Hi Jim!

The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-5UC3-EZ and # 8-201-9UC3-EZ are very similar, but there are a couple differences. You noted the weight capacity differences, and that is due to the bearing combination, which I have listed below:

# 8-201-5UC3-EZ
Inner bearing # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter)
Outer bearing # LM67048 (1.25" inner diameter)
Inner race # 25520
Outer race # LM67010

# 8-201-9UC3-EZ
Inner bearing # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter)
Outer bearing # 15123 (1.25" inner diameter)
Inner race # 25520
Outer race # 15245

So the outer bearings have the same inner diameter, but the outer diameters are slightly different (2.4409" for the # 15123 and 2.3280" for the # LM67048). This makes their capacities are a little different. The only other real difference is the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ comes pre-greased and the # 8-201-5UC3-EZ does not.

What capacity axle are you wanting this for?

@JimP You're very welcome! I would go with the # 8-201-5UC3-EZ as it is designed for a 5,200 pound axle and is quite a bit less expensive at the moment. You will need to grease it (with something like the LubriMatic Prime Guard High Temperature Wheel Bearing Grease - Red - 16-oz Can # L11380), but I think that's worth the lower cost! : ) Let me know if there is anything else I can help with!
