Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Roadmaster high powered diode kit with the seven wire to six wire straight cord. Part number is RM-152-98146-7.Now the reason to choose this style of the kit over a coiled wiring kit, would be because your tow bar either has a slot where your wiring will slide through to keep it really nice and neat. Or you prefer a nice neat look where you could zip tie everything together and keep it clean. The diodes are also an important part here protecting both the vehicle and your motor home from any kind of back feed between each other. Now to begin our installation, we're going to get our wiring ran kind of out here on the front of the vehicle, so we can install our plug. We just stretch our four pole wire out underneath the vehicle. We'll bring this up from behind.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 GMC Terrain

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-152. Now to help us in our installation, we're going to be using the Pollak 6 pole, round pin, plastic trailer wiring socket with rubber boot for the vehicle end, part number PK12720. Our diode kit is going to allow us to use our vehicle's tail lights and wiring system to accept our RV's tail lights and signals so that we don't have to worry about putting those magnetic lights or anything else on our vehicle. Our diodes are going to prevent any kind of feedback and any damage done to the vehicle's tail light circuits or the vehicle's electrical system. Here's where your electrical connection is going to be made. Now here we have a 6 pole round connector. This is not included in our kit, but we do have a wide variety of connectors, anywhere from a 4 pole flat, 5 round, 6 round, or even a 7 Y RV connector.

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Installation - 2017 GMC Terrain

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster FuseMaster Bypass, Part Number RM76511. Here's where what our fuse bypass looks like. It's just going to be a switch right here on the inside of our kick panel, where our fuse box is located on the inside of our passenger's side. Now instead of having to pull the fuse out whenever we flat tow our vehicle, we can simply come up, switch the switch to tow mode and that will cut that fuse and it won't be supplying power and it will save our vehicle from draining the battery. Whenever we're ready to drive it again and we're unhooked we can put it into drive mode and it'll have all the power it needs and going to all the accessories and it'll act like normal.Let's show you how to get it installed. To begin our installation we're going to need to find our fuse panel and it's located on the passenger's side of the center console here.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Lincoln MKX

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Lincoln MKX we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Universal High Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-152. Now, to help us with our install we're also going to be using the Roadmaster Seven Wire to Six Wire Flex Pole Coil Kit, part number RM-146-7.Here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to allow us to accept our RV lights and activate our Lincoln's lights in conjunction with that, so when we're flat towing our Lincoln down the road, people will know when we're slowing down, changing lanes, or anything because our lights will activate on the back at the same time they're activating on our RV. Now, our kit is going to come with a six way round plug at the front of your vehicle, and it's going to come with an umbilical cord to connect from your RV with a seven way end, and then six way round end for the vehicle. Now, our wiring kit is going to have some diodes, and they are going to stay right behind our taillights, and we are going to have to splice into our wires. The nice thing about our diodes is, is it's going to prevent any kind of feedback that we may have on the RV side from damaging the electrical components in our car. Now that we've gone over some of the features and we've seen what it looks like, let's show you how we got it installed.I took my loom and I went ahead and put it on the end of my four pole wire.

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2017 Lincoln MKX

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Lincoln MKX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road Master diode seven wire to six wire flexo coil wiring kit, part number RM-15267. Here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to allow us to accept our RV lights and activate our Lincoln's lights in conjunction with that so when we're flat-towing our Lincoln down the road, people will know whether we're slowing down, changing lanes or anything because our lights will activate on the back at the same time that they're activating on our RV.Now, our kit is going to come with a six-way round plug at the front of your vehicle. And it's going to come with an umbilical cord to connect from your RV with the seven way end and then a six way round end for the vehicle. Our wiring is going to have some diodes and they are going to stay right behind our tail lights. We are going to have to splice into our wires.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2014 Ford Edge

Speaker 1: Today in our 2014 Ford Edge, we'll be having a look at and installing the road master universal high powered diode wiring kit, part number RM-152. With our diodes installed behind our tail lights on our Edge, when we're flat towing our vehicle behind our motor home we can use the vehicles existing tail lights and brake lights without having to worry about having magnetic tow lights installed in the vehicle or drilling into our tail light assemblies and using an additional bulb and socket. We'll be able to utilize what's already on the vehicle from the factory. Now what's great about the diodes, they only allow electricity to flow in one direction, so when we're having the vehicle being towed behind the RV, we don't have to worry about any voltage being back fed into our vehicle's expensive electronic systems causing damage. This will protect our vehicle's components and utilize the bulbs that are already in place. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get it installed. And to being our install, we'll show you where we have routed our four way flat wiring right here.

Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System Installation - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This diode system is going to provide a proper lighting function for your towed vehicle. The diodes protect your RV from any back feed if there is a problem in the wiring from your vehicle, and vice versa. It's going to protect your vehicle from any back feed from the RV. Now let's show you how to get this installed.First thing we're going to do is we're going to start by removing our taillight. You take a trim panel tool, and you're just going to gently pull out on these pins until they come all the way out.

If your bike rack is steel, you could simply use a magnetic mount tow light like part # C-ATL20A. There would be some extra wire you'd need to bundle up and secure with zip ties, but the installation would be very simple. Another option would involve using a light kit designed for a cargo carrier. I'd recommend the # 59516 kit and...

A lot of people want to use them any way for more visibility of the vehicle, which isn't a bad idea. Since your trailer connector is already in use with the tow dolly lights, you would have to splice into the tow dolly wiring to power the additional lights. In that situation, a wireless system like # NV-5164 would not work. You would...

To add clearance lights, I would recommend using # MCL31AB. The best option would be the LED lights because they only use a fraction of the power that the incandescent lights use....

  • What is the Battery Life for Blazer Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights

It is difficult to estimate because of all of these factors. The safe bet is to check them with reasonable frequency. With that said the LED lights draw very little amperage so fresh batteries are likely going to last well over 2 hours. If...

Consult the owners manual to confirm this and for other specific information on flat towing your Jeep. These base plates will fit without an...
