Availability of 6 on 5-1/2 Hub for M1102 Trailer

Updated 05/09/2026 | Published 04/29/2026

Question:

Hello, Sorry if this is a repeat question, however I couldnt find a response to my particular situation. First, I have an M1102 military trailer with OEM axles, brakes drums, etc. Is it possible to change the 8 lug hubb to a 6 on 5.5inch hubb on the OEM brakes and axle? Thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day. Kevin

Hi Kevin; do you have # 25580 inner and # 14125A outer bearings? Assuming you do, the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K you looked at will fit. The outer bearing is a # 15123 which has the same 1.25" inner diameter so it will work with your spindle. This hub has a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and a 12" diameter x 2" wide drum.

What are you using the M1102 for?

Thank you for your response. This project has been sitting I'm the weather for 5 years awaiting this matter. Finally, I can stop wandering the interweb & get this project rolling. Once the hubs are changed, the cargo rack, roof top tent, Mount the tarps & get to the forests! Thank you again?

@KevinH you're welcome. Just make sure you double check those bearings so you know it fits. Sounds like a great setup once you finish your project, be safe out there!

@RobinH For clarification...please forgive me, however I am not sure I explained the goals for my M1102 military trailer. I would like to keep the OEM hydraulic brake drums on this trailer. Is there just a 6 on 5½" hub that work with the original brake hubb? Once again, thank you for your time. Cheers, Kevin

@KevinH like a hub you could put the drum on? That isn't really something you see unless it is larger setups. What size are the brakes?
