Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Bearings Races Seals Caps - Bearings - 15123

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we take a look at this replacement 15123 trailer hub bearing. Now, this is a replacement tapered roller bearing. It's designed to fit to 5,200-pound, 6,000-pound and 7,000-pound axles. It is designed for high speed use and the bearing is always stamped with the industry standard part number. And if you look right here, you'll be able to see it, 15123.

Now, the bearing raise that this will sit in and operate, we do sell that separate on our website. That goes by a part number of 15245. And then the measurement on this, the important measurement is the inner diameter and on this one, it's 1.250. It is a stamped steel construction. Now, when this is installed on the spindle, it would need to be lubricated with either wheel bearing grease or oil.

But that's going to do it for a look at the replacement 15123 trailer hub bearing.

  • Pre-Greased Replacement 5-on-5 Hub for 3500-lb Dexter Axle
You can confirm the weight rating of your Dexter axle by removing one hub and pulling its bearings. The included photo shows how part numbers usually appear on bearings. The specific bearings used will tell you the axle's weight rating. Just refer to the linked article that lists the bearings commonly used for various axle weight ratings. A new hub must use the same bearings as the original hub in order to fit on your spindles. A 3500-lb axle commonly uses bearings # L68149 and # L44649...

  • Can a Hub with Outer Bearing 15123 and LM67048 Both Fit Same Spindle
The inner diameters of the LM67048 and 15123 both are the same (1.250 inches). That means that a hub with either bearing in the outer bearing would fit your spindle. The part # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K would fit your axle.

  • Replacement Bearing Kit For Dexter 6,000 lb Axle 2266389
Hey David, thanks for the picture. I was able to track down a spec sheet for your Dexter axle which I have included below. The 031-029-02 bearing is item # 15123 and the 031-030-02 bearing is item # 25580. For a bearing kit you can use part # BK3-110 which will come with both bearings, races, grease seal, spindle washer and cotter pin.

  • Recommended 5 Spoke Hub For M1102 Military Trailer
The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 6,000-lb and 7,000-lb Axles - 12" - 5 Spoke Utility # 8-174-5UC3 is the only hub that is compatible with those bearing inner diameters. This uses # 15123 which have the same inner diameter as the # 14125A, it simply uses a different race so it will be compatible.

  • Parts Needed to Convert Military Trailer M105A2 to Electric Brakes
We've had this question before and we were able to determine that your M105A2 either uses a 5200 lb or 6000 lb axle so for hub drums you most likely will need the part # AKHD-655-6-K. This hub and drum comes with inner bearing part # 25580 and outer bearing part # 15123. It fits a 12 inch diameter brake assembly. You do want to check your existing bearings for their bearing numbers. There should be bearing numbers stamped on the side. If there is not numbers stamped on the side you can...

  • Replacement Hubs And Brake Assemblies For A 2006 Colorado 5th Wheel
Hello David, I can definitely point you in the right direction. The Lippert 5,200 lb axles will use the standard 12" x 2" brake assemblies. For that I recommend the etrailer Rust-Resistant Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-D. This comes with a pair of Dacromet coasted electric brake assemblies. As far as the hubs, it is not quite so cut and dry. The 5,200 lb axles generally use a # 25580 inner bearing and a # 15123 outer bearing. Given that your axle is almost 20 years old, it may not...

Hello Dustin, thanks for reaching out. We actually carry conversion kits that are made specifically for this purpose. For your boat trailer with 6K Dexter axles, you can use the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Disc Brakes # HBA16-252-82 which will come with everything you need minus the disc brake kit itself. For a disc brake kit I recommend the DeeMaxx Disc Brakes # DE58YR. This kit comes with stainless calipers and the rotors use a rust-resistant Maxx coat which is...

Hey Randy, thanks for the information. Do your 2021 Keystone Passport wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2" lug nut pattern or a 6 on 5-1/2 lug nut pattern? You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment. The Dexter 4,400 lbs axles use the same hubs as 3,500 lbs axles, which have item # L68149 inner and item # L44649 outer bearings. The issue with the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Hubs item # DE89YR are you have to jump down to 3,500 lbs setups which only...

  • Can A Hub With A 15123 Bearing Be used To Replace A Hub That Used An LM67048 Bearing?
Hi Aaron! That said, make sure the inner bearing is either a # 25580 or has a 1.75" inner diameter and the seal is either a # GS-2250DL or has an inner diameter of 2.25" as well. These are what come with the # TRU38AV hub/drum. As long as all these...

Hey there Mark! That's a great idea to stock up on some spare parts. Most people don't have the foresight like that. You will need either Bearing Kit, 15123/25580 Bearings, GS-2125DL Seal # BK3-110 or Bearing Kit, 15123/ 25580 Bearings, 10-36 Seal # BK3-100 depending on if you have the 2.125" or 2.250" inner diameter seal. You likely have the 2.250" I.D. seal but you'd need to check the part number or measure the seal to verify, unfortunately. The only difference in the kits is the grease...

  • Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatible with Jeep for Matching Trailer
For the Timbren Axle-Less kit compatible with the bolt pattern of 5 on 5 like a Jeep, you would need the 2,200 lb capacity # ASR1THDS03. The spindles on the Timbren system are a little larger than their thru-axle counterparts, so the 3,500 lbs # ASR3500S06 will only fit larger hubs that won't have the bolt pattern you seek. Using # ASR1THDS03, you can then use the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 5 # AKIHUB-550-35-EZ-K or the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly...

You need to take apart your old hub in order to find out if you have the same bearing numbers. If so hub and drum assembly # AKHD-550-35-K will work; for an idler hub assembly # AKIHUB-550-35-K would be the right choice. I've added a link to video reviews of these parts for you...

  • Determining Capacity of an Old Trailer Axle with No Information on the Axle
The 15123 bearing is still common but I could not find any information on the 09057 bearing. But given that your hubs have the 4 bolt pattern it is likely that the axle is rated under 3,000 pounds. Most likely it is a 2,000 pound axle. Measure the spindle where the 09057 bearing rides using calipers such as # PTW80157 I can see if there is a different bearing with the same inner diameter that is commonly used with 15123 and go from there. Since you still have the trailer frame as well...
