Camper Tie-Downs Questions and Answers

  • Camper Tie Down Recommendations for a Chevy Silverado 2500
  • There are several camper tie downs that you could use depending on how you want them to mount. First, the Camper Tie Downs, # TDSF, that you have referenced will fit your truck and fit in the truck stake pockets. If you do not want something in the stake pockets, then I recommend going with Camper Hold Down, # HSSF, which wrap around the bed side. For either kit, use Camper Tie Down Hardware Package, # TDHP.

  • Camper Tie Downs for a 2,600-Lb Camper on a Ford F-250 Super Duty
  • The Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # TDSF are a universal application for full-size trucks and they will fit a Ford F-250 Super Duty. The hardware to mount the tie downs to the vehicle is included. I would also recommend the Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # HSSF which is a more heavy duty tie down. The tie downs wrap around the bed, not in the stake pockets, and are mounted inside the bed. They will not work with a slide-in bed liner. There is no weight capacity rating on the camper...

  • How to Connect Camper Tie Downs to Camper
  • The HSSF hold down brackets would use the Tie Down Hardware Package, part # TDHP, which includes hooks, chain and turnbuckles. The tie down hardware would typically attach to existing eye bolts built into the underside of camper. If your camper does not have such an attachment point, you can add them, as long as they attach to the frame of the camper. The Steel flanges shown in the photo you provided could be used as attachment points for the hardware if they are connected to the camper...

  • I do have a set of turnbuckles & tie downs for your 2000 Ford F-250/F-350 but we currently do not have the bumper mounted tie down anchors. Instead you can either choose from a bed mounted tie down or a frame mounted tie down. For a bed mounted tie down, I recommend using the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs part # HSAB. As long as your external bed rail width does not exceed 5-1/2", and you have at least 2" of space beneath lip of your bed rail then they will work well for you. If...

The part of the inner tube that you tie the camper off to is 1/4 inch thick. The outer tube is larger at 2 inches square...
