This is going to work for one up to three axles. It's part number is TK90160. The Primus IQ, again, is a proportional brake controller, which is going to give us great advantages over the older time-delayed systems. With those systems it was a pre-set power range. You hit your brakes. The level of power escalates till you get to your top setting.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins insight flex mount trailer brake controller. Part number HM47297. On our controller switch there's a manual override, so if you needed to apply the brakes to your trailer manually simply squeeze in and apply pressure. This button with the plus and the minus on it is going to control your power sent to your trailer brakes. As you go up it goes up in increments of 5% and will do the same thing on the way down. The other side of that switch has an S on the button.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevy Silverado, we're going to be installing the Curt Discovery Time Delay Trailer Break Controller. Works for up to 4 axels. Part is C51120. We're also going to be using the Universal Wiring Adapter, part #C51515. The Curt Discovery's going to offer a push button activator, here on the side of it. Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado we'll be installing the CURT TriFlex trailer brake controller, part number C51140. Here you can see we've got two lights once we've got our key on and the trailer connected. That indicates that our brake controller is getting power and also that we've got our trailer connected. Our sync modes that we have here for the level 1, 2, 3, and 4, that's going to actuate our brake and see how quickly it goes on. Now, since this is a TriFlex or a sensing system, if we apply our brakes it knows we're sitting still. It's only going to give us about 1.5% gain.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part number 90885. Here's what our brake controller looks like once it's mounted. On the driver's side of the brake controller is a thumb wheel for adjusting the gain control. This will allow us to adjust our gain down or up as needed. Then, here on the passenger side of our brake controller, is our boost function, allow us to go to Boost 1, 2 or 3 as needed for more aggressive braking, depending on our trailer's size and load. Here at the bottom of our brake controller is the manual sweep. This will allow you to apply the trailer brakes without pressing on the vehicle's brake pedal. Now let's see what it looks like with our trailer connected.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be installing the Draw-Tite Activator IV. This time-delayed brake controller is capable of controlling 1 up to 4 axles. The part number on it is 5504. We're also going to be using the replacement brake control plugin harness, part number 20127. Here you can see once it's installed. As we activate the switch we're going to see our gain lowering and rising indicating that we've got it hooked up properly. Now a couple of nice features about it are that currently we've got our gain set to 10.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be installing the Curt Venturer. This time-delayed trailer brake controller is perfect for use with 1 to 3 axles. This part number is C51110. We're also going to be using the Universal Wiring Adapter, part number C51515. A great thing about the Venturer is the sync adjustment that's available on it. This little slide bar right here on the side, we can slide this forward or we can slide it back. Sliding it back towards us is going to give us gradual braking force, so as we apply the brake you're going to see this slowly work its way over to give us maximum brake engagement.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado we're going be installing the Draw-Tite activator. This is a trailer brake controller designed for use with one or two axles and it uses a time delayed set up. Part number is 5100. We're also going to be using part number 20127. This is the tow ready replacement wiring harness and we'll be able to connect that right into the truck's electronics. As we slide our bar in, we're going to have our red light indicating to right here that everything is working as it should. Right above that light and just to the right there's an output slide lever.

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller. This is a 1 to 4 axle controller and it's proportional. Part number is 39510. We're also going to be using the TrailerMate Universal Wiring Harness for the trailer brake controller. its part number is TM75127. You can see with everything hooked up, when your trailer is connected, you're going to have a green light there indicating everything is fine.

Dexter Axle Predator Electric Brake Controller Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be installing the Dexter Axle Predator. This is a proportional electric brake controller capable of handling two up to four brakes. Part number on it is 58-8. The Predator is going to offer us a lever activation right here. That's going to allow us to gently apply our brakes from inside of the vehicle without actually using the brake force here on the floor. As you can see, once we do press in the blank 00:30 on the floor, it gives us a reading of .17, but since this is an inertia-activated system, if we're not moving it's really not going to provide a lot of force to those brakes in the back. A great thing about the an inertia-driven system is that when we really have those emergency stops and we really have to stand on the brake, it's going to sense that and it's going to give us a lot more power back there to help us come to a stop.
