Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement Trailer Hub Bearing. Now, this is a high quality tapered roller bearing. It's designed for high-speed use on your trailer. This is a replacement part that uses the industry standard number of L44649 you can see, which would be stamped on there.

It is original equipment quality. Now, the measurement on this, on the bearing, the inner diameter is the most critical measurement. So because it's within, or used thousands of an inch, I do happen to have a caliper here, digital caliper just to show you. And if we measure the inner diameter, you should be able to see 1.063. That's the inner diameter on this.

Now, the matching bearing race that this will fit into is part number L44610. We do sell that race separately on our website. Application for this bearing, it can be used as an inner or an outer bearing on the BTR spindle, or used as an outer bearing on the number 84 spindle. But that should do it for the review on this replacement Trailer Hub Bearing.

  • Replacement Hub, Bearings, and Grease Seal for 3,500 lb Dexter Axle
You are correct that is a 3,500 lb axle. If you want a bearing kit the # BK2-100 you looked at is the right one. This comes with a # L44649 outer and # L68149 inner bearing along with a # 58846 (10-19) grease seal. If you want a replacement idler hub you can use the # AKIHUB-655-35-K or for a hub and drum assembly the # AKHD-655-35-K. Both of these have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern.

  • Can I Add Electric Brakes To A 1993 EZ Loader Boat Trailer
Hello Mike. It sounds like you are wanting to add electric brakes to your boat trailer that currently has no brakes. This is possible, but you will first need to make sure that your axle is equipped with a brake flange at the base of the spindle. The brake flange is necessary for adding brakes. If you do have a brake flange, you will next need to determine your bearing sizes. Electric brakes will require new hubs and drum assemblies, and we need to be sure that there is a drum available...

  • Replacement Hubs for 2,700 lb Axle
Based on your photo it looks like you have 2,700 lb axles, and we do have hubs for that size axle. However, you will need to confirm the bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper to measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings...

  • Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatibility with Aluminum I-Beam Trailer Frame
The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with...

In order to determine if hub assembly 8-258-50UC1-EZ will work for you, first know that this assembly is for EZ Lube spindles that require a grease seal with a 1-1/2" inner diameter such as # RG06-020. You are also going to want to remove the hub and take a look at the bearing numbers to make sure your inner and outer bearings are # L44649. Normally that would be enough, but since you sanded the spindle, I also recommend you use a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 and measure the spindle...

The UFP H-1377 correlates to a Dexter #84 spindle, which is for a 3,500 pound axle. This will utilize an inner bearing # L68149 and an outer bearing # L44649. As this is being used on a boat trailer, I highly suggest going with the etrailer.com # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. This is galvanized and will be the best option available for your trailer. Hey Perry, thanks for reaching out. We certainly should have the parts you need for an oil bath conversion, but I will need to collect a bit more info on your axle in order to be sure you get the right parts. First I will need to know the weight capacity of each axle. That will help a lot to narrow down the right parts. I will also need to know the bearing sizes and seal size for your hub. • Upgrading Tire Size on a Harbor Freight Trailer
I do have a solution for you, but we do not recommend using vehicle tires on a trailer. Trailer tires are built with stronger sidewalls to help resist the load that is put on them, while vehicle tires are made for a more smooth ride.
