Hub/Drum and Brake Assemblies that Fit Trailer Spindle Dimensions of 1.06 and 1.36 inch

Updated 05/13/2025 | Published 05/03/2025

Question:

Im swapping axles on a Scamp 13 camper trailer with 7 electric brakes and 5x4.5 bolt pattern. 2,000 lb axle weight rating applies to both axles. The spindles on the axle Im swapping out measure a constant 1.06 in diameter from inside to outside. The spindles on the axle Im swapping in measure 1.06 in diameter on the outside, but 1.36 on the inside. I may be off by a thousandth or two either way. Does eTrailer have a hub and drum assembly that fits the new 7 electric brakes I bought from etrailer and the spindles Im swapping in? Would more detail from me help? Thanks

Hey Vince, thanks for all of the info on your spindle. Based on that what you have it is actually a spindle for a 3,500 lb axle so you'd need a larger hub and drum like the part # 84546UC3-EZ which is a 10 inch diameter hub/drum. Then for brake assemblies you'd need the part # AKEBRK-35 for a set of left and right assemblies.

Sometimes for off road axle setups they will actually uprate the spindle that is used to give it a little more strength. But to translate what your spindle dimensions are the 1.06 inch diameter is for the outer bearing and the 1.36 is where the inner bearing will ride. Does your axle have a capacity listed on a sticker on it?
