It does not work for the Honda Passport Trailsport. The hitch sits behind and above the bumper and there is no where that it can be mounted that would give you access to the plug. I had to use a 90 degree metal plate and then mount the bracket to the side of the hitch.

by:

Does the job and holding up well after regular use. Added a 7 way plug to my kia sorento and needed a solution to mount it. This attached easily to the factory hitch.

I am having a problem with the install of the three Curt trailer components I purchased. I intentionally bought all of the same brand assuming that they would work together. The problem is that the Curt wiring harness (part# C55774) is too long and rigid. When the 7-pin connector is installed in the bracket that comes with it, it measure 5 inches until the black wire protective sleeve bends (to go under the hitch receiver frame).

The no-drill bracket (part# C57202) is supposed to attach the harness bracket to the hitch. But it is only 6.5" long, and the hitch tube is 3" wide. So with the bracket attached to the hitch, there is only 3.5" of space left to mount the harness bracket so that the screw holes line up.

I am disappointed that this is the case, especially as I called etrailer to check that the parts I was ordering would work together.

It looks like I will have to discard C57202 and drill two holes into the bottom of the hitch and mount the harness bracket directly. This is what I wanted to avoid - having to drill holes.

Comments
The 7-way bracket that comes with the wiring harness part # C55774 is designed to be installed with the wiring harness bracket hanging below the no drill bracket part # C57202. Since you are worried about the loose wiring I would recommend using some wire loom such as part # 459075-1 to protect your wiring and zip tie any slack with zip ties part # DW05726-25. I know this is not the option you wanted but I feel it is better than drilling into the hitch.

Works good so far. Just concerned with a hose clamp as a permanent connection

by:

I didn't care for the way this bracket sat on my Curt XD receiver hitch. Because the crossbar on the hitch sits at an angle, so does this plate. I ended up fabricating my own bracket and attaching it to the bumper support.

by:

I had an issue with the clamp on the first one, etrailer sent me a replacement right away and it has worked great and is still holding up just fine a year+ later.

by:

Great product, works as expected, and easy to install thanks to video provided. Gave it 4 stars vs 5 as clamp provided for trailer mounting bracket was too short. This was after confirming size with representative over the phone. Short bracket and long bracket offer the same 4-inch strap to secure onto hitch. My trailer hitch measures 3.5 x 3.5 inches, ended up securing long plate with large tie strap. Also hardware supplied to fasten bracket should be stainless steel but that's an easy upgrade to complete.

Went together without any problems, I pre-assembled the two brackets ( 7-Way Round Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket - Long - C57202 and the Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End - PK12711U) then crawled under and put the clamp around the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" that I bought along with this purchase and snapped in my existing 7 way and it was all set up. Very sturdy, though I was concerned with how stable it would when I purchased it. Turns out it is really solid, very happy with the setup. The hitch is a really beefy, so I'm quite pleased with it as well. I did enlist the help of a friend to get it up into place, which I think was the easiest path. If one had to, you could do it alone, but so much easier with a couple of extra hands. All in all, probably took 2 hours for the complete install.
I had a standard OEM hitch that I had used to attach a 9000 lbs pull capacity winch to pull up trees on my property, consequently, it stretched/hogged out my 5/8" pin hole, so every time I stopped or started with a trailer, it would slap around. Turns out the OEM hitch is rated for 7500 lbs, this Curt Hitch is rated at 16,000, so I should have no future problems. I'm happy with the setup. I expected that Curt would have engineered a better way to attach the 7 way when they designed the Hitch, I expected better from them.

The Curt No-Drill Bracket worked absolutely perfect for my Drawtite hitch on my 2016 Subaru Outback. Super easy installation and the hose clamp worked a lot better and tighter than I expected it to. I would highly recommend this product if you are wanting to mount your wire harness to your hitch!

by:

Needed to replace my trailer connector as my oem was broken and also my oem hitch as well. Mike Lindsay made it happen for me to make sure i could get my connector and proper mount to work.
I applaud etrailers website but most importantly the staff that communicate and share INvaluable guidance to get a product chosen. Good people + good products = good business. Im happy! Thanks!

by:

I was surprised at how sturdy this installation is. etrailer sure helped me out along the way with this installation. Special thanks to Alex J for his help on several occasions to help me get the right hitch and accessories for my new 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy.

by:

Installed on bottom hitch in about 15 min !!

by:

The bracket and hardware were good, however the strap holding the bracket onto the hitch tube would not open. I called for a replacement and spoke with Dru who said He would send a new one out. I was ready to install the two brackets and had to put the project on hold.

Works as expected. Clamp screw slips a bit when starting to tighten. I would have opted for the shorter bracket. This one puts the connector even with hitch receiver.

by:

Nice mount. I added no slip tape to the hitch to help prevent mount from wearing thru the powder coat finish on the hitch. Nice, easy and clean setup.

by:

Good product, good service.

by:

Great product!!

by:

I have installed this on the bottom of the receiver hitch on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan with the 7-pin connector mounted on the bottom side for easier access.

by:

This worked perfectly on my Jeep Wrangl er.

by:

This part was exactly what I was looking for. I knew it would not fit my volvo XC90 perfectly, so Iwanted something that I could cut/bend to make it fit the way I wanted. This part was a great starting point and yielded a very robust mount that is tucked up out of the way.

by:

Great Idea

Works Great

by:

The bracket worked great. Just as advertised. I would not hesitate to order from etrailer again. They are my go to company for any of my towing needs. Keep up the great work!!!

by:

A little fiddley to install, but the end result is good.

by:

Use this bracket for a factory install. It is worth it

Ordered parts for installing a brake controller.
The videos that are part of the web site were a great help in selecting all the needed parts, detailed down to the part numbers that were needed.
I really like the fact that there is a video showing the brake controller installation with my specific vehicle.
Great service !

The Tow Ready Long No-Drill mounting bracket 18136 has been discontinued but the Curt # C57202 that you referenced is essentially the same thing. It will allow you to install a mounting bracket for your vehicle-side connector without having to drill into your trailer hitch receiver.

  • Which No-Drill Bracket to Install # 37185 on Class III Receiver for 2010 Ford F150
You are correct, the Curt Class III receiver you mentioned, part # 13368 does not feature a mounting bracket welded to it. Over the years, we have found that the long bracket, part # C57202 works better with the thicker tubing used on a Class III hitch, while the short bracket you referred to works better on a Class I or II hitch. The long bracket will allow more clearance at the rear for the wiring to clear. The # 37185 includes the bracket that will allow the 7-way adapter to attach...

A four-pole connector is the connector that gets connected to the trailer wiring from the tow vehicle. It is called a 4-pole connector because the connector has 4 poles that carry 4 different tail light circuits. Most people will store the 4-pole connector at the rear of there vehicle near the hitch. Check out the picture I attached. What I would recommend you do is get a 4-pole bracket like our No-Drill Mount Bracket # C57202 and route the 4-pole through that. Using this bracket will...
