Features to know about

Smooth, Steady Towing Every Trip: 60" Axle with 48" Spring Centers

When your old axle wears out or bends, towing gets rough and unpredictable. This 2,000 lb trailer axle brings that stability back. It measures 60" from hub face to hub face and 48" from spring center to spring center, giving you a solid, balanced foundation. The built-in camber keeps the tires flat on the road for straight-line tracking and steady towing. You’ll feel the difference right away—no fuss, just a smooth, even pull behind you.

Strong and Reliable: High-Strength 1-3/4" Steel Tube Construction

Lightweight doesn’t have to mean weak. This axle is built from high-strength steel with a 1-3/4" diameter tube and welded-on spindles and spring seats for durability. The patented welding process gives 40% stronger welds that stand up to years of use. The underslung spring design keeps your trailer low and stable, making it easier to load and unload without losing strength or control.

Ready to Roll: Pre-Greased Idler Hubs with 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern

Forget about packing bearings before your first trip—these cast iron idler hubs arrive pre-greased and ready to go. They include bearings, races, seals, and 1/2" x 20 wheel studs with lug nuts, so you can mount your 8" to 12" wheels right away. The Easy Grease spindles have built-in grease zerks for quick maintenance, and the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern fits a wide range of standard wheels.

Built-In Confidence: Certified and Tested for Safety

This axle doesn’t just meet expectations—it’s tested and certified. It carries CSA, QAI, and SAE-N certifications, with extensive testing for performance and safety. Every component is designed to handle the rated 2,000 lbs capacity without compromise. Add in the limited lifetime warranty, and you’ve got a trailer axle you can count on mile after mile.

by:

The product was received as advertised and in good condition.
The price was competitive and service was exception.
I have purchased from etrailer in the past and will continue to in the future.

by:

everything arrived on time and I just finishrd putting it all together. Haven't tried it yet! It's a kind of unconventional Idea so not sure how it is going to work. If it doesn't it won't be any of your fault. It will be all on my shoulders. The parts are Top notch and service was great as always.

by:

the axle was good bad measuring on my part center to center holes was 1/2 inch off i had to lengthen the mounting holes, other than that (my fault ) it was great

by:

One of the easiest transactions I have done and fits absolutely perfect, thanks so much and will recommend etrailer for any parts needed. Fast shipping as well

by:

As far as expediting my order it was the best service ive had, i ordered my axle on sunday eve and it was ready to go that night. I wont be engaging my trailer project until spring but if its as good as other items i have ordered from etrailer then ill be very happy. Thank you

by:

The original axle on my trailer suffered a catastrophic event, making it absolutely unusable. The replacement from etrailer fit like a glove and installed in a very reasonable amount of time. I couldn’t be happier.

by:

I only received an axle, no idler hubs. As shown on the website and in the illustration above, I received only a straight axle with no idle hubs attached as expected. I am hoping for a quick and speedy resolution to this.

I'm sorry that happened, Jeffrey! We're in the process of getting those hubs to you.

by:

I purchased two of these axles to replace my old square ones. They appear to be good quality but they arrived damaged. The grease fittings on the ends were smashed because packaging wasn't adequate. I've emailed back and forth and was shipped the wrong parts for replacement. In the end I was told I'd have to cut the spindles off and replace them. All I need is new grease zerks that thread on the ends of the axles. Be prepared to purchase these on your own because customer service is subpar on a remedy and the way they package them for shipping does not prevent damage.

Its a shame that the end zerk fittings have arrived damaged. We recommend that the most cost efficient way to correct this, would be to replace the zerk fittings with part # Gzerk. I have sent this information over to our customer service department for them to get into contact with you.

@KateF Kate, we do an annual kayaking/ canoe trip to a small lake just Northeast of Yosemite national Park. We paddle in about 3 mi and then primitive camp for a week! Several years ago we converted an old Hobie Cat trailer into our 10 place kayak trailer.  On a trip to Deadwood reservoir in Idaho, the trailer undercarriage failed when both leaf springs broke in half. We had the redneck engineer the heck out of the trailer to get it all the way back to California. That's when we decided to rebuild the undercarriage and use all the components that we got from e-trailer.  Great prices, Great quality and that made the project really easy.

Yes, we try to stay competitive, and I really do enjoy working here because they want us to treat our customers like neighbors, I wouldn't have it any other way. Safe travels, and if anything comes up in the future always remember that etrailer has your back =)

  • Solution for Replacement Hub For 2k Axle With LM48548 Inner Bearing
The 1.375" measurement corresponds with the # LM48548. The closest thing to 1.255 I'm aware of is the # LM67048 which measures 1.250" for the inner diameter. One way or another, bearing combinations using the # LM48548 are obsolete so we do not have a hub that will fit. The best solution is to replace the axle with one that uses a modern bearing combination. To find a replacement axle you will need the hub face to hub face measurement. • Does e84YR Axle Come Overslung Or Underslung?
Hello Matthew, thanks for reaching out. As of right now, all of the axles we carry are underslung. Honestly, I wish we did carry overslung axles since they are becoming more common, especially of 5th wheels. There are talks about us making this happen, but there is no ETA for when we would actually carry that. For now the only option would be to get the axle along with a few loose spring seats part # TRSS175 and have them welded to the top of the axle. The # e84YR axle you were looking...

If that’s the route you’re taking, I’ll need the inner diameter of your axle beam. For a full axle replacement, the shortest...

  • What is the Total Length of the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs With a 60" Hub Face
Hey, Robert. I took a walk out to our warehouse to check the total length of our etrailer axle, part #e84YR, for you. The axle itself measures 65" long. Once you install the hub and grease cap, that will add to the overall length. To play it safe, it’s reasonable to assume an additional 4" total. So you’re looking at a total length of about 69". If the inside of your trailer is only 6' wide, you wouldn’t have much wiggle room at all. I attached a photo of a fellow customer that installed...

Having wheels and tires with higher weight capacities means that the tires will not flex as they should for that load. Which will cause the trailer to bounce more and add additional stress to the axle and suspension being used.
