Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

It is appalling that so many SUV manufacturers ignore the U for Utility in SUVs, and do nothing to make adding a hitch easier. They do not even have a tailer lighting circuit built in, something that would cost very little.. I have a BMW 2014 X3 and what you have to do to add hitch is ridiculous. Fortunately, with the comprehensive video provided by E-Trailer, it is quite doable even if somewhat time consuming. Following the video I was able to do this in about 4 hours. I also installed their lighting kit. Now I can take advantage of hitch bike racks and tow trailers. When I installed one the kits into my Lexus RX400h, it was way easier and my Lexus did have a lighting circuit that only needed a short interface cable. This is a great kit and I recommend it highly. BMW seems particularly adverse to trailer hitches. Thank you E-Trailer
Installation took a little over 3 hours. I was watching the video and reading the instructions at the same time. The most difficult part was removing the fender clips. It takes some careful pulling. You will need some plastic trim tools, RTV silicone gasket maker, blue thread locker and a plastic rivet gun. To put in the rivets closet to the bottom I had to use a pair of locking pliers since there wasn’t enough clearance to use the rivet gun I bought. You may need an extra set of hands (I did) to hold the fender while you disconnect a plug, and while putting on the hitch. Follow the video. I did skip the step of removing and disconnecting the plastic panel that goes on top of the bumper beam. I just removed the push pins and flipped on top into the trunk.
I recommend reading the the installation guide and watching the video. Not all steps are in both.
Very solid hitch product. Installed on a 2014 BMW X3. The video instructions you have available on your website for different vehicles is the gamechanger. Being mechanically inclined and experienced certainly helps make the install easier, but the videos you have cut install time down significantly versus reading instructions or figuring it out on your own. Thanks.
I installed this on a 2019 BMW X3 M40i. The step by step video by etrailer on how to install the hitch receiver is excellent. If you have the proper tools and a second set of hands, it should only take about 2 hours to install and reassemble everything. Note- the plastic rivet gun shown in the video works well but the one that etrailer offers now is not as good because the clearance between the wheel well and the tire is too small for the poly rivet gun; as a result, you need to take the tires off to get the plastic rivets installed correctly. Also, the written drawtite directions suggest using blue thread lock on the four bolts that hold the receiver to the car, the video skipped this step but it is probably a good idea to use thread lock.
The aftermarket hitch fit perfectly on our BMW X3. The online (YouTube) tutorial made it possible for me to do this work myself. Thank you.
Sometimes you come across a better price on something... it's $10 cheaper so you feel like you got a great deal. It's a good feeling right?
Buying this hitch easily saved me $1,000... and I mean it. I almost bought the other hitch. You know the one. The one that's all "stealth" like and whatnot. That would've run $900 + $350 installation.
This was $250 and I easily did it myself. All I had to do was follow the video. I'm quite handy but I've never worked on a car so I was a bit skeptical, but installation was a breeze honestly.
It probably took me 4 hours or so, but I took my time and had a few beers along the way. It came out great and knowing that I literally saved myself $1,000 FELT AWESOME!
Just go for it, you won't regret it!
I installed the hitch myself in my driveway. I'm a woman and was totally able to install it myself. I had a friend help a little but mostly to hand me tools and be an extra set of hands. I used other props as needed to help. I love the videos available on the site. I recommend watching a few of the videos available for the different brands of hitches for your car. The installation is 99% the same and you might see a different approach or visual to help you. I ended up following a video from a different brand that didn't make me remove the tail lights. Worth it! Before installing I did my homework. I watched the videos and bought the tools I was missing. It took me about 5 hours but I did have to stop part way through to buy another tool I was missing. It still cost less to buy the tools than to pay someone else to install it. You can totally do this yourself with time and patience. This is the second hitch I've bought from etrailers and I'd buy from them again in the future.
Installation video was spot on.
Took several hours to install.
Sturdy design.
The Draw-tite is a well made, heavy duty hitch. The only issue I have during installation was that the fender trim plastic rivets on my X3 were white, but the replacements from etrailer were black. Otherwise, installation went well, taking about 2.5 hrs to complete. Make sure you have the proper tools for removing the fascia.
Took me about 4 hours to install. The Drawtite hitch fit my 2022 BMW X3 perfectly with no modifications required. Be sure to have a plastic rivet tool before starting.
Very nice people! Was missing part to the hutch and they immediately replaced it no questions asked. Also great video to aid with installation.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be given the 2 hour estimate for install. It still took me longer but I took breaks. This arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered it. I had tried to get that company that rents trailers to install theirs but they could not be bothered to find the hitch for my X3 after holding my money for 3 weeks.
The hitch arrived right on time. My husband was able to follow the video exactly. He said it was easy. It fit our BMW X3 perfectly. We needed a cargo hitch for extra space for the family vacation. The hitch is very sturdy and well made. E couldn’t be happier!!
Fits great, easy to install.

It’s been great used the hitch several times to carry gardening soil and ground cover home.
When I placed the order it said shipping was 4-6 days for an additional $xx extra and then I received an email with a delivery date 15 days out. I called and spoke to Paula and idk what sge did but it worked! Got my hitch in time and then went to uhaul for install. Fits like a glove and now we can take our bicycles anywhere. Thank you. Definitely come back for more great products!
I had a great experience from ordering to installation. Shipping was fast, instructions were straight forward and quality was awesome! Would definitely order from etrailer again.
The hitch install on my 2016 BMW X3 went just like the video and written instructions. Was very nice not to have any surprises like so many other installs. Everything fit perfectly.
Excellent serve and quick delivery. I will definitely buy again from etrailer.
Took me just over an hour to install. The longest part was ensuring I didn't break any tabs on the body panel. The install video was spot on!
We are happy with our whole package including hitch, receiver, wiring and ball mounts.

Ive only used it once, but it worked fine. I expect it will work fine next time I need it. Installation went fine, although I had to grind the circular heads of two bolts to fit. I had a bench grinder, so that was easy.
I love the product that you provided. Advertised with the installation video is what sold me. The BMW dealer could not provide me a 2021 hitch as of yet so this is a great alternative. I was tired of waiting and then found you. Thanks

This is awesome. I have a bike rack and use the hitch continuously without a problem. Great product stjll.
Great quality product
Installed by our own on 2024 BMW X3 M40
The hitch works fine and installation was straightforward. I wasn't to keen to slice into the car taillight wiring, but was preferable to paying the dealer hundreds for their module. You should inform customers your trailer light module draws power from the battery and they should pull the fuse when the hitch is not in use to avoid draining the car battery.
I purchased the trailer hitch and the wiring kit for the tail lights. My 2016 BMW X3 is very complex but the wiring kit matched perfectly with no problem. The hitch however requires a fair level of expertise. It took me 4hrs. I'm a 76 yr old retired mechanic. It can be done!
I've now had the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver for a year. This was the second one I had installed on one of my vehicles. I use it mostly to transport road bikes, sometimes over long distances. It has worked as expected - flawlessly. After a year it shows no rust or other degradation. Draw-Title hitch receivers appear to be solidly constructed. I would not hesitate to purchase another should the need arise.

Excellent! We live in the North East and the salt has not affected the finish at all.
