TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs TLD3109A Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Torque Lift Talon Rear Custom Frame Mounted Camper Tie Downs. Now to ensure or double check that this kit's a fit for your vehicle, you can always use the vehicle fit guide which is located at etrailer.com.These tie downs simply provide the attachment points at the rear of your truck bed for securing a bed mounted camper. Front tie downs are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The frame mounted design ensures excellent handling. Securing your camper to the trucks base instead of it's bed really helps better distribute the weight to keep the set up from becoming or being too top heavy. The inserts, which are these right here, these have two set positions, so you can remove the pin and clip and that simply just slides out of the bracket. And you'll notice that there's two pin holes on there.

TorkLift Frame-Mounted Front Tie-Downs Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Torklift Custom Frame Mounted Camper Tie Downs for the front, part number TLC2220. Here's what our camper tie downs look like once they're installed. Now, we always do recommend using four tie down points, so we're using it in conjunction with the rear as well. Now, if you need some of the rear tie down points, you can pick some up on our website using part number TLC3215.These are frame mounted tie downs, which is going to give you a very stable point to mount your camper to. Now, the frame style tie down is going to have a big advantage over the bed style because we're not going to have to worry about any bed damage or drilling into our bed or bumper causing rust down the line. It's also a lower attachment point, which is going to benefit us because of our camper being up so high, it's going to take some of the stress off from having that top-heavy load. Now, since it's mounted to the frame we're not going to lose any ground clearance, because as you can see, it's going to come in and go up to our frame where our frame is actually going to hang down lower farther forward.

TorkLift Frame-Mounted Rear Tie-Downs Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for the rear, part number TLC3215. Here's what our camper tie-downs look like once we have them fully installed. Now, we are using them in conjunction with the front, and you can pick those up on our website using part number TLC2220. These are going to serve the purpose to keep our camper secure when we're driving down the road so we don't have to worry about it moving around on us. Now, our tie-downs are frame-mounted tie-downs, and the big advantage over the bed style tie-downs is the fact that our tie-down point is going to be lower, which is going to keep our load more stable instead of being up so high, and less top heavy, and it's going to be more structurally sound because it's going directly to the frame. What you're really going to appreciate about the fact that it's frame-mounted is we're not going to have to drill into our bumper or potentially cause any damage to our bed, which is also going to prevent rust from happening, keeping the value of your truck longer. One thing also that you're really going to like is you're not going to lose any ground clearance since it mounts to the frame, which is above our body here.

They're very easy to install and remove. It does come with detailed installation instructions to walk you through the whole process step by step, but basically, each unit gets clamped onto the bed rails of your truck, no drilling required. With this part number, you get four angled camper tie downs with the clamp plates.

  • Camper Tie Down Recommendations for a Chevy Silverado 2500
  • There are several camper tie downs that you could use depending on how you want them to mount. First, the Camper Tie Downs, # TDSF, that you have referenced will fit your truck and fit in the truck stake pockets. If you do not want something in the stake pockets, then I recommend going with Camper Hold Down, # HSSF, which wrap around the bed side. For either kit, use Camper Tie Down Hardware Package, # TDHP.
