Most brake controllers hang down under the dash where they hit your knees or clash with modern interiors. This one mounts completely out of sight, just a small box tucked up under the dash so nothing sticks out. The main unit is only 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick, leaving your cab clean and uncluttered. Mount it at any angle using the included adhesive pad or zip ties—the internal 3-axis accelerometer automatically senses direction for proper operation.
Hard-wiring a controller can mean splicing and chasing wires. Here, the custom harness plugs directly into your factory brake control port, so installation takes only minutes. No cutting required, just plug one end into your truck’s existing connector and the other into the Echo unit. It’s also easy to move between tow rigs or trailers since you can simply unplug and go.
The Echo’s proportional system uses an internal 3-axis accelerometer to match trailer braking to how you actually brake. Press lightly on the pedal and the trailer eases in; stomp hard and it responds instantly. It works with electric trailer brakes on trailers with 1 to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies). The result is steady, confident stops that reduce wear on tires and pads.
This controller connects over Bluetooth so you manage everything from your smartphone. Through the OneControl app, you can set max output, adjust sensitivity, apply manual override, and watch a live brake output indicator. The app saves multiple trailer profiles—a big plus if you tow more than one trailer—so your favorite settings are ready next time. Even if Bluetooth drops out, it continues braking safely using your last saved settings.
Troubleshooting is simple with diagnostic LEDs on the main unit showing status at a glance. Built-in reverse polarity and short-circuit protection guard your wiring from damage. Once paired and calibrated, just drive normally—the system handles smooth braking behind the scenes for every trip.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.
