Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a universal mounting panel for the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller control knob. This mounting panel creates a factory look for your vehicle's dash when you install the control knob from you Tow-Pro Elite brake controller. It works on dash panels that are up to nine thirty-seconds of an inch thick. It does come with detailed installation instructions. Then at the bottom of those instructions, it has a to size template. So, that's a drilling template that ensures accurate drilling and mounting of the unit in whatever area that you wanna mount it in.
It also comes with gaskets. These are adhesive backing gaskets to ensure proper installation if you're mounting this on a curved surface. So, drilling template, instructions, and self-adhesive foam gaskets are included. The overall measurements of the panel right here, it's about one and one-sixteenth by an inch and a half. I do have a control knob to show you how it installs. So, your control knob goes through the back here.
It has a small area for the LED light. Comes through, take the mounting nut that came with the control knob. That gets threaded on, and then the actual knob then gets placed directly over that. So, really nice design. Very clean look.
This is what it looks like once it's all the way installed. That's gonna do it for today's look at the universal mounting panel for REDARC Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller control knob.

Mounting panel creates a factory look for your vehicle's dash when you install the control knob from your Tow-Pro brake controller. Works on dash panels that are up to 9/32" thick. Drilling template and self-adhesive tape included.Got this to make sure the redarc tow pro elite was secure. Easy to install, only issue I ran into was the amount of space that it can sit into when installed. It's about an 1/8th of an inch worth of space that it can sit in
I installed the Redarc trailer brake in a 2017 Chevy Colorado. It was an easy install. This part made for a clean install.
Have a 24' toy hauler with two Silverados 1500 to tow a 15 and a 98. This is my second redarc brake controller for my back-up tow vehicle the 98. Bought it with a set of tibrens, well packaged and shipped fast. I have had problems in past with etrailer in their packaging multiple items together. Ex. the last redarc I bought I also ordered a class 4 hitch. Tha redarc was just tossed into the box for the hitch and was banging around no packing material etc. The hitch box was torn open in two corners during shipping. You would think common sense shipping a delicate electronic device and a big heavy hitch bouncing off each other use a little packing materiaL. Called etrailer and they said no to worry if it didn't work they would replace it. But still it could have all been avoided with a little packing material or ship them separate (each qualified for free shipping). Really like being able to mount the redarc control box in any position, plus saves the knees Never liked the ones that mounted under the dash. Just trying to look down and taking eyes of the road to manually activate them not good. Wish the control knob was bigger or the numbers were more visible otherwise your adjusting hitting the breaks adjusting hitting the brakes till you get it where you want it then you still have be able to see what the setting number is. But that aside i wanted a built in OEM look something that wasn't in the way when not using and not visible to thieves. On my 2015 Silverado (with a heat gun) bent a piece of lexan to mount the switch in the cubby hole where the OEM brake controller installs. So the knob is a small point compared to pluses, ease and versatility of install (other than drilling a hole for control knob, hint if you have dremel tool its a big help getting the shape of the hole just right.) The Tibrens love the first set that why i bought a second, you have about an inch inch and half of suspension travel till they engage so unloaded you have a regular smooth ride, but hit a dip in the road or pothole etc and you feel the tibrens engage. which really helps in not letting the front wheels become unloaded. Other than the packing issues have been happy with etrailer, price, shipping, there my first stop. Would like to see a few things, ex. a better selection of locks for the trailer, most are just an inconvenience to a thief with a sledge hammer and a chisel or a cordless sawzall. There are better security stuff out there.t
Product looks nice and fits the Redarc controller well, but the measurements for the cutout are a little too big, so the part fits loosely. I did make it work, though, with some electrical tape. This is in a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500
I installed this brake controller in a 2019 GMC Acadia with the factory tow package. Installation was very straight forward and only took about 45 minutes. The hardest part was locating the factory wire harness that ended up being in the front of the center console near the gas pedal. Operation is simple and works very well. This as close to a factory brake controller as you can get. I highly recommend it.
Works great with the Redarc Elite. Looks like a factory install. Only issue I had is I will need to shim it into the center as it has some play to the top and bottom (see photos). Otherwise, this is the reason I bought the Redarc, so I could have the look of a factory installed brake controller. Installed on 2017 Nissan NV 3500 Passenger Van.
Outstanding product! I had the Redarc brake controller installed at the same time my hitch was installed. We didn't use the RV for several months due to C-19 and when we did, I found the manual over-ride and changing functions on the controller did not work. I actually found that the control unit being installed without a "universal adapter plate" from Redarc was the issue as my dash material was too thick to allow the control head to sufficiently be pushed in far enough to activate the manual over-ride or change function action. I ordered the "plate" and it works beautifully and even looks more OEM. Highly recommend this product!!!
When adding a Tow-Pro brake controller, this makes the job complete, looks like a factory made job. Just what I was looking for.
Works great. No more banging your knee on the controller all the time. Excellent solution for a factory appearing installation and for an application with very limited space. And it is the best performing controller I have ever used. 5 stars for a great product and etrailer's outstanding service!
THE PRODUCT IS FINE,BUT I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH BRAKE CONTROLLER.
I know this is just mounting dohicky for my Redarc Trailer Brake but, it really completes the installation and makes it look professional. Very happy with this product.
I just pulled one of my 12v plugs out and pushed into factory center console. Works great and looks custom
1” hole is slightly to big. 15/16 would be better. A few wraps of electrical tape snugs it up.
Great product easy to install and mount with the additional "blank" plate insert (331-TPSI-001). Control is decent for setting initial setting, not sure about emergency stopping performance because I've been lucky enough to not have needed it yet. I installed mine with zip ties and have seen no issues with it after a year.
The 331-TPSI-001 switch insert adapter worked as advertised. It is actually simpler to install than the Redarc control dial and gives a much more professional look when finished. (Note - it does not have the e-trailer 'E' on it as shown in the sales picture).
Bought a redarc TowPro Elite for my 2018 Titan, as well as the trim plate to mount in the dash. Installation could not have been easier. I chose to connect the wiring to the factory brake controller wiring harness. Two screws to remove the lower half of the dash and I was testing the controller out in 45minutes. The unit works as a proportional or user controlled brake for my 20 foot enclosed trailer and works wonderfully, now I can take both my motorcycles to the mountains and know my trailer won't be trying to roll over me on the downgrade.
Great product , easy to install , with a nice positive click / lock in place !
Fits perfectly in standard switch enclo sures.
Nice finish to the installation of the brake controller
This is going to look neater on the das hboard.
Completed the look to seem as if it was factory installed.
Easy to install. Fit the blank on my dashboard perfectly.
Easy fit, nothing complex at all. Included foam spacers ensure a snug fit and give you some adjustability for the angle as well.
Worked like a charm and best of all it looks like it came from the factory.
Absolutely the easiest install and the highest trailer braking technology available. Installed it myself in my 2014 GMC Yukon Denali XL effortlessly!
