Features to know about

Smooth Setup Every Time: Electric Power with Direct Drive

Manually cranking to level a trailer can wear you out fast. This electric landing gear set uses a single-speed motor and direct drive system that lifts smoothly and evenly without stressing the gears. With a total lift of 34-7/8" and a rate of travel at 5-1/2" per minute, setup goes quickly and feels steady from the start. The IP-rated switch won’t spark, so you can mount it safely in sensitive areas and trust it to run reliably every time.

Fast Leveling on Uneven Ground: Adjustable Drop Legs with Cage Pins

Leveling on uneven campsites can take forever if your gear doesn’t reach the ground right away. Each 29-1/2" leg includes a 15" drop leg that adjusts in 1" increments for quick contact with the ground. Cage pins come standard to release each drop leg, cutting down on jacking time. If you prefer even faster operation, spring-loaded pull pins (sold separately) make one-handed setup simple.

Stronger than Factory Gear: Heavy-Duty Steel with 6,500-lb Capacity

Replacing worn or rusted jacks is a big upgrade when you move to something sturdier. This set’s heavy-duty steel legs and corrosion-resistant aluminum gearbox housing handle a combined weight capacity of 6,500 lbs. The solid build gives your trailer a stable feel during loading or camping without bending or flexing like weaker systems.

Ready for Replacements or Upgrades: Standard Weld Stops and Hardware Included

When it’s time to swap out old gear, compatibility makes life easier. This system welds directly onto the frame and matches most standard fifth-wheel landing gear brackets used by other major brands. It includes both jacks, cross shaft (41"–71"), footplates, gearbox, motor, switch, hand crank, and hardware—everything needed for a full replacement without hunting for extra parts.

Keeps Working When Power Doesn’t: Manual Crank Backup

Power outages or dead batteries don’t have to stop you from adjusting your trailer. The included hand crank connects directly so you can raise or lower the landing gear manually if needed. It’s a simple backup that keeps you covered no matter where your setup takes you.

@Larry Glad to hear it's working well for you! What did you install it on?
by:
Let me start by saying this review is about the product, not e-trailer. etrailer is great. I love doing business with them. Their prices beat anybody, and the free and FAST shipping is a bonus. Now to the review of the LG-3 landing gear. The pros of this product are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. No cutting, drilling or welding. They fit in the original brackets. I installed them while camping in about 2 hours with simple hand tools. The cons are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. They use the same weak motor, that struggles to lift my trailer. The kit was missing bolts and pins and I had to use my old hardware until I could get back to town to buy new hardware. I wanted to go with the Bulldog 10K system, but wanted something that work with my Lippert remote system. The original system failed. I suspect this one will too. Next time I will go with something heavy enough to do the job. Check out the before and after pics and the pic of what can happen when your jacks fail and you have to resort to using hydraulic jacks to lift your trailer. A $4000.00 repair that could have been much worse.

So far these are working. I got the higher torque model, which operates at a lower speed. I dont necessarily like the slower speed, but hey, at least they go up and down and the trailer hasnt fallen on my truck again. I am still disappointed that this landing gear is supplied by the manufacturer. It is woefully inadequate. As a side note, it is impossible to raise these legs with the coat hanger they give you for a hand-crank. This thing is ridiculous. That is why I keep a set of bottle jacks on-hand just in case of emergencies, and hope I never have to use them again.

Thanks so much for the follow up. If you do need to use your bottle jacks in an emergency situation, we do recommend to chock your trailer wheels and minimize all trailer movement as much as possible since bottle jacks are less stable than your primary landing gear.

I was replacing a failed landing gear from Atwood that I could no longer get support for… did some measuring and this setup looked like an exact fit… ordered it and it came in and was exactly what I needed!!!
Shipping was fast and installation took a couple hours to remove the old ste and install the new!
So far seems like a great investment.

After a year it is still going strong… it’s on a very heavy mobile office trailer that we use off-site… it doesn’t get used a lot but still every time we need it it’s working perfectly!

With a few minor modifications, I mounted the landing gear on our 1998 5th wheel and all is well. Has worked flawlessly since. Thanks for the fast delivery and great service.

Outstanding product. Installed easily and works flawlessly.

I have a 2008 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 345DBQ. My Lippert Landing gear had broken with age and wear causing my truck and fifth wheel had become one. I was desperate to get the landing gear fixed for a trip in 6 days. Sandy J assisted me on the phone on a SUNDAY afternoon and was able to have the parts on my doorstep by noon on the following Thursday. The installation took me less than two hours and the landing gear works perfectly. It is quiet and operates very smoothly. I recommend etrailer to my family and RVing friends. They saved my vacation!
by:
Arrived on time for our trip! Assembly and installation was seamless
by:
i had ordered the Stromberg Carlson landing gear to replace the broken set on my 5th wheel. When the package arrived the box was pretty rough and the motor was not in the package. I emailed etrailer late on a Thursday night and they emailed right back and by Friday morning they had already shipped out a replacement. on the following Monday UPS picked up the original and dropped off the replacement package. What an easy company to work with and the customer service is top notch. As for the landing gear set it seams to be better built than what the RV manufacture originally installed. Quality is better and the legs them selves are heavier so i am sure they will do a better job and should last longer than the original set. Very happy with the purchase and using etrailer.
by:
I replaced my landing gear with this unit a year ago. It fit perfectly on my 2007 37ft keystone challenger. Easy to install, took about two hours to complete. Not overly powerful motor but as good as original equipment. My trailer weighs 12000#. No issues so far.
by:
This landing gear was perfect for my trailer. They are really strong and can lift just about anything. I will say though, they are very slow. The electric motor isn't all that slow but doing it by hand takes a long time. But that's just a backup anyways.
by:
For what it is it seems ridiculously expensive. Nylon nuts were not the right size, but the hardware store had them.
by:
They work good a little under powerd compared to the original ones if I run them for more then 10 seconds lifting the trailer the fuse burns not sure why but they get the job done
by:
The landing gear that I bought from Etrailer was the exact one I needed. The lady that helped me did a great job. I was not sure of what I needed but she knew the correct parts and the correct size. I am very happy that I bought from this company.
by:
etrailer was extremely helpful finding a replacement for my RV 5th wheel landing gear. I have a '08 Cardinal 3100RK and the RF landing gear failed. The LG-3 was a drop-in replacement so I did not have to use the weld-on frame brackets that come with the package. I had to do a little grinding on the "follow" leg but otherwise it was a simple installation.
by:
Received in a timely manner. Exact fit. The original landing gear on out fifth wheel had gotten very weak and would stall out during the lifting process. The LG-3 lifts our 33 footer with ease.
by:
Fast, free shipping, three days from order to porch. Installed easily was almost a direct replacement for the manual landing gear that was on the trailer. The 6500 pound motor is fast but not very quite. Beats hand cranking any day of the week.
by:
I replaced both landing gear, motor and gear box on my fifth wheel. I was able to install all of it within a few hours with very little assistance. Mandy was very helpful from choosing the right set to keeping me informed on the shipment. I will definitely purchase all my trailer parts from etrailer in the future.
by:
The LG3 system was a direct replacement for my original Atwood system.spacing was correct but I needed to grind about .020 off the top of the existing bracket. The jacks then bolted in perfectly. However the wiring diagram is incorrect for the leads to the motor from the switch. Just reverse the polarity by switching the wires.
The instructions are vague.

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Landing Gear
What I think you are saying is that you need new landing gear for a 1997 5th wheel and the currently installed set is 33-3/4" in length. To determine the correct replacement landing gear for your 5th wheel trailer, you will need to measure the mounting brackets on your trailer from the underside of the top bracket to the top of the lower bracket as shown in the diagram. From there you will be able to choose the amount of lift and weight capacity that will work for you. For the length you...

  • Are Landing Gear Legs for a 5th Wheel Trailer Brand Specific
The most important metric for selecting new landing gear legs for a 5th wheel trailer is the overall length of the outer tube. The two most common measurements are 29-1/2" and 33-1/2". If you select the correct replacement based on the outer tube length that will then most likely ensure that the mounting bracket lines up so no welding is required. If your trailer has outer tubes that are 29-1/2" long then you will want to use part # LG-3 but if your trailer has outer tubes that are 33-1/2"...
