Replacement Hubs and Brakes for 2022 Forest River Flagstaff MAC 425M

Published 03/24/2026

Question:

Hi Robin, I attached a photo of the Dexter axle information from our pop up camper. The camper information is below. 2022 Forest River Flagstaff MAC 425M with EZ-Lube hubs and Nev-R- Adjust electric trailer brakes. . I would like to replace the electric brake assemblies on both sides and the Hub and drum assemblies complete on both sides. Do the hub assemblies come with Timken bearings, races and seals or are they Chinese bearings? Can you recommend which parts I would need to complete these repairs. Thank you, Brent

Hey Brent, welcome back! For replacement brakes you need the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-468-469. You can also use our etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA if you want to save some money.

For the hubs I'm assuming you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. For a Dexter replacement you need # 84546UC3-EZ. If you want to use our brand we have the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K as well. Both of these are pre-greased and the bearings won't be made in the USA (China or similar).

None of the hubs are going to come with Timken bearings so if you want them you will have to purchase # TMK52VR separately. If you're going to swap out the bearings it would be better to get # 84546UC3 which isn't pre-greased. It doesn't have an EZ-Lube dust cap but your old ones can carry over if they're in good shape or you can pick up # RG04-040 to replace them.

Hey Robin, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. If I go with TMK52VR and # 84546UC3, I would need to remove the bearing races that come pre-installed in the hubs and install the Timken races to match their bearings, correct? Thanks again, Brent

@Brent you're welcome! That is correct, you will have to remove those and replace them with the Timken. If you have any other questions let me know.
