Camper Tie-Downs Questions and Answers

  • Camper Tie Down Recommendations for a Chevy Silverado 2500
  • There are several camper tie downs that you could use depending on how you want them to mount. First, the Camper Tie Downs, # TDSF, that you have referenced will fit your truck and fit in the truck stake pockets. If you do not want something in the stake pockets, then I recommend going with Camper Hold Down, # HSSF, which wrap around the bed side. For either kit, use Camper Tie Down Hardware Package, # TDHP.

  • Camper Tie Downs for a 2,600-Lb Camper on a Ford F-250 Super Duty
  • The Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # TDSF are a universal application for full-size trucks and they will fit a Ford F-250 Super Duty. The hardware to mount the tie downs to the vehicle is included. I would also recommend the Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # HSSF which is a more heavy duty tie down. The tie downs wrap around the bed, not in the stake pockets, and are mounted inside the bed. They will not work with a slide-in bed liner. There is no weight capacity rating on the camper...

  • To maintain the warranty of the Torklift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs, # TLN2409 and # TLR3500, for your 2010 Nissan Frontier, you will want 4 spring loaded turnbuckles like the Torklift SpringLoad XL Turnbuckles, # TLS9050A or the FastGun Turnbuckles, # TLS9526. Torklift requires spring loaded turnbuckles for frame mounted tie-downs due to the tension they provide. As you mentioned, these are sold in quantities of two so you would want two sets of the turnbuckle you choose. Torklift...

The tie down hardware would typically attach to existing eye bolts built into the underside of camper. If your camper does not have such an attachment point, you can add them, as long as they attach to the frame of the camper. The Steel flanges shown in the photo you provided could be used as attachment points for the hardware if they are connected to the camper...

  • The TorkLift camper tie downs you referenced, # TLF2011 and # TLF3001 will have an outer assembly and an inner assembly. Tie down # TLF3001A will too but it has aluminum components. The measurements will be the same for all of these. I pulled # TLF2011 to take the measurements. The inner tube is smaller, 1-1/2 inches square with a wall thickness of 3/16 of an inch. The part of the inner tube that you tie the camper off to is 1/4 inch thick. The outer tube is larger at 2 inches square...
