There are multiple ways to measure the length of an axle beam, but the hub-face-to-hub-face and spring-center-to-spring-center lengths are the most accurate. Hub face (A) refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle (when hubs are mounted on the beam).
The spring center (B) is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the seat on the other. This axle beam comes with the spring seats welded on.
If you are replacing your trailer's axle, you should be able to figure out which type you need by determining your trailer's capacity, the bolt pattern of your wheels, the brake type and the aforementioned lengths.
The E-Z Lube spindles on this axle are meant to work with E-Z Lube-compatible hubs to make lubricating your bearings quick and easy. Each E-Z Lube spindle has a zerk fitting on the end. And every E-Z Lube hub comes with a grease cap that has an easy-to-remove rubber plug. Just pop out the plug on the cap to access the zerk on the spindle. When you inject grease into the zerk with a grease gun, the grease will flow to both the inner and outer bearings of the hub, lubricating the bearings and forcing out old, ineffective grease. Once you see new grease beginning to be pushed out, you know that your bearings are fully lubricated. This means that you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
Dexters are made of high-strength steel and come with spindles and spring seats welded on. The spring seats are attached to the underside of the axle so that the leaf springs (sold separately) can mount beneath the axle. This axle is also built with drop spindles, which will lower the ride height of your trailer to allow for easier loading and unloading.
Each axle is manufactured to create a certain camber angle. This ensures that the angle of the wheels is correct for your towing needs. Because the primary concern when towing is maintaining controlled, in-line movement, each axle is made so that your trailer's tires will run along the pavement evenly, with contact across the width of the tread. The result is excellent straight-line acceleration for steady, in-line tracking. You might notice the bend near the center of the axle; this is what ensures the proper camber angle. Having the center ride a bit higher and the sides of the axle bent lower allows the axle to give just enough to compensate for the load.

E-Z Lube spindles make it easy to lubricate bearings (sold separately).I received the items in a very timely fashion and in great shape. I torched off the old U bolts and removed the axle. I removed the new spring seats using a cut off wheel in my grinder and moved them inward one inch on each side, then MIG weld the new ones on they lined up perfectly to the old ones. I then installed the new U bolt kit and torqued them down to 65 foot lbs. The old bearings were only one year old and reused them after cleaning. I installed new seals at this time. The brake pads were same age as bearings showing little wear. The old axles were not Dexter axles and rusted from the inside out then broke off by the drop.. I replaced both. Was a pleasant experience and would do it all over again.
Had to cut off the mounts and re-weld since it didn't fit my trailer perfectly. However it was the best option for me and the product was just as described.
I build custom trailers. I have been doing so for 50+ years. etrailer has consistently been the second cheapest supplier of axles, springs, hangers, hubs, and etc. that we have been able to locate. These axles are of excellent quality. They are a replacement for 3500lb axles which proved to light for my loads. I've bought trailer axles from etrailer in the past with great success and plan to buy additional to complete my trailer upgrades.

Your website told me to only verify the length after I put in specifics of my trailer. It arrived and my mechanic Saud it was the wrong one because I needed a drop style. Even though your website was wrong your customer service still made me pay for the return shipping. I have ordered from your company several times and this is the first time you shipped by the post office, everything has been UPS, if this is the way you are going to ship something this long and heavy through the post office, I will have to order form some other company next time I need something. I have dealt serval times ordering fishing rods and they were shipped by the post office and every time they came in damaged in some way so I will have to really give it a lot of consideration on ordering from your company again. Very dissapointed. I guess your claim on fast shipping may be true, but fast delivery is a joke.

etrailer decided to ship this 140lbs axle via US Mail. Scheduled delivery was in 5 days from date of order. Immediately after getting the USPS tracking I called and was on hold forever. I was told it was new people in shipping and my axle would arrive on time. A month later and numerous calls later, still no axle, my mail man said " no way would he would be delivering anything that size". I was then told I would get it refunded since it was lost in the mail. A month later, and several calls saying the refund was "processes" still no refund. Then I was told I'd have to ship it back before getting a refund. But I still never received it. 2 months later an un marked car delivered it and finally etrailer sent a UPS pickup and got refunded. 3 months of different stories everytime I called. Be aware, they must have a lot of newbies at etrailer.

etrailer had the best prices and excellent customer service, Thanks Ian! Shipping was fast and free to boot. I bent the front axle on my in-laws fifth wheel camper and this axle fit the bill. I had to order a set of spring seats and weld them to the opposite sides. The original seats were at 68.5 " centers and that configuration was unavailable anywhere.

I inherited an aluminum trailer that ended up needing a complete overhaul and etrailer was the best resource I could have found. After researching extensively to find out what I needed and watching their videos on how to do it I ended up ordering an EZ-lube axle, galvanized hubs, springs and a hanger kit (in other words everything from the frame down).
