The pop-up camper roof rack by SportRack is easy to install and lets you bring additional cargo with you when going on your camping trips. The rack fits most campers with a maximum width of 85-1/2 inches.
Each crossbar has three different notches that allow you to adjust the length to 80 inches, 83 inches or 86 inches, depending on the width of your trailer. Simply slide the supplied bolts into the pre-cut holes on the bars and tighten the bolts down with the included Allen wrench to fix the bars at the desired length.
Move the roof-rack feet along the length of the crossbars so they are aligned with the edges of your camper's roof. Then securely tighten the feet to the crossbars with the Allen wrench. Place the bars on your camper's roof in the location you want. The provided padding fits beneath the roof-rack feet to help prevent scratches and abrasions on the roof of your trailer. With a 1/8-inch drill bit, drill holes into the roof, and then bolt the crossbars onto your roof to secure the roof rack in place.

Like the other commenters said, this thing is HEAVY DUTY. I was afraid of bowing in the center due to the long span of these bars, but it’s such heavy duty metal, that bowing is extremely minor. Got this set up on an 03’ Flagstaff (by Forrest River) 208 pop-up camper, took about an hour. Set-up was simple with a little mechanical know-how. The directions are worthless. You WILL have extra parts as there are 3 types of mounting options (1. metal feet which attach directly to the camper (my set-up) 2. Plastic feet which attach to the camper to which the metal feet attach to 3. Thin metal spacers which go under the feet then attach to camper) . Mine was the simplest, so I didn’t have to use the plastic feet underneath the metal feet or the thin metal spacers, those are for different pop-up manufacturers. Will be attaching roof rack and bike carriers in the near future. Like always, etrailer got it here quickly and was the cheapest price on the net.

Originally, the shipment was missing the bars. All of the hardware came in in the box but the square bars left the plastic sleeves behind, and were not in the box. E-trailer quickly sent us the missing parts!! It fits our pop up tent trailer perfectly. The only downside I see at this point is the rails must be spaced well for all desired applications, as you can't easily move them once screwed down.

2014 Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite Travel Trailer
Arrived without towers that connect bars to vehicle. Had to reorder. They arrived as described. Big issue with Sportrack's lack of parts list and lack of any directions. This is compounded by the fact that they throw in hardware for both a railed-edge trailer and squared-edge trailer. Took quite a while to guess at which hardware went where and which was not included in my set up. It's up and secure.

Shipping from etrailer was quick and well packaged. The rack itself is very sturdy and strong but the instructions are not the greatest. The instruction does not include how to put the clamp together with the attached feet. I have enclosed some pics for reference. The small squares that supposed to help lock down the bolt to clamp is not big enough. I had to switch out for the larger rectangles that is designated for the movable tracks. That seems to held better. Also the washer for the bolts are a bit small also. I replaced it with bigger washer so the bolts won't slipped thru the clamps. Once this is assembled, everything else is a breeze. You want the rectangle to be centered with the clamp. If the opening is not centered, like in my case, just switch the clamp around.

2010 Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite Travel Trailer
The Sportrack is solid! Very heavy duty with a 200lb load limit. Assembly required a power driver, but other than that it was assembled with the provided allen wrenches. There are several mounting options depending on your set up. All hardware is included.

when the product was shipped I was missing the four connector pieces that connect the crossbars with the camper. Contacted etrailer to let them know I was missing the four connector pieces. A short time later three arrived in the mail. Called etrailer back and they apologized and sent one more connector piece. Call them back again and they sent me the fourth connector piece. I then finally had all the parts to install the crossbars. Then I realized that the directions were seriously lacking detail but I watched an online video and that helped me figure some things out. After at least a month and a half later I finally had crossbars on my camper and family and I finally went camping! The racks seemed to work really well on our first camping trip experience. Looking forward to many more camping experiences and being able to haul our canoe and bikes!

2015 Jeep Patriot
Was relative easy to place and adjust. both the cross bar and the track were on in about 3 hrs, between me and my son. Looking forward to next camping trip to test it with both, my wife and my bike. This a a 1997 Jayco 1006 st rd . The roof brand new, just on for 3 weeks. I love etrailer. easy to buy, good advise and very fast in delivery.

My greatest concern was just how sturdy the brackets would be over an 84" expanse. I found the assembly to be reasonably easy and the brackets to be very rigid and high strength. By the way, customer service at etrailer was exceptional.

Found this rack via an online search where someone asked bout a rack for a pop up trailer. I have a pop up Palomino 1251 backpack slide in truck camper, wanted a rack for two solar panels and a top box. Looked into it, read some reviews and bought it. Packaged arrived quickly but looked like it went thru hell, contents were all good though.
Like the reviews say.....the instructions are almost useless. Lay it all out and you can figure it out. The rack is heavy duty and works well. Adjustable in width to over 7 feet and has three mounting options. Three bags of hardware for each mounting option.
When you figure how wide you need it you'll see two smalls hole in the tubing near where they overlap. This is where two allen set screws go in each bar. I figured I would have to find my own fasteners for this but stumbled on these in one of the mounting package.
I did use my own stainless steel cap screws, washers and nylocks to fasten the bars to the mounts. I also drilled out another hole so I had two at each end instead of the one.
I used there lag bolts to mount to my camper. I also used 3m VHB Tape, Sika Flex 221 and Dicor on top, it's solid! Holds the solar panels well and probably anything else you can put on it.....within it's weight guidelines of course.
Overall very happy with it. My advice.....plan your work, work your plan.

These carrier bars (SR1020) have serious design faults; ours failed in less than 100 miles while carrying a 13 ft 40 lb canoe. As others have noted, the instructions are really bad; many of the parts included are not explained or shown on drawings. OK, that is the new norm for products from China. Being mechanically inclined, I enjoy the game of assembling things without instructions. I did not like the clamping device that purports to hold the cross bars to the four supports, and was not surprised when one failed on the road. Hey, all the assembly kit needs is a roll of duct tape: the duct tape really holds the parts together like a properly designed clamp would.
The carrier bars are designed to be adjustable, to fit popup trailers 80 to 84 inches wide. OK, but the present design has no holes through the bars to allow the use of bolts with reliable strength. I will drill these holes on my own. The supplied clamps use a bolt that is far below the center of the two pieces, thus can not pull in the upper part of the clamp. A related issue is that the four supports (which basically fit our Flagstaff MAC popup very well), do not always wind up at 90 degrees to the roof when screwed down--if they are no square with the cross bar the supplied clamps do not fit properly, and this is difficult to correct after the supports are screwed down. Instructions could offer advice on how to get this first step done properly.
With some additional work to create holes for bolts through the center line of the square bars (not a big thing for some of us), these carrier bars should work as intended. For others, duct tape will get the job done.

I am so glad I found this website and this product! I had been looking for quite some time for a means to mount kayak racks to the top of a pop up camper. This fits and works perfectly. I have mounted kayak "J-racks" on the outer edges of the camper using these rails and still have room to fit a third kayak upside down on a foam padding mount in the middle. This rack spreads the weight nicely and makes traveling so much easier .

So far so good. Have had the rack for a year mounted to a small Viking popup. We use it to carry 3 bikes and have 3 individual Rocky Mounts bikes racks mounted to the carrier. I was worried a bit about the attachment of the carrier bars to the trailer top not being substantial enough to withstand wind loads on bikes sticking up in the air but no problems so far. Have made maybe 6 trips with 1-3 bikes on top without incident.

2003 Coleman Utah
I used this rack on a 2003 Coleman Utah pop-up camper and I am sure it will work well with other pop-up's with rack tracks/rails which come factory installed. The rack itself was well made, the instructions were so-so. Attaching the bars to the risers took a few tries but once I determined the plastic spacer needed to be placed in between the riser and bar it went quickly.
I had to get some longer bolts (8, 30mm M6's) to be able to mount the risers to the track/rail using the plastic spacers, but otherwise all need part we included.

The rack is very durable and installs nicely on the camper. Be aware that the cross bars are much bigger than Thule or Yakima, so some of my bike racks did not fit without an adapter, kind of annoying but not the end of the world.

1 year later, I'm glad to have bought my own nuts and bolts for this rack, and reinforced the mid-section when I installed it. Factory hardware immediately rusts after the first rain, and sags in the mid-section by design.
The reason I purchased this item was based on how it mounted to the rails of my popup camper (no drilling), and that the cross bars are adjustable. I can cart around kayaks no problem with this setup, but keep in mind - The design is cheap and requires some DIY handiwork to make it right.

They were perfect for what I needed... bars to fit into the factory rails on my Jayco 1007 popup. I had to take some rubber (think yoga mat) to make the angle right on the bracket (the lip caught the rail a bit and pushed the angle down), but it worked.

Assembly instructions and drawings very vague. Installations required major modifications. C clamps securing crossbar have a major design problem . When bottom bolt is tightened the top spreads , requiring an extra hole to secure the top with a bolt . Other wise , a well made trailer rack .

It took me just 2 hours working alone to fit the rack, it is well made and will do what I need without question, (my kayak is already on top of my camper) I would recommend that if you are fitting this rack get the help of a friend!! I did it alone but it would have been much easier with help, all in all I would recommend this rack to anyone looking to put a bike or Kayak on top of a pop up camper. thank you guys, for a great deal!! Before my purchase I read many reviews on this product. There were lots of complaints of vague instructions. It wasn't so much of a problem for me as far as figuring out how it went together, with a little common sense and any level of mechanical ability one should find this task a breeze. The only issue I had were the holes in the foot pads were about a half a hole off when trying to line them up on the factory roof rails of my 2015 Jayco. It was an easy fix, I drilled another set of holes in front of the existing holes and slotted them out. A little black paint to prevent from rusting and all was well. It actually took me longer to get the box open and get everything unpackaged and modified than it did for me to install the rack. This is the only reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5.

Thanks The ladder rack has been installed on my Lance camper. The hardware worked out wonderfully and I have put my kayak on it. looks good and is very secure. It has not been driven yet due to transmission issues. I am very happy with it.

Product came in a timely fashion and was in good condition. Well made heavy duty vehicle rack. Fit as specified on our 2004 Jayco pop up camper. Have only used it once and seems to be fine so far. Only one "con" to add: the instructions were less than wonderful. Having written instructions along with the pictures would have been great. Would recommend to anyone looking for this type of product. Used it to carry 12 foot Aluminum fishing boat.

Sportrack states that this has a capacity of 200 lbs which means it does have a 200 lb capacity. On page 14 of the installation instructions link I attached the capacity is listed. This is designed for pop up campers so it would work fine on yours when it is down and you are towing it.
