Putco Bar Style Bumper Review

Speaker 1: Today, we'll be having a look at the Putco Bar Style Bumper Insert, part number P86182, also available with a heater plug opening as part number P86182-FP.Here's what our grill insert looks like installed. As you see, it closes off the opening in our lower grill giving our truck a much more finished and clean look. By closing off the lower grill opening, we offer more protection from road debris for our inner cooler for EcoBoost engine. Even though it closes off our grill opening to help protect our inner cooler, the horizontal slats provided by our bar construction still allows adequate air flow to pass through for our inner cooler to function properly. The grill is constructed of a stainless steel material, which will resist rust over the lifetime of the vehicle. We have a mirror-like finish on it, which complements the factory grill on our Platinum Edition. Now, what sets this grill insert apart from other options on the market is that it fits very well at a very affordable price.

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Putco bar-style bumper insert in stainless steel, part number P86195. Now, here's what it looks like once we have it installed, as you can see it's got a nice mirror finish. Now, it's made out of a heavy gauge stainless steel that's going to prevent rust and corrosion. It's going to provide you a nice OEM look, and with this grille in place, it's going to help keep large pieces of debris from flying into your coolers or your radiator of your vehicle, which can save you lots of money down the road if something was to come in contact with your cooler or your radiator. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. Now, to begin with, we're going to have to remove this plastic fascia on top here, there's 12 pushpins that hold it in. You can take a flat bladed screwdriver or a panel tool and you're just going to pry up in the center and pull them out.

Putco Vendor Information

Hey guys, its Matt Payne with Putco. I wanted to talk to you a little bit about the history of our company. What we are known for and where we are headed. It was the first company in the industry to have pattens on the original running board. The name of the company stands for Pickup Trailer Company. It was founded by a blacksmith who was making trailers and selling those. He bought a truck and his wife could not get into it, fabed up a running board and then got patents filed on it. For the last ten years outside of our stainless steel truck accessory core we have gotten into grill s that are clamp on style grills. We have also launched a full line of chrome trim accessory items that tape on to your vehicle mirror covers, door handle covers, and chrome accents all the way around the truck, car, or SUV. 00:45

Spiderweb Grille Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on this 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe we are going to install part number P303158 from Putco. This is their Putco liquid billet grille. In this particular unit we are going to install their spiderweb version. What this product does is it actually mounts on the top of the existing grille you have so you do not have to remove any parts at all. It is pretty easy to install you just have to loosen the grille up to get some working room but that is about it. The first thing we need to do is open the hood. The grille that is going to fit on top of this grille, the mounting point is right about this area so to get to that we are going to have to reach in from the top and over. It is really kind of hard to do with the space we have so that is why we are going to loosen up the grille. To do that we have got a series of bolts on the top to undo. It is really easy stuff. Basically we just need about one inch of room and we are good to go. 00:52

Westin Billet Grille Installation - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

First thing, this does cover up the Nissan logo so that has to be removed before installation, luckily that just snaps off. Next step is to get your grille out and inspect it, it looks really nice and the next thing that needs to happen is install the hardware. The hardware is relatively simple, all it consists of is a bolt and toggle bolt assembly. Thats all it takes, you just have three more and it just pushes right into the grille. Next is to put the grille into place and push the toggles through the grille and they will latch onto the other side. Once you have it set in place, all it takes is a screwdriver to tighten them down and hold them while you do it so you keep them where you want them. The other two grilles on the side mount the same way, well install those. There you have a nice easy to use, easy to install edition to your vehicle, it enhances the look almost instantaneously.
