Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Replacement Hub/Drum And Brakes For a 2018 CrossRoads Cruiser Aire 28RD With Lippert 4.4K Axles
I understand your confusion Tom, as your LCI4.4K axles are most likely going to have the 10" Lippert Electric Trailer Brakes # LC66WD. Lippert bases their 4.4K axle on a 3,500lb axle platform while most other manufacturers base it on a larger 3" axle tube with stronger components. This is why you are seeing the 12" brake option and as RV manufacturers often change change parts on trailers based on what is available and cost this is why you will see 2 of the same trailers with different...

  • Replacement Brakes and Hubs for a Vintage Trailer with Warner Brakes
Unfortunately, we do not have the 14” diameter x 2” wide braking assemblies you need for your trailer. I also did some searching online and could not find any replacement parts for you either. The only option I can offer you would be to replace with a more common size. In order to do so I would need you to measure your brake mounting flange bolt pattern in addition to your inner bearing, outer bearing, and grease seal. I have attached a help article on how to measure the bearing/seals for...

  • Looking For Replacement Hub For RVD-H-65535 On A Lippert 4,400 lb Axle
Hello Lance. The RVD-H-65535 hub you mentioned uses the same bearing sizes as a standard 3,500 lb axle, only it has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. The # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K hub will be the correct replacement as this has been confirmed to work with 4,400 lb axles as well as 3,500 lb axles.

  • Replacement Timbren Axle-Less System and Hydraulic Brake Assembly for 3,500 lb Axles on Boat Trailer
I would love to help you upgrade your suspension components! I am guessing that you have 3,500 lb axles on your trailer but if you could verify that it would help me to make sure that I recommend the correct parts for you. Also, are you looking to add brakes to both axles or just keep them on one pair? You would get more braking power and less wear with brakes on all of the axles but if you only want them on one then that will also play into the parts.

  • Replacement 3500 lb Hub/Drum for TruRyde RVD-H-65535 10 Inch Trailer Brake Drum
The hub you describe is a 3500 lb 10 inch hub/drum with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern which uses an L44649 outer and an L68149 inner wheel bearing and a 58846 grease seal. For a replacement, I'd recommend the # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K hub/drum. The hub/drum includes the inner and outer bearings, races, the grease seal, dust caps for both EZ Lube and standard spindles as well as lug nuts. The hubs are pre-packed with grease. For replacement brake assemblies, I'd go with # AKEBRK-35-SA self-adjusting...

  • Replacement Trailer Hub Assembly with 1-1/4 Inch Inner Bearing and 1-1/8 Inch Outer Bearing
The closest hub assembly we have available to the specs that you mentions is with a 3,500 pound hub like the etrailer.com # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K. This hub does have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It uses # L68149 for the inner bearing (1.378 inch inner diameter) and # L44649 for the outer bearing (1.063 inch inner diameter). Since the measurements need to be exact, I recommend verifying the measurements you took on your bearings with a digital caliper to see if this will work. You can also...

  • How to Determine if Trailer has 84 Spindle to Pick Out Replacement
In order to verify the spindle dimensions so that you can pick out the correct hub/drum you have to get exact dimensions. For that you need to use a digital caliper like part # PTW80157. For how old your trailer is this is especially important as the standard spindles sizes have changed since 1969. An 84 spindle would measure 1.06 where the outer bearing rides, 1.38 where the inner bearing rides, and 1.73 where the seal rides. For a hub with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern that would fit...

  • Can 3,500 lb Hub and Drum Be Used for 4,400 lb Lippert Axle
We have it, the etrailer Hub and Drum # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K, listed out for a 3,500 lb axle (and we break the math down on the product page) but when it comes to the hub side of things it's more about making sure it physically fits so since the bearings and seal match what you have with your #84 spindle, this hub will safely work with your 4,400 lb axles.

To swap out your hub/drum assemblies to a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern you'll need to measure the axle spindle at points B, C, and D with a set of calipers # PTW80157 so that we can see which assembly has a matching bearing and grease seal.
