Recommended Brake Controller for a 2023 BMW X5 w/a Stealth Hitch Wiring Harness

Will the Tow-Pro Link work with a Stealth Hitch w/ wiring harness? Are there any issues the vertical plug orientation of the Stealth Hitch 7-prong plug? I have a 2023 BMW X5.

No, it will not Bryan. The Redarc Tow-Pro Link item # RED57AR requires a USCAR port that comes with factory tow packages. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit item # SH25VR, that fits your 2023 BMW X5, does not have this connector.
For a comparable remote brake controller, I recommend the Autobrake item # 3430001. This proportional brake controller that installs on your trailer and allows you to control the functions through the included remote. It'll be wired directly to your trailer's main wiring harness or junction box.
For a traditional dash type controller, I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite item # RED44FR. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your BMW. The Tow-Pro Elite has a unique installation method where the main unit is concealed behind your dash and the only part visible is the nickel sized control knob. The included wiring harness is all you'll need to get it installed.
The vertical 7-Way connector on the item # SH25VR is not going to cause any issues with these brake controllers. You just won't be able to use a Curt Echo with it.

Hi Jarred, Thanks for the reply. My stealth hitch was installed with the hitch kit that included a wiring harness and 7-way plug installed beneath the X5. Is that not the same thing as an USCAR port? Thanks!

Installed a Red Arc on my c5 with a Stealth hitch and it worked great. Just had to add the brake pedal position sensor and run one wire from the dash to the rear plug. Used a standard seven pin plus and tied in the back wire from the rear wiring harness. Worked great with our 4500 lb RV. So impressed that when I traded the x5 for a GV80 I installed the same Red Arc pro.
