Most brake controllers clutter the cab, but this one mounts behind the 7-way connector at the back of the vehicle. The Redarc Tow-Pro Link hides the main module and keeps your interior free of bulky boxes or wiring. You can operate it through the Bluetooth remote or straight from the smartphone app, whichever you prefer, and it's also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for control and key info on your vehicle's screen. It's plug-and-play using USCAR connectors, so there's no splicing and no cutting needed.
The Tow-Pro Link uses a built-in 6-axis accelerometer and gyrometer to sense exactly how the vehicle is slowing down. It then applies the trailer brakes in perfect proportion. A firm stop means firm braking power, and a light pedal tap means gentle trailer deceleration. The result is even braking across your whole setup and less wear on tires and pads.
When traction changes fast, Off-Road Mode lets you take direct control of trailer braking. Set a fixed brake force so you're not relying only on what your tow vehicle is doing. Keep it low for sand or mud so the trailer doesn't dig in, or turn it up for a steep downhill to stop it from pushing forward. One quick tap engages the mode, and you're ready for uneven ground.
Trailer sway can start in a second on windy highways or when passing big rigs. With the Tow-Pro Link, all it takes is one push of the button to activate sway control. The internal sensors read motion through a 6-axis accelerometer and automatically apply braking power to straighten things out until sway stops.
Rain, dust, or rough roads won't slow it down-the Tow-Pro Link is rugged and waterproof with an IP67 rating. It works with trailers up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and is compatible with both electric and electric-over-hydraulic systems on standard 12-volt setups. This is a strong, sealed controller that's ready for heavy loads and long trips wherever you go.

I plugged it into the truck and it always says there’s a trailer on and there’s not I got a hold of red arc and there is a problem with it. They’re working on a fix but I was never told this after I bought it for $430.
I purchased a new 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness and recently had the dealer install the OEM hitch and wire harness. My dealer will not assume liability and install a third party brake controller which was no big deal to me since I had plans to purchase the Redarc Tow-Pro Link and just plug it in myself. When I crawled under my vehicle I quickly realized the USCAR 7 plug is wedged between the back of the hitch and the floor pan bump out where the spare tire rests. It appears the entire rear bumper must come off again and the hitch loosened to gain access to the plug which defeats the entire selling point of this product. I am sure this product is great if you have lots of open space between the rear tires and hitch. Now I have to either trust one of etrailer's recommended installers to disassemble the back of my new car, or spend more money and purchase the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite. Not blaming etrailer, but disappointed with my purchase nonetheless. Two stars because it isn't plug-and-tow friendly for everyone as advertised.

Sorry about that, Hans. This is the first time I have heard of this happening and it's good information to have, even though it's a bummer you had to find it. Let me know how you would like to proceed and I can definitely help you out. I did include our installer link for you as well in case you needed it. What are you going to be towing?

Works great!
Great product! Easy install and works great so far.
Very easy to install. It’s not confident and USB remote that it was connecting so it’s nice to use the app to connect and to set the settings. It’s a nice visual in the USB remote works fine.
Worked great and fit perfect. Took less that 30 minutes to install and get setup and calibrated!!
Fast delivery. Easy installation. The price is a little more than some other units but you will save time and money in the long run. No wires to run or complicated programming. FYI etrailer staff is the best
It looks very well made and nicely packaged. It was super easy to install and set up. The remote is nice but I especially like that i can control it through my phone or vehicle screen.
So far I have hooked everything up, which was very easy. My trailer is currently out of state but looking forward to seeing it work.

Nice! This thing is definitely an easy install! What vehicle did you install it on? Oh and what are your thoughts on the app? This is still very new to market so we are open to any and all feedback!
Installation was easy, took some driving to get it to sync, but it definitely worked good on our camper
This was super easy to install. Works great on my 2025 Ram 1500 3.6 pulling 6000# 2 axle Keystone Premier. Nice to see it on the app, CarPlay and the easily hidden remote. Can unplug and put away the remote when not in use. I didn’t have my trailer accessible when I first tried installing it so just know you can’t do any set up without the trailer connected.
After install into my 2017 Cayenne, all I got was a warning for trailer lights out, and the car assumed a trailer was plugged in, so it disabled the parking sensors and lane change assist. Controller never connected to the remote to finish learning as well as it was not being supplied the right signals from the OE trailer control module.
Overriding this and connecting it to the factory 4 pin plug under the dash got it to work perfectly, but required an adapter harness and an unacceptable amount of wiring under the dash. Redarc needs to offer this with the standard 4 pin plug for vehicles like mine. Returned it due to this.
DO NOT recommend for any VW/Audi/Porsche with a trailer control module part number starting in "7P0"
I like the Redarc Tow-Pro Link because the main module installs out of sight behind the 7-way, which means no bulky controller hanging under the dash. I also like that it uses Bluetooth, which means there’s no reaching under the dash to adjust gain. If your vehicle has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you can make adjustments right from the screen. If not, the included remote works just as well, which is especially convenient in states where it’s illegal to have your phone out while driving.
The sway control feature really stands out to me. It lets you press a button if the trailer starts swaying from wind or passing traffic, and the controller applies the trailer brakes only to help pull everything back in line. It takes the guesswork out of reacting in the moment and settles things down quickly without locking up the brakes. I also like having Off-Road Mode for gravel or loose surfaces.
This is a great option if you want a clean install without giving up strong, reliable braking.
Easy Install, Smart Design, Minor Cord Quibble
I recently purchased the Redarc off-road rated trailer brake controller and have been very happy with it. Even as an etrailer employee, I was genuinely excited to see this product hit the market, and after using it, it hasn’t disappointed.
Installation was about as easy as it gets. The physical install was quick and straightforward with no splicing, cutting, or fishing for wires. I mounted the control box to the frame above my spare tire, which keeps it protected from road debris and completely out of the way.
Calibration took a couple of short test drives to dial in, which has been my experience with other brake controllers as well. Once set, braking has been smooth and consistent.
One feature I really appreciate is the removable controller. When I’m not towing, I can store it in my center console. I also like that I don’t have to rely on my phone for brake control. I’ve used the Curt Echo before, and by comparison, using a phone for braking always felt a bit inconvenient.
That said, the app still adds real value. Being able to test my trailer lights from my phone is a huge plus and saves a lot of time compared to the usual back-and-forth or needing a second person. It’s probably my favorite non-braking feature.
My only downside is the corded controller. I’d love to see a future version with a USB-C connection instead of the standard USB.
Overall: 10/10, would buy again.

Sorry to hear that, Donald. This is definitely the first time I have heard this being an issue. What is the year, make, and model of your truck? And would you like to return this?
