Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Hubs and bearings seem to be of good quality. Made in china, but everything is now. Perfect fit. Very satisfied. Fast delivery.

by:

Hubs look good and hopefully won't rust like the last ones, although the lugs and nuts are still mild steel.

Everything works great!

by:

Everything went together great, and survived the Freshman year College Bass Fishing, over 5k miles.
I didn't use the provided seals & caps, I used Bearing Buddy.

by:

These Glavanized Idler hubs are a great product. Making the hubs galvanized is a nice feature that adds corrosion protection. I purchased them to replace the hubs on a older boat trailer that had multiple broken studs and damaged bearings. These etrailer hubs come with a new set of bearings (races pre-installed), seals, lug nuts and dust caps. Note: I am using bearing buddies instead of the stock dust caps. I like that this assembly does not have pre-greased bearings because I prefer to choose the brand of marine wheel bearing grease used. I am very pleased with the quality of the hub assembly.

by:

Easy hub identification for my trailer 2500 lbs, once you identify inner and outer bearing, just click on the bearing needed and the hubs will sort out for you from painted to galvanized, I had about 12 to choose from, so I chose the etrailer blue dot galvanized that were in the middle of the price range, comes with everything needed except washer and stainless steel cotter pin which I reused off of my hubs, these are not pre greased which enables me to choose a grease of my choice such as water displacing, easy installation, bearing buddies were also added to the project that went well with these hubs.

by:

The eTrailer team was once again amazing! Went into Will Call to try and replace some hub studs. They turned out to be a size no longer made. Lisa at etrailer took the time to help me find the perfect replacement idler hub for my boat trailer. Had it shipped to my house overnight. Found the installation video on the etrailer web site for this exact hub and within 30 minutes I had the old hub off and this new hub installed. This hub fit perfectly! Put this on an old Heritage Boat trailer replacing a Hayes hub (H-1377).

Once this was changed out I was immediately able to put my boat on the trailer and haul it down the road. I will be replacing the other idler hub and rear breaking hubs next so I don't have to deal with that same hub stud challenge.

by:

Great products and fast service. Every time I order service great.

Hubs are great no problems at all.

by:

Received items earlier than expected , everything fit perfectly so now I will order 4 more . Two to finish other side of trailer and the other two as spares , you can never be too safe ! The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that I had to run to auto zone for cotter pins , I know it doesn’t say it comes with cotter pins but I think they should ! I may update my review later when I get some miles on these nice hubs !

by:

The new hubs and bearings were easy to install and they have worked great. Thanks to etrailer I can safely tow my boat to the bay and enjoy time on the water again!

by:

Good product at an affordable price: My customer service rep, Jamie, was friendly and extreamly helpful

by:

This company sold me the hubs, claiming to have them to me in three days. I needed the hubs badly and quickly. They did not show up, and research indicated they were not going to show up for another week. I traveled 150 miles (300 round trip), bought the same hubs from a store. I put these hubs in the trash.

by:

Ordered this hub to replace one on my boat trailer. The page you have is very good as it helps you to pick the right parts. All I had to do was match the inner bearing and the outer bearing and bolt pattern. Perfect fit. I highly recommend e trailer and I'm sure I will use you again.

by:

another successful project completed !!

PB
blaster and Lubrimatic bearing marine lube (550 deg dropping point), highest on the market

by:

Great service, part was delivered earlier then expected and fit great! Would make more purchases in the future

by:

Complete waste of time and money. I bought both springs, and this set of u-bolts plates from etrailer for a new 2" square axle. The u-bolts are too short. I'd suggest someone buy a new tape measure.
I also had to grind down the spring center bolt as it stuck out of the small adapter plate and kept the spring from seating correctly (used the adapter palte which came with the springs instead of drilling a big hole in my brand new axle.)

It is getting harder and harder to get the parts I need from these folks.

Now waiting for parts to come from another vendor.

by:

IT WAS A PERFECT FIT WITH NO DRIVEABILITY ISSUES.

by:

Quick shipping, excellent packaging, hubs bering kit fit perfect n my axles

by:

Supply Chain Stinks! But Shawnee E with etrailer came through with options!

by:

Easy install on to my double axel EZ-Loader boat trailer. I replaced the factory oil bath hubs and brake drum units with these and a disc brake kit. I opted for Bearing Buddy's in lieu of the bearing end caps that came with this kit. My boat & trailer sees a lot of salt water/Puget Sound. It all works really good!

by:

Thank you for your prompt service

by:

If you are replacing the hubs on your saltwater trailer these will fill the bill. Each comes pre-greased for quick installation with lug nuts, cotter pin and grease cap, everything needed to install. They are of highest quality and galvanized for many seasons of use.

by:

A bit pricey especially when shipping cost more than the item. Items could’ve shipped flat rate box. Item it’s self is great.

by:

Rebuilt boat trailer and replace old hubs with these. Used boat this summer, lake is about 20 miles from home. Trailer pulls and tracks fine! Very satisfied!

by:

Very pleased with my first order from etrailer. I needed tech help in choosing the correct hub assembly. Hold time was frustratingly long (20 min.) on weekdays, but on Saturday morning I got through in five minutes. "Steve" was very knowledgable and helpful and steered me quickly to the correct parts. They shipped same day and arrived quickly and in good shape. Easy installation too.

by:

Bought 2 hubs to keep as spares for a a long tow. Fantastic deal for a hub complete with bearings, seal, lug nuts, and dust cap.
Etrailer.com is my first source for everything.

Appreciate all that information, but unfortunately we do not have a 2,700 lb spindle, or one with those bearings and seal. The best I can offer is to go up to a 3,500 lb spindle, and you'd also need new hubs. What you can use is the following: - #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/4" Diameter # TRU64FR - Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K I realize this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but I did want to mention...

This is a 5 on 4-1/2" idler hub for a 2,500 lb axle. Bearings, seals, races, grease cap and lug nuts are all included. I would love to help you upgrade your suspension components! I am guessing that you have 3,500 lb axles on your trailer but if you could verify that it would help me to make sure that I recommend the correct parts for you. Also, are you looking to add brakes to both axles or just keep them on one pair? You would get more braking power and less wear with brakes on all of the axles but if you only want them on one then that will also play into the parts.

Sounds like you are asking if using trailer center cap covers for the pilot hole will significantly increase the heat of a trailer hub. The answer is no, they would not.
