This Dexter hub-and-drum assembly comes pre-greased and ready to go—no need to pack bearings by hand or install seals yourself. It includes the inner bearing (L68149), outer bearing (L44649), races, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and 1/2" lug nuts so you can bolt it on and be back on the road fast. It fits 3,500-lb E-Z Lube trailer axles with #84 spindles, giving you a direct-fit swap that saves time and cleanup.
Built for confident stopping, the 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide drum provides the braking surface your electric or hydraulic shoes need to grip evenly. The sturdy iron construction holds up under load, and the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern matches most standard trailer wheels. Each hub supports up to 1,750 lbs, giving you dependable performance on a single or tandem axle setup.
The included E-Z Lube grease cap lets you add grease through the zerk fitting on the spindle without pulling the hub apart. Just pop out the rubber plug, connect your grease gun, and pump until the fresh grease flows through to both bearings. It’s a simple way to keep bearings lubricated and prevent corrosion without the mess or downtime of a full teardown.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Received my drums along with brakes assembly which were packaged very well, being the drums were on the heavy side. Assembled the drums and shoe assembly in a couple of hours was ease. No problems with fit or missing parts.

The drum/hub comes with everything needed including two types of bearing caps. One with a rubber plug and a standard metal cap, this helps if you have a grease fitting on your axle. Especially love the packaging eTrailer uses, product arrived without any damage. Thanks eTrailer!
Everything arrived in good shape. Haven't installed do to weather. Was missing one plastic wire fastener on one of the breaks. On rechecking the web page I see that the nuts to secure the break to the trailer were to be purchased separately, had I noticed that I would have included it with my order. No problem was able to purchase 8 nuts and washers for $2.00 at a local nut and bolt dealer. Appreciate your help with my purchase and will deal with you when I need more items for my utility trailers or camping trailer.

The brakes from etrailer were of excellent quality. They installed easily, and no adjustments were needed for the installation. After bleading the system, the brakes worked fine. I will definitely recommend etrailer to my friends and relatives needing trailer parts and accessories.
Really detailed helpful videos made installation a snap. I put brakes on a trailer that didn’t have them.
A word of caution. Unlike the brake kit, the drum kit only does one wheel. So if you order a brake kit and a drum kit you don’t have enough to do two wheels.
Great Price on a new brake drum for my Casita. Included everything - bearings, seals, dust cap, retainer, axle nut and lug nuts. Did not include the washer, but that's no big deal (I have a few extra!). Arrived much faster than expected, too. Got my Casita back on the road after a bearing failure that scored the inside of the hub. Great price and good service from etrailer! I must also mention that etrailer has so much good INFORMATION and tutorials as well. There might be other online sites that have it for a penny cheaper, but they don't have the information you need to get the job done right. Thanks again etrailer!

I purchased a used cargo trailer. We used it in October to go to Colorado on a hunt. We had a horrible time with the brakes failing. I tore it down this Spring and found there were no brakes on the front axle. I started checking around locally and could not find the parts I needed. I found etrailer online and took a chance and ordered(something Idon’t do shop online)the parts I was sure I needed. The parts arrived Tuesday and I installed them today. Everything was just as advertised and the fit was exact. Now I just need to get two new tires and wheels and the trailer will be ready for our trip to Colorado this year. Thanks E-Trailer.

We have been going camping out West snd Southwest for five years now. Pulling 2003 Jayco 12 Sd popup behind 2006 Chevrolet Express 2500. A lot of mountains. Big Mountains. I noticed that the hydraulic brakes on the camper didn't work properly. I have tried to adjust them multiple times but it didn't help. I decided to replace them with electric brakes . It looked like etrailer had exactly what I needed. I ordered the electric brakes assembly first and then hub and drum assembly. Had to take some measures for the brake plate mounting and also get part numbers of the old bearings in the hub. All parts arrived two days after order was placed. Amazing. All the parts were there. . I am not the greatest mechanic but I was able to install them fairly quickly. Installation videos on etrailer website and YouTube were very helpful. We just went on our first camping trip this year. Only two hours drive. It seems that everything works fine I can feel that new brakes actually work. Thanks to Nicole at etrailer for helping me with this order.
I was a bit intimidated by the thought of taking apart my hubs and had no idea where to start. But the etrailer live chat gave me a complete parts list based on my trailer GVWR, I watched a couple of videos on the website, and then spent about 1.5 hours on the job (honestly, at least 45 mins was me figuring out where I wanted to run the wire and strapping it in, then stopping to drink a beer and admire my work, with the actual hub work taking less than 20 mins apiece).
I was able to install the new whip, box, and run power to the hubs in about an hour afterwards. I then got in the truck, toggled to my trailer braking control, set my sensitivity, and went for a test drive. Works flawlessly!
installed brakes on my 97 Rogue boat trailer. E-Trailer had everything I needed for the job. Trailer already had the 4-hole mounting plate for the backing plate. It was all bolt on, brakes work great. I have bought quite a few items from them over the past few years, including an axle assy with brakes for another boat trailer, 2 brake controllers and also a trailer hitch for our older Lexus suv. I am very satisfied with there service and quality of there merchandise.
Got this with a 10 inch trailer brake. Everything was as expected. I had to buy a couple nylock nuts from Menards. They are 7/16 by 40 pitch. Which is a fine thread.
Everything worked out great, got home from work and put the new hubs on and trailer is good as new.
Bought new Dexter brakes and drums to replace the original brakes on my 1995 Haulmark car trailer. The original drums and magnets were badly worn, and I wanted to replace them before going to the car cruise in Ocean City. The Dexter parts are working great so far! Although I only used the trailer twice for about 450 miles total. Ive always had good service from etrailer. Thank you for the follow up, I appreciate it.
Good Quality, only reason for a 4 and not a 5 is bearings have very little grease in them and were already installed with the bearing seal installed
Exactly what I needed and bearings were already greased. Made t g e installation quick and easy.
They installed easy and work as expected. I converted a non-brake trailer to have brakes.
These drums worked great and I appreciate that they include new, pre greased bearings. It was super easy to get the old bearings and hub off and install this new drum. I intentionally bought brand name and they are more expensive than the store brand. While I don’t know what I get for the extra $$$, they do work perfect and I’m happy with the value for the money!
