Which Bearing And Seal Kit Is Needed For 2022 Cougar 368MBI Travel Trailer With Dexter 6K Axles?

Updated 03/18/2026 | Published 03/15/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Cougar 368MBI travel trailer. The axle information stickers indicate they are Dexter 6k axles D60 and have the Nev-R-Adjust denotation. Manufacture date is 2/8/2022. They are obviously drum brakes. I want to do a wheel bearing service. Can you please help clarify the exact double lip seals and bearings/races I need by part number? A kit is fine for this service but I also want part numbers/specs for each so I can buy some individual pieces to keep as spares in my roadside kit. Thanks, Mark

Hey there Mark! That's a great idea to stock up on some spare parts. Most people don't have the foresight like that.

You will need either Bearing Kit, 15123/25580 Bearings, GS-2125DL Seal # BK3-110 or Bearing Kit, 15123/ 25580 Bearings, 10-36 Seal # BK3-100 depending on if you have the 2.125" or 2.250" inner diameter seal. You likely have the 2.250" I.D. seal but you'd need to check the part number or measure the seal to verify, unfortunately. The only difference in the kits is the grease seal.

If it's smaller size of 2.125" ID seal then you'd need # BK3-110 which breaks down to Inner Bearing # 25580, Outer Bearing # 15123, Inner Race # 22520, Outer Race # 15245, Grease Seal # GS-2125DL, and Grease Cap # DX99HR (or # RG04-080 if you have EZ-Lube axle).

If it's the more common larger size of 2.250" ID seal then you'd need # BK3-100 which break down to Inner Bearing # 22580, Outer Bearing # 15123, Inner Race # 22520, Outer Race # 15245, Grease Seal # GS-2250DL, and Grease Cap # DX99HR (or # RG04-080 if you have EZ-Lube axle).

Let me know what you find out or if you need anything else! If I were you I'd just grab the 2.250 kit and then double up on grease seals with the other part number just in case you find out you have the other one mid-swap.

Thank you. I confirmed with Dexter that based on my specific axle serial number, I need the 2.125 ID x 3.376 OD double lip seal (Dexter part number 10-10) and these bearings: 15123 and 25580.

Mark, sounds like you got your bases covered. Well done researching components as used in your 6k axle. A quick way in future to ascertain correct parts is when ready to do a bearing/race/seal replacement, clean area where trailer to be worked on, park it, and pull one hub. The components all have numbers for correct ordering. Order your respective kits and your new parts will deliver in couple days, while waiting, pull other hub or hubs, and have ready for new parts to install when delivered. It goes without saying, inspect your hub(s) and brake pads (if applicable) - any abnormal wear, good time to replace. Nothing worse than having a trailer tire pass you going down the highway, and yes the skid marks in your boxers is the least of your worriers. Be safe
