Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring 154-792-118158 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster six diode universal wiring kit for towed vehicles with separate lighting. This system connects your RV's tail brake and turn signal lights to your towed vehicle's lighting system. It is designed for use on towed vehicles that have a three wire system, which is a separate brake and turn signal system. It prevents electrical feedback and the damage it can cause to your towed car's electrical components. It comes with the tail light converter to adapt your RV's two wire system to work with the towed vehicle's three wire system. And it contains everything you need to wire your car for flat towing.

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Universal high power diode wiring kit, part number RM-152. Here's what our diodes look like installed. Now the reason you're gonna want a set of diodes for your Grand Cherokee when you're flat towing it is that this will keep you safe and legal, giving you the necessary lighting functions required by law and you no longer have to worry about using magnetic tow lights on your vehicle which could scratch your paint. These diodes will allow you to use your factory taillight and brake light bulbs to treat your vehicle as a trailer now. Your brake light bulb will now function as your turn signals when you're flat towing and your factory taillight will still be you taillights when you're flat towing as well. This makes it quick and easy with no additional bulbs, it's utilizes what your vehicle already has in it from the factory. The diodes will serve as a protection method for your vehicle's expensive electrical components, not allowing any voltage to be back fed into your Jeep from your motor home. Our customers really like this because they think it works very well.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Roadmaster diode wiring kit for towed vehicles with the seven wire to six wire flexo-coil kit, part number is RM-15267.Now this wiring kit's going to be the perfect solution for towed vehicles. So anytime the blinkers, brakes, or running lights come on in our RV, that's going to be transfer back and we'll see it on the lights on our Jeep. Now let's test our lighting system out. You'll want to hook it up to either a tester or your motor home. Start by turning on our running lights. Then we do our left blinker, our right blinker. Now the diodes are going to play an important role in our towed vehicle wiring, these prevent backfeeding.

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring RM-76517 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster FuseMaster 50 amp fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles. This'll take some of the hassle out of towing your car with this fuse bypass system. Basically what happens is some cars can be towed only if you get under the hood and pull a fuse or fuses, and if you don't remove those fuses before towing, there's a good chance that your battery's going to be drained by the time you reach your destination. So what this kit does is a fuse master. This will replace your vehicle's FMX fuse, and will let you prep for towing by just simply flipping a switch right here. Has an integrated holder, which will keep the fuses secure and functional. It includes everything laid out here on the table.

And in conjunction with this, we're also going to be using Roadmaster's seven wire to six wire straight cord kit, part number RM-98146-7. This lighting kit is going to allow you to transfer those signals from inside your RV back to the vehicle that you're flat towing behind you. You'll have all the necessary lightings, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. Since these bulbs are separate, we don't have to tap into the vehicle's wiring system, so you don't have to worry about voiding that wiring warrantee. The wiring from your tail lights is run up your front 6-pole connector on your vehicle, which then connects to the 7-pole on your RV.

Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Ford Edge

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Edge Sport we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number HM56011. What this wiring harness is going to do, it's going to give you all the proper lighting functions for your towed vehicle, your turn signals, your brake lights, your running lights and your ground. What's good about this wiring harness, it's going to hook directly into your factory tail lights and wiring. You're not going to have to make any splices, and it's going to have a diode kit, which means if you have a wiring issue in your RV, the diode kit is going to protect your factory wiring in your vehicle from getting damaged, and vice versa. Now let's go over the five main components of our flat tow set up on our Ford Edge. Here we're going to have the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain tow bar, which is going to come with your safety cables, the Roadmaster EZ4 base plate, the Air Force One braking system, and the Hopkins custom fit towed vehicle wiring. The first thing we need to do to start our installation, we need to remove both of our tail lights. What we need to do is remove this little cap right here.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Ford Edge

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Ford Edge we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Hopkins custom taillight wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number is HM56000. Now a towed vehicle wiring harness is gonna be the perfect solution for enabling you to plug your motor home into the front of your vehicle and the lights work on the back so we can stay legal and have the signals we need. Now when the motor home sends the signal in it's gonna run through the wiring harness and to our diode converter. Here it's gonna be converted into a usable signal that our vehicle will recognize and operate the lights for us. We've got T connector harnesses that are gonna plug directly in to our factory connectors for the drivers side here and also for the passengers side so there's no splicing or cutting of our vehicle's wiring harness required. Now the diode harness is a very nice feature to have, this is gonna allow us to separate the two vehicle wiring systems. As we're using our car's lighting system we're not gonna have any back feed going up to our motor home plug area and when we're using our motor home signal as those signals come in they're not gonna be looped around and then sent into the vehicle system. It's a great way to protect our vehicle, our motor home to keep everything isolated at the same time. Now to get our harness installed we're gonna take off the taillight housings on each side, we'll use an eight millimeter socket and we want to take out the two screws that hold the housing in place.
