AFE Direct Fit Cold Air Intake System Installation - 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Today on this 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty, were going to install the AFE Direct Fit Cold Air system part number AFE51-10192. Our first step is going to be removing the negative battery cable on both sides. This particular application has two batteries. Im going to start with the passenger side. With the passenger side down well move over to the drivers side and repeat the same process. Now were going to go ahead and remove the cold air intake holes that connect to the air cleaner box.

AFE Air Intake System Installation 2005 GMC Sierra

Today on the 2005 GMC Sierra 1550 series, were going to be installing the AFE Intake Kit product number AFE51-10092. The kit includes the replacement air filter, the new intake tube, an intake adapter and two different couplers, hose clamps, the trim seal, and then the new intake housing. Once we've ensured all that's there, we can go ahead and start with our installation. The first thing we want to do before we start moving each stock intake system is to go ahead and remove the negative terminal from the battery. Well reinstall this once the new intake is in, that will allow the system to reset itself around the new intake system. Ok, moving on to the factory air intake, were going to first disconnect the mass air censor. There is actually a clip that's on here that we need to remove that first.

aFe Direct-Fit Cold Air Intake System with Pro Dry S Filter Installation

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series with a 5.3 liter engine we will be installing the AFE air intake system, part number AFE51-11752. The first thing we are going to do is remove the engine cover. It pops right off since it is a press fit. Next, we are going to loosen the clamp here that is attaching the tube to the intake housing and throttle body. We will do the same thing on the clamp on the other side. Next we are going to move over and disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Then we are going to remove the plastic line coolant brace from the intake tube. You can see this is a push rivet type connector. I an going to use a rivet removal tool, if you do not have one of these you can use a flat head screwdriver. Just slide it in there and separate the two. 1:00

AFE Air Filter Vendor Information

Advanced Flow Engineering. It was founded in 1999. The company started making the air filters in 1999. We started producing just air filters, which is gauze, oiled filters, high flow. The whole idea came from thinking about offering an alternative to what was on the market. We felt like there was not many choices in the marketplace. :25

Air Intake System Installation - 2005 Infiniti G35

Today on this 2005 Infiniti G35 we are going to install AFE part number AFE54-11092. What this kit is going to do is replace the stock intake tube on the vehicle. You can see it comes with a new bracket for the filter, replace the tube and all of the hardware and the adapters needed to install. Pop open the hood when you get to the engine compartment. The first thing you need to do is take off this plastic engine cover. That way we have better access to the factory intake tube. Start disassembling the intake tube. Take this bolt out, go over here and take this one off. Next we are going to remove the factory crank case line which is this tube. Loosen the clamp up, move it back. Now we can remove the wire harness for the MAF sensor, push down this tab and it should pop off. At this point we can start removing this entire assembly. 01:22

AFE Air Intakes Review

AFE offers two different types of intakes. We offer a stage 1 and a stage 2 intake. And a stage 1 intake is basically going to be an intake itself. It is going to be just the box. What we call a stage 2 is the intake where it actually has a tube coming out and can vary in different sizes and lengths. That is what we call a stage 2. 00:23Review-AFE-Air-Intakes

AFE Stage 2 Air Intake Review

Okay today we are actually doing a preview of a 2004 Jeep Unlimited Wrangler. We are looking at an intake produced by AFE, Advanced Flow Engineering. The intake that we have here is a stage 2. We do a different series of intakes. We offer stage 1, stage 2. Difference between a stage 1 and a stage 2 is a factory box. It is just a box in stage 1, when we add a torque tube it becomes a stage 2 in the AFE line up. We also offer sealed induction intakes which are completely enclosed for the people who like the sealed version. 00:36

  • After doing some research on your 2012 Ram 3500 6.7L and speaking with my contact at aFe, I could not find any known issues with the OEM sensors and an aftermarket intake system. The OEM sensors will be installed in the new intake system (see photo) and my contact at aFe assured me that you should not have any issues with your air sensors when you install the Cold Air Intake, # AFE75-12032, assuming there is nothing wrong with your sensors now.

The enclosed box systems will still have plenty of air flow, just not as much as an open box system. Another main difference between the open and enclosed systems is the noise level. The open system will provide a deep sound, kind of like a growl, that will be sl

  • Will aFe Cold Air Intake System, Part # AFE51-11302, Pass California DMV Inspection
  • California is the one state in the nation in which this product will not satisfy emission control standards (CARB). If you still have the OEM air cleaner, your best bet is to remove the aFe Intake System, re-install the OEM air cleaning system and have your required DMV visual inspection performed. I wish I could recommend you then simply re-install the cold air intake after the visual inspection, but since that would be illegal I can not safely recommend you do that.

  • Cold Air Kit Recommendations for a 2008 GMC Sierra with a 6.0 L and Mechanical Fan
  • The best option I can give you for a cold-air intake design on your 2008 GMC Sierra would be an AFE Cold Air Intake # AFE54-11071. The Bully Dog option that you referenced is only designed to work on vehicles with electric fans. The problem is that the aftermarket intake tube does not clear the fan shroud assembly. The # AFE54-11071 utilizes the factory intake tube so it will not interfere with the manual fan assembly.

  • Engine Showing Error Code After Installing Cold Air Intake
  • According to my research, the most common cause of having that code would be a dirty or improperly installed MAF sensor. Make sure the MAF sensor is fully inserted into the intake tube. Since your system uses an oil-based filter, there might have been too much oil on the filter, which in turn contaminated the sensor. You can pull the sensor from the intake tube, and use an aerosol based electrical contact cleaner on the sensor. A vacuum leak can cause the error code, as well. Make sure that

  • A cold air intake like the aFe Direct Fit Cold Air Intake System, # AFE54-10372, is a benefit to the engine because cold air is more dense and therefore is more readily combustible. It will also optimize airflow allowing the engine to breathe easier. A performance exhaust like the MagnaFlow Exhaust System, # MF15611, for club cab models with 63 inch bed or # MF15739 for quad cab models with a 63 inch bed, will also optimize airflow by reducing the back pressure. • Troubleshooting a Service Engine Soon Code after Installing AFE Cold Air Intake on a 2004 Ford F150
  • Most likely, the code has something to do with your mass air flow sensor. You should check that it is plugged in completely first and then check to see if the sensor itself is dirty. Sometimes with oil based filters oil can get drawn through the filter and get on the mass airflow sensor and cause a SES code to appear. The other issue could be the IAC, you might check to see that it is sealed and has not come unplugged. There is also the possibility you may have a vacuum leak which could cause
