SumoSprings helper springs are great for pickup trucks. Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the truck's weight. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
The innovative 2-piece design of these Rebel springs allows for unlimited suspension travel. This means that there will be more movement in your suspension when you're unloaded or off-roading, which makes your ride smoother and more comfortable.
Each spring has 2 pieces. One piece attaches to the frame of your vehicle. And the other piece attaches to the axle, typically above your existing factory leaf spring. The pieces come together to provide support when you are towing or hauling a heavy load. When you're unloaded, they separate so that they don't restrict the movement of your suspension. The closed-cell urethane springs also act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings expand and compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts, and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.
This kit comes with custom-fit brackets that are designed to easily bolt onto your vehicle.

5,000-lb Capacity. These maintenance-free microcellular urethane springs upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension. Each 2-piece spring connects at top and bottom and provides unlimited suspension travel and movement for a smooth, comfortable ride.I like the Sumo Srings on my Ram thirty five hundred thinking about a pair for my fifth wheel trailer.
We have a Ram 3500, carrying a 5000 lb (plus), extremely tall truck camper. The floor sits ABOVE the side rails of the truck bed. I came to the RV dealer, and of course, they would not let me have it till they inspected the truck. It HAD to be a dually to handle street corners. The inspector saw the air bags that the truck dealer had installed and commented that "You will be a lot better off when you buy some Sumo Springs. After one trip cross country, I ordered Sumo Springs, and have not regretted it since. Stabilizes this super high load on corners, cross winds, and general driving. At night, truckers no longer flash their headlights at us. This is the way to go.
Swapped out a set of air bags for a pair of Sumo Springs. The truck now self-levels when I load my slide in camper or other heavy loads. Truck handles better as it's not floating on two balloons. More stability in turns and cross winds.
Product bolted up as designed. An empty truck ride quality did not change. A loaded truck ride was good and could tell the extra stability they provided.
Easy install. Took me like 30 mins to install. Haven't towed yet...but looking forward to the improvement
Front and rear Sumo Springs installed. Have not had a chance to hit the highway as yet. Locally a very good ride. Thanks to Joanne K. for all of her help.
I installed these front Sumos on my 2023 Ford F53 chassis Class A Tiffin for several reasons. The factory bump stops had fallen out so something needed to be installed. I decided to invest in the Sumos to provide suspension support and get all the benefits of Sumos. I installed them, test drove the coach and am pleased with the results. They help cushion the front end and provide anti roll assistance. They work well with the Konis to soften the natural harshness of leaf springs. I’m very pleased with this addition.
I put a small leveling kit in my 2500hd Silverado. I noticed afterwards towing my excavator or dump trailer I was getting some rear sag when I had my trailers loaded heavy. I considered doing air bags for the rear. Instead I installed the sumo springs. I installed them in about an hour. Very happy with them. No noticeable difference in ride quality while empty. And they keep my truck level when I’m hauling my trailers. 5 stars!
These springs made a big difference in the handling of my Newmar Baystar 31' motorhome. Much improved ride compared to the factory suspension.
I put front sumos on my 35’ class A MH in 23. (22k F53 chassis). I noticed reduced front sway and better tracking. Especially improved when semis pass. I then put rear sumos on along with a 1-3/4 sway bar on the rear this year,24. Improved handling and ride all around. Nothing more to do. All for under $[XX].
Upon arrival I noted the Sumo Springs parts were well made and came with excellent installation instructions. I'm installing the springs to mitigate rear squatting of my 2015 GMC 2500HD 4x4 Danali when pulling our 5th Wheel Camper.
During installation two issues were identified.
1) the (2) top plates required some rehemming as the (2) center holes on each plate would not line up with top spring mounting plate holes allowing easy bolt up.
2) recommend manufacturer look at the passenger side rear bottom plate J-hook location as it interferes with the emergency brake cable bracket mounting bolt location and barely clears rear shock absorber.
Bottom line, regardless of good installation instructions be prepared to use your mechanical skills to complete job.
Installed front first and then took a trip on a curvy mountain road. I found they made a significant change in the ride and the sway. Very good update to a 2019 Ford F53 25000 chasis.
I haven't had the springs under load, yet. I'm sure they'll perform as expected. I was not able to adjust the driver's side springs so that they align correctly. (see pic). The bottom spring does go into the top spring, but it's off enough that over time it will be an issue. Passenger side is spot-on! I have a 2024 F350 Tremor
The product did a good job in reducing body roll in the 2025 Winnebago View 24t. The instructions were less than helpful - they need to be rewritten for better clarity, orientation, and specificity for the Mercedes 2023 Sprinter 3500 XD AWD. I had considered Timberens, but I think these will do a better job in the long run.
I replaced both the front and rear helper springs. The tolerances on the front were really tight - doable but really tight. Don't have any suggestions for getting the springs bolted on other than to be patient, it's a tight fit and smaller hands would have helped, but no such luck - it just took patience. No big surprises, basically remove and replace - just be cautious on raising and lowering the front end. Wheel blocks and frame supports are mandatory for safety.
As far as the rear helper springs, the designers planned for the potential rerouting of lines on the left side of the coach quite nicely. Takes some time, DON'T lock tite anything until installation is complete, run around the block a couple of times, and readjusted for fit. The factory frame bumpers can be removed very easily with a pair of channel locks, rather than messing around with screwdrivers and prybars. Takes all of two seconds and the bumpers were removed without damaging the bracket.
Communications with etrailer were great, probably overthought the project a bit but the representatives were great in keeping my thoughts corralled. The installation took longer than I expected but it was great fun, so who really minds additional time to do the job right.
I have a 28-foot-long class A motorhome on a Ford F53 Chassis. The handling of the vehicle at any speed above 50 mph is terrible. The vehicle wanders all over; very difficult to keep the vehicle between the lane marker lines. The SumoSprings, installed front and rear, did not solve this problem. Money would have been better spent elsewhere!
they were a great investment for our motorhome. Swaying now is very little and it has to be very windy for me to notice. I will never own another motorhome without sumo springs. I have a forest river fr3 30ds 2021. Easy to install yourself.
We have a 2009 build F53 chassis on our 2010 Windsport 32A. I ordered these Sumo springs for the front axle. Hated how bad our coach dashboard would shake and rattle when going over bridge transitions, potholes, and concrete roadway section breaks. Took about an hour and were easy to install alone. Couldn't believe how much these helped the front axle. Worked so well I recently bought a set for the rear axle also. Those are a bit harder to install due to having to drill holes in frame rails to mount the upper bracket and glad I had friend to assist me. Would have only taken a little longer without the help but still easy to do by basic mechanic skills. With having both now we can certainly tell the difference and wished I had bought them sooner.
The Sumo mount had to be slightly modified on the drivers side (removed a 1/2" by 1/2" chunk of the plate) with a grinder to get it to fit on my 2022 f350 4x4. I contacted the manufacturer prior to making the modification. They did not have an issue. The Sumo reduced truck squat (approx 3/4") allowing the truck to ride level with a trailer (8k hitch mount and 17k gooseneck). When you hit a pothole, the impact felt in the truck was jarring and caused the truck to become unstable. The Sumo eliminated this problem. I chose the blue over the yellow after watching a video on etrailer about ride comfort. I added front Sumos after I installed the rear Sumos. The rear provided the a more noticeable improvement. I chose Sumos over air bags because they eliminated air leak maintenance and air pressure adjustments depending on the load.
The work great! Was going to go with the Air-Ride air bags in the front but folks had noted that the bags are strained when the leveling pulls the front wheels up to the point of coming off the ground. Glad we went with these. The person I put this on for is Handicap (or Handicapable as she says!) and these do not require air or making sure the pressure(s) are correct and holding.
It was a pain in the butttt get the original jounce bumper off the drivers side, but we muscled through it!! Thanks, Amy, for your help in ordering!! v
These helper springs made an amazing difference in the stability and ride comfort in our coach. Improved cornering and bounce control were immediately apparent. Plus, crosswind driving is much improved. The split design makes leveling easy as I typically raise the front of the coach rather than the rear. Installation is a lot of work, but can be done yourself with the right equipment. Very pleased.
The front Sumo Springs made a major difference in the stability of my Winnebago motorhome. It handles the bumps much better without major jarring of the passengers and dampens the side to side motion in turns and under crosswinds.
Love these. Were easy to install and work great. No complaints. Maintains ride height even with 10,000lbs on the trailer. “F-250 with gooseneck” for reference.
Definitely helped keep my RV more stable on the uneven secondary roads and the push from big rigs as they pass by
