Plug-and-play custom harness gets turn and brake signals on your towed car with no hardwiring or splicing, and no effect on your warranty. The built-in diodes protect your car from electrical feedback.

A combined lighting system, or 2-wire system, uses the same light bulb to signal both braking and turning. (In other words, the car signals a turn by flashing the brake light.)
A separate lighting system, or 3-wire system, has the brake signal and the turn signal light up independently of each other. Typically, the turn signal is amber.
To keep the separate lighting system on your car functioning properly while you're flat towing, add a wiring converter (118158 - sold separately) and 2 additional diodes.
If the engine is off and your car's brake lights illuminate when you press the brake pedal, you need to install a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) with this kit. Without a relay, your car's brake signal will override the turn signal sent by the RV when you are slowing down to make a turn, creating a potentially dangerous situation. Other drivers will see that you're slowing down, but not that you're making a turn. With a brake light relay, you can signal both and travel safely.

Does what it is supposed to do!
Every thing was plug and play. I won't know if it works until I tow. Had to install RM88400 but that's another review.
I have made purchases for two different vehicles. Both were used for four wheel down towing. Each time etrailer gave me correct information on the products and promptly shipped and delivered them. Best of all they fit correctly and no surprises. I will use them again.

I installed this harness in my 2013 Honda Fit. The installation was simple. This option uses the brake light for the turn signal vs. utilizing the dedicated amber bulb, but it works just fine. I also have a Roadmaster Even Brake that did require the brake switch relay for this setup to work properly since the brake light and turn signal uses the same bulb.
Arrived on time. quality made product and easy to install. I actually ran the 4 pin connector wire to the front of my 2013 Honda Fit via the front and rear door thresholds. Once I reached the brake pedal I removed the side panel where the hood latch is located and fed the wire through the rubber grommet hole for the door electric switches. I then used a coat hanger and pulled the wire through the inner fender and down to the front grill. Under the hood I clean it all up with some zip ties. This will keep the line from being exposed to the elements.
After a year of on the road the lights function perfectly

I run one extra wire to my motorhome with a small light on instrument panel to tell me

The kit worked perfectly with the assistance of etrailer's U-tube tutorial. The hardest part of the job was finding a wire route under the car since there are very few fastening points for the cable ties.

Product worked great. I chose to route the wiring inside the vehicle under door trim. It was actually pretty easy. I went through the firewall where the large bundle goes through above the brake peddle for a very clean install. Super easy install in the back.
