Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on this 2016 Ford F-150, we'll be having a look at, and showing you how to install, the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267.Here's what our Diode Wiring Kit looks like installed. This will allow us to safely and legally tow our F-150 behind our motor home, while making sure we have all the necessary lights required by law. We'll have our tail lights, our brake lights, and our turn signals. What's great about this kit, is that it'll allow us to use the factory wiring and bulbs already in our vehicle. We don't have to worry about using magnetic tow lights, or having to use a separate bulb and socket system. It just uses what you already have, so it's less maintenance required. You still only have to worry about your factory tail lights. If you have an issue with one of those, it's no different for servicing.

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring RM-152-LED Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Taillight Wiring Kit for towed vehicles. Now this taillight kit gives you brake, running and turn signal lights for your towed vehicle without tapping into its wiring system. It bypasses the towed vehicle's electrical system completely so the wiring will actually be routed underneath the vehicle and held up and out of the way with the included cable ties. And the benefit of having it bypassing the vehicle's electrical system is that it really eliminates concerns of violating the vehicle manufacturers warranty. Now these are LED lights. They last longer, burn brighter and activate faster when compared to incandescent lights. The LEDs are red diodes and LEDs generate little heat so there's no risk of melting the lenses as long as you have adequate clearance in the taillight housing assembly. You'll notice that it features the independent bulbs and sockets.

Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring BX88267 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Blue Ox Taillight Wiring Kit for towed vehicles. This taillight kit gives you brake, running and turn signal lights for the towed vehicle without tapping into the vehicle wiring. This kit bypasses the towed vehicle's electrical system completely. So, as you're running the wiring for your installation, the wiring is right beneath the vehicle, and you'd want to secure it using some cable ties, making sure that you stay away from anything that will pinch the wiring or any heat sensitive items. It's a really nice design. It's a full LED system. It does have the independent bulbs and sockets, not inside your tail light assembly. The LED bulbs are smaller than traditional incandescent bulbs, for a better fit and a much simpler installation.

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2016 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road Master Universal High Power diode Wiring kit. Part number RM-154.So here's what are wiring diode kit looks like once fully installed. It's going to give us a four pull flat trailer connector on the front of our vehicle, and it's going to accept our RV's tail light signals and turn signals as well as our breaks, so we can tow our F150 down the road safely. Now a wiring kit is going to eliminate the need for the magnetic lights that you see on a lot of vehicles being towed down the road because it's going to use our factory wiring and tap into our factory tail lights. It's also going to have high powered diode in our kit, which are going to prevent any kind of electrical feedback from our RV and prevent any kind of damage to our vehicles electrical system. It's also going to come with a patch cord, so we can connect our F150 to our RV, without having to worry about buying anything extra. The insulation is going to be fairly straight forward. We're going to have to run a length of wire from our vehicle, all the way to the back and reach our tail lights. Now once we get to the back, we're going to have to find our turn signals and our tail light signals on each side.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2007 Jeep Liberty, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Universal high-power diode wiring kit, part number RM-152. Here's everything our kit's going to come with. It's going to come with four high-powered diodes, three feet of wire loom, 30 feet of four-wire wiring harness, several cable ties, a ring terminal, a butt connector, and a self-tapping screw. Our kit is going to combine our lights from our RV with our towed vehicle and have them act as one. When we're not towing our vehicle, the lights are going to act normal and not going to interfere with normal operation. Our diodes here are going to prevent any feedback back to our RV, and they're going to protect our vehicle and our lights and our wiring system from any damage that may occur. This kit is going to work with several adapter cords. We're going to be using it in conjunction with the seven to six wire, part number 98146-7.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2009 Chevrolet HHR

Speaker 1: Today on this 2009 Chevrolet HHR you'll be having a look at and being shown how to install the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-152. We will also be using a Roadmaster six wire trailer connector, part number RM-910030-7.Here's what our diode wiring kit looks like installed. What this is gonna allow us to do is safely and legally flat tow our vehicle behind our motor home without having to worry about using any magnetic tow lights. This will use the existing light bulbs in our vehicle with very little modification required. You're already using what you have there. What the diodes are gonna do is protect our vehicle's expensive lighting circuit.

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Installation - 2009 Chevrolet HHR

Speaker 1: Today, on this 2009 Chevrolet HHR, you'll be having a look at and being shown how to install the Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass, part number RM76511.Here's what our fuse bypass looks like installed. This fuse bypass is gonna save us time and energy to get our vehicle in tow mode. Without having a fuse bypass we have to lay in an uncomfortable position, remove this entire panel from our vehicle, and pull a fuse so we don't have to worry about our battery being run down as we're flat-towing our HHR behind our motor home. With a simple flip of a switch the circuit that the fuse protects is now bypassed and we will have our vehicle in tow mode 100%. Now, for the HHR to be in tow mode the key is in the ignition, one click forward on the ignition so your steering wheel is unlocked, so it's in accessory position. And then, as you can see with it in accessory, our radio is still on because power is flowing through our ignition switch. With fuse number eight bypassed we don't have power going through our ignition switch anymore, so the radio is off and all accessories for the accessory position of the ignition switch are now shut off, so we don't have to worry about any power draw occurring.

What your diodes are going to do is they're going to hook directly into your taillight's wiring on your towed vehicle. Now, these are going to protect your vehicle wiring and your RV wiring from any back feed that my occur between the two. Now let's show you how to get these installed. First thing we need to do is we need to remove our tail lights.

  • Parts Needed to Replace All Wiring a Single Axle Cargo Trailer
  • To completely rewire your cargo trailer, I would recommend picking up a trailer light kit like the Standard Light Kit, # TL5RK, or # TLL9RK for LED lights. These kits include all necessary wiring and hardware needed to install the lights on your trailer. The LED light kit does not include clearance lights. To add clearance lights, I would recommend using # MCL31AB. The best option would be the LED lights because they only use a fraction of the power that the incandescent lights use....

  • Recommendation for Adding Taillights to Rear of Hitch Mounted Bicycle Rack
  • We don't offer anything purpose-built to install taillights on a hitch mounted bike rack, but you could effectively modify an existing system very easily. If your bike rack is steel, you could simply use a magnetic mount tow light like part # C-ATL20A. There would be some extra wire you'd need to bundle up and secure with zip ties, but the installation would be very simple. Another option would involve using a light kit designed for a cargo carrier. I'd recommend the # 59516 kit and...

Since the owner's manual states that the battery must be disconnected I strongly recommend following those instructions and not trying to get by it somehow.
