Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

by:

Another great product to add to my list. Always a pleasure to do business with these people.

by:

Perfect fit and easy installation

by:

Hubs were what we needed at a good price.
Customer service was excellent, Diana A was very friendly & helpful.

by:

Nice products, everything went together without a hitch.

by:

I put the new hub assembly on for my Lil' Hobo retro camper trailer. The hub assembly doesn't come with a washer and nut for the spindle, so you need to save your old ones or buy these separate if you don't have them. I put it on with new tires and wheels, upgrading from a four bolt to five bolt pattern.

by:

The hub cover was bent the one with the rubber center in it it was bent and unusable

by:

My order arrived promptly and was exactly what I needed. Great service once again.

by:

Converted my trailer to 5x4.5 so I could use standard rims. Everything worked great. I ordered 2 drums and 2 hubs. Everything included.

by:

My trailer originally had 5/ 4.75 hubs but decided to change to 5/4.5 hubs since my other trailer has the 5/4.5 hubs. Very happy with my purchase.

by:

Not much to see, but here are pics of the installed new hub and Bearing Buddy.

by:

Fast delivery
...the hub and bearing
set should include cotter pin had to replace them and for an additional couple of cent it far to Loews.
Thanks anyway

by:

Just a quick note to say thank you to eTrailer for not only the quality of parts received but also to Melissa for the dedicated service and attention that was given to me when placing my order.

THANK YOU MELISSA for all of your help!
Looking forward to my next purchase!

by:

Easy to order and a perfect fit.

by:

Great service and quick delivery. Have used their service several times and have always been impressed with their service.

by:

This hub came quickly and worked fine for my application.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to replace my hubs. Came greased and ready to go, and was a cost effective replacement with quick shipping.

by:

Product works great and was easy to install. I don't think it came with the castle nut pin, which might be problematic for some people who don't have hardware collections at their work space. It might help those who are unfamiliar with hub installation to get an install guide with the product. I could see someone over tightening the castle nut and ruining their new bearings.

Comments
Great! I checked them after about 250 miles of use and they were still tight and in great shape. They were exactly as described and perfect for my application.

by:

I ordered two of these and both came quickly and exactly what I ordered. Excellent product for the money.

by:

Fast shipping and top shelf customer se rvice

by:

Product was as described, but took over 10 days before it left the warehouse, even though the website said in stock. Called twice first time I was told on a Saturday that it would ship on Monday.I could see online that it hadn’t ship on Monday afternoon. I called back Monday and was told a couple more days. They said it was a busy time of year and it was at another warehouse and nothing more could be done.It was close to two weeks total before I had parts in hand. Again website said in stock

by:

Thanks a bunch. Quick service excellent product.

  • Pre-Greased Trailer Hub for 2015 Jayco Jayflight 185 RD
Since your 2015 Jayco Jayflight 185 RD has a 3,500 lb axle the pre-greased hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K is the correct fitting hub. It looks like you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern too so that matches as well.

  • Replacement Idler Hub for Boat Trailer With 3500 lb Axle
For a 3500 lb axle, each hub would be rated for 1750 lbs, but would still be referred to as a '3500 lb hub'. If your existing hub uses a L68149 inner and a L44649 outer hub with an Inner Diameter of 1.378 and 1.063 inches respectively, you do indeed have a typical 3500 lb axle and the etrailer branded # AKIHUB-545-35-K hub would be the correct replacement, assuming your existing wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This being said, since this is for a boat trailer, I'd recommend...

  • Correct Hubs for Boat Trailer with L68149 and L44649 Bearings
The correct trailer idler hub for your boat trailer is the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles part # AKIHUB-545-35-K or part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K if you have zerk fittings on the spindle. These are both pre-greased so there is no mess to be had.

  • Can Standard Hubs Fit as Replacement to EZ Lube Hubs
Standard hubs can easily replace EZ lube hubs. From a hub point of view the only difference is the center plug on the dust cap being present on the EZ lube style hubs and not being there on the standard hubs. The standard dust cover that came with your hub most likely would work fine too. Most are deep enough for the added length of the zerk fitting on the spindle. If yours fits currently with the standard cap you are totally fine.

  • Picking Out Replacement Hubs for 2006 Shorelander Trailer
I tried looking up your trailer info and it could have a capacity of between 2,300 and 3,500 lbs which means MOST LIKELY you need 3,500 lb hubs # AKIHUB-545-35-K but you'll want to pull the hubs off of your current trailer to verify this. If the bearing numbers you have currently in your hubs are L68149 and L44649 this is correct. Or if the spindle measured 1.38 and 1.06 inch where the bearings ride this would also confirm this. You are going to need to measure your current axles in a few places to get the correct one as we don't have access to what your numbers reference. You will need to measure from hub face to hub face and then from the spring seat centers. You will also need to know what bolt pattern you have on your current hubs. I attached a help article on how to determine this as well. I also attached a link to a page with all of the axles we carry.

You can typically narrow it down with the axle capacity and the bolt pattern of the hubs, which you know. However, the most reliable way is to pull the hubs off and check which bearings are in the hubs.
