Question:

the part I purchased, RVLG-HDL, is too large a diameter for the opening that it needs to be ed into. Will the alternative part, LG-119226, fit? I cant locate the OD dimensions in the specifications.

The inner diameter of the Replacement Crank Handle # LG-119226 where it connects to the landing gear is 1/2" while the diameter of the outer sleeve on the landing gear end is 3/4".

Please note that this is designed for use with Stromberg Carlson landing gear # LG-1, # LG-2, # LG-3, # LG-4, or # LG-183708. It can fit with a lot of other brands like Atwood or Lippert but if you don't have this landing gear just let me know what you have and I can see if we have one that is compatible with your landing gear.
