Looking for a 5 lug hub to replace an 8 lug hub on my m1102 military trailer. This is from the parts place: The outer bearing number is a 14125A. The inner is a 25580.

The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 6,000-lb and 7,000-lb Axles - 12" - 5 Spoke Utility # 8-174-5UC3 is the only hub that is compatible with those bearing inner diameters. This uses # 15123 which have the same inner diameter as the # 14125A, it simply uses a different race so it will be compatible.

Are there any other brake drum hubs compatible besides the 5 Spoke Utility hub you list? Please list brake drum hub part numbers.

@Ken Hello Ken, I am taking it that you are looking for a hub with bearing numbers 14125A and 25580, those hubs actually have a 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. So if your axle capacity is 5,200 lbs - 7,000 lbs then you will need Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles - 12" - 8 on 6.5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K. If that does not match up to what you are looking for, please let me know your axle capacity, bearing numbers, and bolt pattern so I can get you the right part.

@KateF Kate...Thank you for the reply. I really need a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, but I'm told that is not available with the M1102 specs of: Inner Bearing: M1102: 25580 (1.75" ID). Proposed Hub: L68149 (1.378" ID). Difference: 0.372" (9.45 mm). The L68149 is significantly smaller and won’t fit the M1102’s spindle, which requires a bearing to match the 1.75" inner journal. Outer Bearing: M1102: 14125A (1.25" ID). Proposed Hub: L44649 (1.063" ID). Difference: 0.187" (4.75 mm). The L44649 is too small for the spindle’s outer journal, which is designed for a 1.25" bearing. Grease Seal: The M1102 typically uses a seal with a ~2.25" ID to match the spindle’s seal journal. Hubs with L68149/L44649 bearings (common for 3,500-lb axles) often use a smaller seal, like 1.719" ID x 2.565" OD (e.g., #58846), which won’t fit the M1102’s larger spindle journal. I can fit a brake assembly Dexter 023-112-00 on to the trailer and the military spindle stays. So the next best is a brake drum/hub with a 6 on 5.5 pattern. It appears that a 8-201-5UC3 or 8-201-5UC3-EZ with a grease seal change may work. With a 6 on 5.5 pattern I can use a spacer adapter from 6 on 5.5 to a 5 on 5 wheel and the spacer solves the offset problem with the Jeep 17" wheels on the trailer 12" drums. I cannot find a good source for a 8 on 6.5 to 5 on 5 adapter. What do you think about the grease seal change? Thank you for all your technical advice, Ken

Yes, you will be able to use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200-lb Axles - 12" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-201-5UC3 (if you have an easy lube spindle # 8-201-5UC3-EZ) and then swap out the grease seals for the Dexter Grease Seal # DX72UR as it has the 2.25" ID that your spindle needs, and the 3.376" OD that the hub requires. Now only if we had it in a 5 on 5 bolt pattern like you need. The only company I can find to go from the 6 on 5.5 to a 5 on 5 is Wheel Adapters USA. You should be able to Google "6x5.5 To 5x5 Hubcentric Wheel Adapters / Spacers Use Jeep Wheels On Toyota Tacoma, 4-Runner, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, Lexus GX, HL, 6x139.7 to 5x127 | 106mm Hub bore - 71.5 Wheel Centering Lip | 12x1.5 Studs" and it will pop up. I would check what size the bore is on your wheel. It might not hurt to reach out to the company directly. Wheel adapters are not my specialty as we do not sell them.

From our experience the military trailer you have uses a standard lunette ring so a pintle hook like the Curt #C48005 would work fine.
