule, who were very helpful and quickly replaced the two brackets under warranty. It is surprisingly difficult to find good quality pads that fit these wide racks.
I will have to say the C clamps screw holes were powder coated. They didn’t cover the holes before they powder coated, and there is eight clamps!! Took me a very long time to get those screws through…
Very happy with this rack. We have 4 different Thule racks on our trucks, and this one is the strongest of the 800 lb racks.
Love the black TracTac for my GMC Sierra

The TracRac is perfect for ladders, kayaks, lumber
The clamp blocks had to be tapped since the threads were coated with paint. Everything went together as planned. I reccommend using the optional tools for assembly. Using an Allen Wrench was time consuming and difficult since all of the hardware is locking.
Rack is sturdy and well built. Took less than an hour to assemble and install. Maximum height of rack does not clear the top of the cab of a 2016 Ford F-350 SD Crew Cab. If you want to carry a kayak it will require foam blocks or Malone kayak saddles made for the Tracrac(not carried by etrailer). You can not carry a long ladder if used on this vehicle. Over all it is good rack though.

Still working great as a kayak rack using foam blocks.
The threaded holes in the clamps were powder coated, This required the thread be cleaned up or chased with a tap before they would accepted the bolts. Once this was done the bolts were accepted flawlessly. Otherwise great product and am pleased with the final outcome.
I love the utility. Very easy to secure loads and great capacity. Loses 1 star because the Allen screws used to secure it to the bed are difficult to tighten with a ratchet because they are quite close to the bed liner so the Allen socket ends up misaligned. Also, the pressure of the "clamp" style of mount distorts the composit bed top over time.
Fantastic experience from ordering to receiving my new Thule Trac Rac system. My package was delivered quickly and without any damage.
The installation instructions were clear and simple to follow. I’m very happy with my new rack system

The new rack looks awesome on your truck, Frank! What are you going to use it with?
Purchased TracRac for my 2020 f250. I carry a 28 foot ladder every day. So far so good. I would recommend it and would by another if needed.
