Dimensions between weldstops both inside and outside

Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.

Stromberg Carlson's landing gear was designed with safety in mind. The motor, manufactured by Lippert, won't trip circuits or cause problems with the coach's electrical systems. In addition, the IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in the bottle-gas area.

Convenience is also a hallmark of this product. An inner drop leg on each jack makes leveling easy by allowing the jack feet to reach the ground quickly and at varying heights, saving time and thus reducing the draw on the trailer's battery. The cage pins that secure the drop legs can be replaced with spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113 - sold separately) that allow for single-handed operation. Large, rectangular, pivoting footpads are included, but you can use larger, 9-inch-diameter pads (LG-210475 - sold separately) instead if you often camp on soft ground.

This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.

I recently ordered this landing gear through E trailer and the product was received quickly but in shipping it was damaged so I contacted them and the damaged part was quickly replaced, no hassles just good service

by:

I purchased this landing gear kit to replace my hand crank landing gear after it finally gave up the ghost. I had been looking at just purchasing the motor, but then I needed to replace the gear unit too. Getting the complete kit made the installation much easier. From start to finish, it took about four hours to complete. It might have been done Sonner, but I had a couple of recent assigned "Honey-Dos" which pulled me away for a few. Instructions were easy to follow. The only issue I had was trying to determine if the switch could be mounted in a weather exposed (wet) location. Since I couldn't make a determination, I ended up covering it with an all weather outdoor switch cover.

by:

Very easy to install! Seems to be working well so far! Thank you to Candra G for all the help!

by:

Great website and our item arrived much sooner. I was especially impressed with the UPS tracking system on the etrailer website, easy and great looking

by:

What a great company to do business with you guys did everything to insure my satisfaction. Called me back emailed me researched the issues i had .great job thanks everyone at etrailer . Oh i purchased straumberg carlson landing gear jacks for a customers 5th wheel customer is very happy

by:

Everything is good

by:

Customer service is great!
Landing
Gear is quality made and happy with the purchase, took less than 2 hours to remove the old landing gear and install the new. I was thinking it would raise up and down a little faster, but it sure beats hand cranking.

by:

The product I ordered fit my older camper without any modifications. It was easy to install and very pleased. The only drawback was the UPS 3 day shipping which took 7 days and part of the assembly was missing as the box had ripped open. etrailer had no control over this situation but went out of their way to make it right.

by:

Shipped promptly. I read several unfavorable reviews regarding difficulty in telephone communications and time of delivery. However, even though I did experience difficulty in telephone communications, the email line proved to be quite satisfactory, with response in less than 5 hours. The delivery time was very good.

by:

Called in and had some questions on product.

Ordered product, came early and it fit and worked great.

Let me start by saying this review is about the product, not e-trailer. etrailer is great. I love doing business with them. Their prices beat anybody, and the free and FAST shipping is a bonus. Now to the review of the LG-3 landing gear. The pros of this product are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. No cutting, drilling or welding. They fit in the original brackets. I installed them while camping in about 2 hours with simple hand tools. The cons are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. They use the same weak motor, that struggles to lift my trailer. The kit was missing bolts and pins and I had to use my old hardware until I could get back to town to buy new hardware. I wanted to go with the Bulldog 10K system, but wanted something that work with my Lippert remote system. The original system failed. I suspect this one will too. Next time I will go with something heavy enough to do the job. Check out the before and after pics and the pic of what can happen when your jacks fail and you have to resort to using hydraulic jacks to lift your trailer. A $4000.00 repair that could have been much worse.

by:

i had ordered the Stromberg Carlson landing gear to replace the broken set on my 5th wheel. When the package arrived the box was pretty rough and the motor was not in the package. I emailed etrailer late on a Thursday night and they emailed right back and by Friday morning they had already shipped out a replacement. on the following Monday UPS picked up the original and dropped off the replacement package. What an easy company to work with and the customer service is top notch. As for the landing gear set it seams to be better built than what the RV manufacture originally installed. Quality is better and the legs them selves are heavier so i am sure they will do a better job and should last longer than the original set. Very happy with the purchase and using etrailer.

by:

I thought replacing the landing gear would be much harder on my 5th wheel but they when in without a problem and are still working great. The video walks you through the installation step by step. Rick

by:

Box was ripped open I inspected and all parts are there, only problem the cross bar is not long enough. I had to use the old rod.

by:

A perfect replacement for my old landing gear. Very few adjustments needed to make the legs fit perfect with my existing brackets and a little drilling for the bolt holes. Now at least I know I'll be able to unhook from my truck.

by:

I'm typically not one to complain or write a poor review however, E-Trailer has produced very poor customer service and product handling. I called and ordered this landing gear over the phone to ensure with a representative that I was getting the correct part. My concern was the weld stops mounting up to my current brackets. The representative ensured they would fit after reviewing specs. When the legs arrived I was surprised by how poor the packaging was upon opening the makeshift packaging the legs looked like they were used and they were missing several parts. I contacted customer service they offered a $[XX] discount and part replacement. When I went to install the legs, I discovered that they would not fit my brackets and the measurements the representative gave we not accurate. I called customer service again. The end result was I had to purchase another set of legs and wait up to 14 days to get reimbursed for the legs which were the wrong fit. I requested a discount of some sort due to the inconvenience this caused. The supervisor offered expedited shipping and that is all. If I wasn't in a situation in which I needed new legs to repair my 5th wheel, I would have definitely gave my business to another company.

by:

Missing pieces. Not impressed at all.

by:

Before I purchased my Stromberg Carlson Camper Jacks I messaged your company to request information on my project and how I was going to use the jack system. Unfortunately I received no response from your company but purchased the jacks anyway and installed them on my project to complete it.

by:

They work very well, quality product

by:

The motor on my 2002 Carriage Cameo landing gear went bad. This motor is louder than the original one was but it is also faster than the original one. The legs are a couple of inches shorter but not hard to work with. I do most of my own work on my vehicles, so found them easy to install.

by:

Nice direct fit easy install and work w ell

by:

Great!!!’
Landing gear Installation

etrailer customer service... is~2nd to none!

The parts person helped me find the right parts. I installed them myself and one year later they work perfectly.

  • Picking Out Replacement Landing Gear that Uses Stromberg Motor and Gear Box
If you're in a situation where you need new legs, motor, and gear box for your landing gear your best option is to go with an all new set that includes everything with the part # LG-2. This kit has the same motor and gear box as what you referenced.

  • Could Stromberg Landing Gear # LG-2 Fit 2001 Tahoe 28DB
If what you have looks like a Stromberg Carlson then most likely the part # LG-2 would drop right in as this is a very standard setup that can fit in place of most sets of landing gear. The legs of this are 2-1/2 inch square like you have so the mounts would fit in that regard. The distance between your stops though is a little off so you might have to have new ones welded on. The standard dimension is 17-1/2 inches from outside to outside. The crank would end up in the same location as...

  • Replacement Follow Leg For RV Stabilizer Gear
Great question, I do need some more information though. There should be a sticker or stamp somewhere on the legs of the jacks. We need to find out the make and model of the actual unit so we can get the proper one. • How to Select the Correct Replacement Follow Leg for Fifth Wheel Landing Gear
In order to choose the correct replacement follow leg, you will need to know the manufacturer or model number, which should be visible via a sticker or stamp somewhere on the landing gear. The reason for this is there may be slight differences that cause imbalance if the landing gear legs do not match. So if you have Stromberg Carlson models # LG-2 or # LG-4 then the correct replacement follow leg would be # LG-177201. I have added a link to our page with each of our follow legs for you...
