Replacing Flat Plate on Trailer Jack With a Replacement Wheel

Updated 12/02/2025 | Published 11/03/2021

Question:

The jack for the tongue of my trailer has a flat plate pinned to the jack shaft which is 2” diameter. I want to replace the plate with a wheel but can’t find anything like that on your website. Do you have a wheel attachment?

I do have an option for you to replace the bottom plate of your trailer jack with a wheel assembly. The option I have is the Pro Series 6", Detachable Caster w/ Pin for 2" Diameter Jacks - 1,200 lbs # PS1400750340.

This corrosion-resistant, removable caster has fitting for 2" jack tube and is rated at 1,200 lbs. I have attached a picture that shows the dimensions of the caster.

What if my existing plate jack doesn't have any holes for the wheel?

@JerredH It is a weld on RAM similar to this style, and I am told mine cannot be removed. I am assuming I would have to cut off the foot plate and drill holes for a pin wheel to be attached? thx! https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jack/Bulldog/BD151159.html?feed=npn&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=202880537&gbraid=0AAAAAD_vMtlWF42pNjB0EeT2WWIM3yTNm&gclid=Cj0KCQiAubrJBhCbARIsAHIdxD87HYhpjvA5sBEnc7ohqJ5bcsTGaLbZzcMm5leVJf-B00GkfbG86ecaAmhCEALw_wcB
