If you want to haul more gear without upgrading your vehicle, this Curt Class III trailer hitch receiver gets it done. With a 2" x 2" opening, 4,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight, and 400 lbs maximum tongue weight, it’s built for everyday trailers, cargo carriers, and bike racks. The square-tube design gives you the strength and stability you need for towing small campers or utility trailers while keeping a clean look under the bumper.
You don’t need a lift or special tools to get this hitch on the road. It’s designed for a precise, custom fit that bolts straight to the frame — no welding required. All the mounting hardware and instructions come in the box, so you can handle the install in your own driveway. The precision robotic welding keeps everything lined up for an easy fit and long-lasting durability once mounted.
The fully welded steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base layer to stand up to weather, road grime, and corrosion. That sturdy finish means you can tow or haul year-round without worrying about rust eating away at your hitch. It’s heavy-duty enough for repeated use and built to stay looking solid through years of towing and outdoor trips.

It sounds like your hitch was slightly flexed in shipping. The good news is hitches are easy to flex back into place. I have attached a link for flexed hitches to help you.

ok I think the coating needs improvement there is rust that has formed on top of the hitch tube. after awhile I suspect this would become a safety issue.

The hitch has worked out very well. I must say that the hitch is much stronger than the Jeep on which it is mounted. I recently purchased a Swagman bicycle carrier from etrailer. As soon as weather permits, I will be loading my bike to check it out and will be doing a review on that product. Thus far, I am all smiles
