Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Leveling Scissor Jack Set

Speaker 1: Today you'll be getting a look at and seeing how to install the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Set, with a quantity of two, part number JSC-24. They're also available in a quantity of one, with part number JSC-24-IND.You can bet on this pair of jacks. These scissor jacks from Stromberg Carlson are great for stabilizing and leveling your camper. As you can see, if your trailer is out of level, you can use your scissor jacks to level it. Check it out. Much better.

As you can see, without your scissor jacks engaged, there's a lot of movement in your trailer. With your scissor jacks engaged, all that extra movement is gone. They're adjustable between four and 24 inches and they have a 5000 pound weight capacity per jack. You can easily raise and lower them with the included crank handle. It's going to work out great on most surfaces.

As you can see, we're on concrete here. The bow-tie base is going to keep it steady even on soft surfaces. They're a bolt-on or weld-on installation. We'll go ahead and show you how to bolt them on now. Here you can see our old rusted out stabilizer jack. It's bent.

We're going to be replacing it. I've gone ahead and removed the old stabilizer. Let's bring in our new one. With our new one, you can see it's got multiple mounting locations. It's completely universal.

Now, you may or not be able to use your same mounting holes and locations. What you need to do is hold it up and figure out where it's going to work best. Now, once you've found a good location to install your stabilizer jack, you want to be sure that you can still easily access your drive nut, which is going to raise and lower your stabilizer jack. You'll want to raise your jack up to where it's making contact with your frame where you want to install it. Then you can mark your holes. Now, there are six holes on each side. I'm only going to be using four total, two on each side. You can use whichever holes work out best for you. Once you've got your holes marked, go ahead and move the jack out of the way, and then you can begin drilling out your holes. I'm going to be drilling out quarter-inch holes. If you'd like to, you can use a pilot bit and then drill out your final size. All right. With all those drilled out, you can go ahead and install your stabilizer jack. You will have to provide your own hardware.I'm just using some quarter-inch bolts with some flat washers and lock nuts. Now you can bring your jack back in and align your holes. Now you'll just loosely install all your hardware. Now we can tighten up our hardware. Now you can raise up your jack and it's ready for when you need it. That's going to complete your look at the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack set.

  • Can Trailer Jacks be Used to Help Stabilize Trailer
I am not totally sure what you are referring to so it's hard to say but if you have jacks on your trailer they can generally be deployed to help with stabilization.

  • Recommended Jack Stands to Elevate Boat and Trailer for Storage with Weight Off Tires
For your boat trailer, to keep the weight off the tires for storage, I recommend the 2-Ton Jack Stands - Qty 2 # PTW41021. Each jack can hold 4,000 lbs, but I recommend using 4 of these spaced as evenly as possible to keep the weight off the wheels and then just use the trailer jack for a 5th point of support and balance.

  • Stabilizer Jack Recommendation for Stored Boat Trailer To Support While in Storage
Scissor style stabilizer jacks like the Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 would be your best option. These were designed to stabilize camper trailers but would work great for what you are wanting. I attached a picture of what they look like in use plus a review video for more info as well.

  • Troubleshooting Electric A-Frame Trailer Tongue Jack, # JET-3555 Blowing Fuses
You should be able to manually crank the Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack, # JET-3555, up and down by removing the rubber plug on the side and inserting the manual handle or a properly sized socket wrench. Turn clockwise to extend the jack and counter-clockwise to retract it. I spoke with one of our installers about the fuses blowing. He stated that the power wire could be shorting to ground or there could be an internal component that is shorting out. Make sure all ground connections are...

  • Recommended Support Jacks for Rear of Tandem Axle Dump Trailer
We have the perfect solution for you. I'd recommend using the Fulton weld-on drop leg stabilizer jack, part # FSJ1-SJ2. The jack is sold individually, but using two of them would provide 6000 lbs of support which would be plenty, as your trailer axles would also bear a portion of the weight of your C332 Track Loader. I've linked to a product video featuring the jack I recommended, and have provided a photo showing the jack installed on a dump trailer.

  • Power Drill Socket Adapter To Quickly Raise And Lower Leveling Jacks
A drill bit attachment like the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks # UF48-979005 is not available for the Square Direct Weld Jack # TJD-12000SP-F2 or # TJD-15000SP-F. This would only work on scissor jacks like the Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 which can utilize the adapter # UF48-979005. Instead, you could use the Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit for Single-Speed Jacks w/ 12,000-lb Capacity # BD1824200100 to convert a manual jack to electric. This will eliminate...

  • Replacement Stabilizer Jacks for 2020 Rpod 195
I recommend to add Leveling Scissor Jack Set - 24" Lift - 10,000 lbs - QTY 2 # JSC-24 to the Rpod which will give you about 24" of height. When collapsed the jacks are 4" which is about 3/4" shorter than the other options to help with ground clearance. We do not carry a scissor stabilization jack that would store but that is a great idea. To make the Rpod more stable I recommend to use the JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer Kit for Travel Trailers part # LC191025 which will attach the scissor...

  • Manual Stabilizing Jacks For Class C Motorhome
These manual scissors jacks are for stabilization and not for leveling, so if you want to level out your Class C Winnebago Vita motorhome then you will need leveling blocks, the Ultra-Fab Leveling Blocks for Trailers and RVs # UF48-979051. Then for stabilizing jacks, ground clearance should not be an issue, no, and what you will need depends on the distance from your frame to the ground. The Stromberg Carlson Scissor Jacks have a 5,000 lb capacity per jack and each has a retracted height...

  • Can the Leveling Scissor Jack Set Be Used On a Class C Motorhome
The Leveling Scissor Jack Set part # JSC-24 can be mounted on a motorhome yes. In regards to installation, the jack will need to be attached to a part of the frame but there aren't many other mounting restrictions. However, I do recommend you check your ground clearance once mounted so you don't have any issues with them scraping. That said, please note the above jacks only offer up to 24" of lift so if you need more than this then you will have to go with the Leveling Scissor Jack Set...

  • Scissor Jack Recommendation to Replaced Damaged Ones on R Pod Trailer
For a pair of stabilizer jacks that would have more than enough capacity that would work well on your R-Pod I would recommend the Stromberg Carlson Trailer Scissor Jacks part # JSC-24. These have a 5k capacity per jack and would do a great job as long as you just use them for stability like you said you would. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

  • Class C Motorhome/RV Stabilizers That Are Not Permanently Attached To The Frame
Yes, you can use a Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 to stabilize your Class C motorhome without having to attach them to your frame. Some of the more popular options are the MORryde Hitch Mounted Trailer Stabilizer # MR22AR and Valterra Folding Manual Stabilizer # 020106 for stabilizing a motorhome. Since you will not be attaching the jacks to your motorhome these are easier to position and raise than attempting to hole a scissor jack style stabilizer. My preference would be to use...

Yes, I confirm that the Leveling Scissor Jack Set - 24" Lift - 10,000 lbs item # JSC-24 has the same bolt pattern as the etrailer Scissor Stabilizer Jacks w/ Handle - 18-3/4" Lift - 10,000 lbs item # TJSCHD-24-4. The item # JSC-24 are sold as a pair so you will need two sets.

There isn't a way to rotate the mount in relation to the foot direction of the stabilizer scissor jacks part # JSC-24 and since none of our options are setup like that our best solution would be the # LC285344 which has a round mounting bracket on the top instead.

  • Where Should Stabilizing Jacks be Installed on a Winnebago View
The stabilizing jacks, like the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24, on your Winnebago View should be installed on the rear corners of your vehicle. Since the front and mid section are stabilized by the axles, the rear corners are where stabilizing jacks need to be installed. • Can the Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 Lift a Trailer
The Leveling Scissor Jack Set, item # JSC-24, is designed as a leveling, stabilizer jack, that is to be bolted to the frame of the trailer. If you could find a location close enough to the wheel and tire to mount the jack securely, then the 5,000 pound capacity of the jack could be used to do maintenance or change a tire on a 4,000 pound trailer. Mounting the jack at the corners of the trailer would most likely not provide enough lift for this application. These jacks are not designed...

I walked out to our warehouse and measured the Stromberg Carlson Trailer Jack Set, part # JSC-24. On the end of the jacks that turns to raise and lower the jack it measured 3/4 inches on each jack. Yes, you can use a 3/4 inch socket to raise and lower each jack, or use the included arm with 3/4 inch end. I contacted our representative at Stromberg Carlson and she informed me that they do not have any brackets or shields that mount next to the jack to protect it.

  • Recommended Cost Effective Leveling Jacks For 2014 Thor Four Winds Class C Motorhome
The difference between stabilizing and leveling jacks can be confusing. Stabilizer jacks are just that, jacks used to provide stabilization to your motorhome to get rid of the motion you feel when walking around, and are not actually designed to be used to raise the motorhome like a traditional jack that you may think of. A leveling jack can be used to level the trailer and will be able to level your trailer along with stabilize it. For what you are looking to do on your 2014 Thor Four...

While I do not know which specific jack make and model came on your Rpod originally you can install pretty much any other similar jack, such as Ram Scissor Stabilizer Jack # TJSC-24, as a replacement. The mounting holes likely will not perfectly line up but it wouldn't take much effort to add a new hole or two to properly install the jack. Since the original was also welded I do recommend doing the same with the new jack. Any welding should be done by a professional welder.

Hey Mark! I recommend the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks # UF48-979002 over the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 any day of the week because the Ultra-Fab is backed by a limited lifetime warranty and it has a higher weight rating so not only will the jacks have an easier time with the weight of your trailer, if any malfunction were to occur you can have confidence in the warranty. The Stromberg Carlson has a lower weight rating and a 1-year limited warranty so it's...

  • What is the Difference Between a Stabilizing Scissor Jack and a Leveling Scissor Jack
There is no difference, that is just what the manufacturer decided to label it as. They both do the same job. Both Leveling Scissor Jacks, like part # JSC-24, and Stabilizing Scissor Jacks, like part # TJSCHD-24, are used to keep your RV level and stable. The only thing that you really need to keep an eye on is the weight capacity of each as these kinds of jacks are not meant to lift weight, just to hold it.

  • How to Use Power Drill to Make Raising and Lower Scissor Jacks for Camper Quicker
Yes, you can use a drill to make raising and lowering the scissor jack set part # JSC-24 a bit quicker. You'll just need the drill adapter part # UF48-979005 too and you'd be set. This basically is a socket attached to a power drill shank. The size socket that comes with this is 3/4 inch. See review video I attached for this as well.

The Bulldog Square Jack w/ Footplate part # BD190754 is a nice jack that lifts and lowers the trailer with out the need for a ton on force. This is caused by the nice gear set and the screw they use. With that said I can't recommend that you use a socket adapter like the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks part # UF48-979005 because it is outside of the typical use of the jack defined by the manufacturer. Ultra Fab also offers a similar jack # UF48-979006, I've also provided the hole spacing for that one as well. As you can see, the mounting holes are similar.
