Features to know about

Quick Wheel Setup for 2,000-lb Axles: Complete Hub Assembly

Swapping hubs doesn’t need to turn into a parts chase. This Dexter idler hub comes complete with everything you need—inner and outer bearings (L44643), pre-installed races (L44610), grease seal (34823), grease cap, wheel bolts, and 1/2" lug nuts. It’s built for 2,000-lb axles with BT8 spindles and carries a 1,000-lb per hub capacity. The sturdy iron construction holds up well to steady loads, giving you a solid replacement without hunting for extra hardware.

Simple Fit on Straight 1" Spindles: Matches BT8 Setup

If your spindle measures 1" where both bearings ride, this hub’s a direct fit. The matching L44643 bearings (1" inner diameter) on both sides make it easy to confirm compatibility—no mixing sizes or guessing taper styles. With the included 1.249" x 1.983" grease seal, you get a snug fit that keeps grease in and grit out.

Reliable Mounting Every Time: 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern

The 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern is one of the most common setups out there, making wheel swaps straightforward. You can double-check your fit by measuring between bolt holes—2-5/8" from center to center means you’re good to go. Designed for 13" to 15" wheels and backed by Dexter’s precise machining, it keeps your wheel centered and secure mile after mile.

Built for Ongoing Use: Factory-Pressed Races and Iron Strength

Getting bearing races seated just right can be tedious. This hub eliminates the hassle with both L44610 races already pressed in at the factory. That saves time and helps prevent damage from misalignment. With a hub flange diameter of 6-1/2", the iron build provides lasting strength for regular towing, refurbishing older trailers, or keeping an emergency spare ready to roll.

  • Trailer wheels that are smaller than 15" and have 5 bolts, have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Just what I needed. these will be used on a trailer that will be pulled by a Jeep Wrangler TJ Sahara.
THANKS GEORGE

by:

etrailer.com did a great job, I emailed a few questions and they answered quickly. I ordered the hub over the weekend receiving an email that they received the order and it was in process, The hub shipped quickly with an email notification and arrived the next day with a second email that the package was waiting in my garage. Everything fit great and the trailer is rolling real nice now.

by:

Great service and product, everything exactly as advertised. The hubs are going to go on a BBQ grill that we are changing the wheel size from 8" to 15". It is unusual to find a company that provides the service and product quality level this company does, what a pleasure dealing with them.--Thank-you.

by:

I received my parts as described, and had no problems with them.

Thanks for the speedy shipping.

by:

Perfect replacement. Went from a 4 on 4 hubs to a 5 on 4 1/2.

by:

Installed on my 5x8 foot trailer ,it's been towed back and forth from PA. to WI. a few times had no trouble traveling 70 - 75 MPH. 1,200 miles one way

by:

First of all, I cannot say enough good things about the people who work at etrailer. I spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with them making sure I ordered the correct hub. I recieved it 4 days after I ordered it and it fit perfectly I was able to get it installed in about 15 minutes. Thanks Etrailer!!!

by:

Very happy with everything except for that after wasting a lot of time trying to get the grease caps on and still cannot! No matter what I did would not work so they are now in the trash and I need to buy new ones. That is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. Other then that I’m very satisfied but giving this a 1 because buying the complete unit it should all assemble together without problems.

by:

I ordered a hub for my trailer along with another part. The 2nd part was on back order which would have delayed my order. I needed the hub for a trip. George and team were great in revising and expediting my order. Hub arrived on time, good condition, fit perfectly.

by:

Parts arrived in 2 days & look good. All components are here, bearings, nuts cap etc. Everything looks 100% correct and will see about putting them on tomorrow. I am extremly satisfied with the on-line tech, delivery timing and cost. Thank you guys.
ps: (I put a "plug" in for you on my teardrop trailer sight.)

by:

Trailer hub came with everything needed ; dust cap did not work out - but, used old one !! Same GREAT service and material as always !! A +++

by:

Switched from a 4 lug rim to a 5 lug so I could run a larger tire, already had the rims but needed to change hubs. These hubs worker perfectly, they are of good quality and are well worth the price which is very reasonable. Order processing and shipment was very fast. I have no complains at all. Any parts I need in the future will be purchased from etrailer.com. Can't beat the service or product price. I highly recommend this retailer for your needs.

by:

Exactly what I needed, delivered promptly and at a competitive price point. I especially appreciated the lug pattern template to ensure what I ordered would fit the wheels I had.

by:

Excellent quality hub that fits perfectly. The tutorials and videos on etrailer really assisted me in picking the correct parts for my older trailer.

Excellent communications and customer service from etrailer, too! Thank you!

by:

Great product. Perfect fit and has performed without issue all summer. These were for a boat trailer so I'm dipping them in the water constantly. They just keep asking for more.

Thanks guys. You're a life saver.

by:

I ordered a set of hubs for my trailer. The package came quickly however, one of the seals was incorrect. I called etrailer and they sent a new seal out… It arrived in two days! Awesome service.

by:

Fast shipping everything listed and pictured is here and in good shape. I would have given 5 stars if the kit had come complete with a cotter pin. No fault of Etrailer as it was not in the parts list. I would just like to see a kit as a complete kit. Overall no complaints its a good deal and I hope to put many miles on it.

by:

You guys are the best! Excellent service and I couldn't be happier! Thank you!

by:

Good quality hub, good price, fast shipping. Came with lugs, all bearings, inner races installed, and a double lip marine type grease seal as well as a basic grease cap. The only thing I needed to provide was a cotter pin!

by:

I’m restoring and upgrading a 1980’s Dilly motorcycle trailer to make a 2800 mile road trip. The Dexter hubs with new bearings and races was a no brainer. More importantly Etrailer and their stellar customer service made this project so much easier to complete.

by:

20/20 hindsight tells me I made a bad decision when I got a 20% discount on a display model utility trailer from a large "big box" hardware store here in the Seattle area. Many of the parts were assembled incorrectly, some of the hardware was missing, and they'd adjusted the wheel bearings too tightly which ended up frying one of them and the associated bearing races just during the trip home. The bearing races were integral with the hubs and weren't servicable, so the hub was ruined. And, unfortunately, I didn't end up using the trailer for quite a while and didn't notice all this until after well the warranty had expired.

The trailer was manufactured by a Canadian company and they claimed that, due to US regulatory restrictions, they were currently unable to ship bearings or hubs to the United States. So much for our friends to the north.

Fortunately, the trailer axle was American made, and etrailer.com was able to provide me with everything I needed to make the trailer roadworthy; with higher quality parts and at less cost. And the hubs had lugs, as opposed to the originals with just threaded holes; which makes installing the wheels much easier.

What can I say? I'm now a fan of etrailer.com.

The product looks like it is well made. I wish it was already put together and greased. That would make it better. And the bearings are cheap [China-made] bearings, so I assume I will be replacing those soon. I guess it is okay for the price. That is why I gave it an average rating. Everything was as described and it fit perfectly, but that should be expected. I would recommend.

by:

The new hub and bearings/seals for the other one fit perfectly.Etrailer helped verify the sealI needed.Shipping was fast and I would recommend Etrailer to others.

After ordering from parts houses and getting expensive wrong grease seals, for my boat trailer, I found a websit e trailer, I called and talked to Jennifer, she knew what I needed right away, I ordered a hub with races, bearings, grease seals and lug nuts. Jennifer placed the order for me and with end two hours I was notified by email that my order was shipped. The third day my order was delivered to my door. No damage, was packaged very good. And was right parts. I will be using etrailer again. I recommend this co to my friends.

If you have a light boat trailer but want to get rid of the 12 inch wheels and upgrade to 13 or 14 you will need this larger hub in order to have the proper mounting surface for the wheels while keeping your 1 inch spindles. This kit has everything needed including larger lug nuts. This gives me piece of mind knowing my hubs, bearings, wheels, and tires are not straining to haul the load.

  • How to Determine Correct Hub For Harbor Freight Trailer For 13 Inch Wheel
Hello Andrei, There isn't an axle we can offer as there aren't any that small we have, but you may be able to get a different hub. I couldn't find the bearing sizes of that axle to find a new hub so you'll have to do a bit of measuring. For that you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper...

  • Fit of Wheel Mounting Pad on Face of Trailer Hub
Hi, it looks like you are using a hub centric wheel with a lug-centric hub. A hub centric wheel relies on the portion of the hub that extends through the wheel's pilot hole to provide the support. In this instance, it's not super-crucial that the mounting pad of the wheel sits perfectly flat against the hub face. With a lug centric wheel, it's VERY important that the wheel sits perfectly flat.
