Question:
I have a 2018 Keystone Hideout 308BHDS. The current single motor landing gear just isn’t sufficient, and I plan on adding a second motor/lead leg. My question is the motor in the LG-5 kit. It calls for the LG-142178 which is a 5500rpm motor. The existing motor is a LG-196308 which has a higher weight rating an slightly slower RPM of 5430. Would that make a big difference?

I believe you are referring to the # LG-2 kit as it is the one with the 5,500 lb Motor # LG-142178 with it. Ultimately as long as you aren't exceeding the weight capacity of your landing gear and you have individual switches for each leg you should be just fine. Yes the RPMs are different, but they aren't relying on each other so you just have to pay attention when each leg makes contact with the ground.
If you'd rather go with a matching set I recommend the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 because it has an 8K weight capacity (which should be more than enough for your needs), weld stops that have the standard 15-1/2" inside and 17-1/2" outside measurements, quick-release pins to make dropping the legs quicker, and a control panel with a dual switch so you have a really clean look after everything is installed.
