Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Honda Pilot

Today on our 2011 Honda Pilot, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195. To ease our installation we'll be using the wiring adapter for electric brake controllers for Honda vehicles, part number 3070-P. Our Prodigy P3 is a truly proportional brake controller that will allow you control from 1 to 4 axles on your trailer. If you have a large trailer with 4 axles with brakes on them, not a problem. The P3 can handle it without any issue. Now if we press this button here, the little book button on the bottom right, that gets us to our setup menu. You can change your brake type, electric, hydraulic, over electric, but we'll just leave it on electric because that's what most trailer brakes are.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2003 Honda Pilot

Today on this 2003 Honda Pilot we're going to install part number 90885. This is Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller. We'll also be using part number ETBC7, Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers, and a bracket for our 7-pole connector which will be part number 18140, the Universal Mounting Bracket. First thing we're going to do is go ahead and get our vehicle ready. Our ETBC7 kit comes with a 7-pole connector and the brackets and all the hardware necessary for installation. However, this is designed to go only to a regular 4-pole flat. It really won't work on this type of specialized connector.
