Correct Curt Brake Controller Adapter Harness Plug for 2019 Volkswagen Atlas

I have seen reviews with pictures stating that this connector does NOT fit the 2019 Atlas. The pictures show a much larger Curt connector but it seems that the smaller VW connector housing may fit inside the housing of the Curt connector. The actual blades seem to match actual split connectors. Is that the case?

I checked with Curt and the correct brake controller wiring harness adapter needed to install a Curt trailer brake controller like the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller part # C27JR which is what I recommend on a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas is the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51522.
