Dimensions of roller-style guide-on

Adjustable boat guides can be fine-tuned to work with your boat and your trailer. The galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the rollers correctly matches the width of your boat. The rubber roller guides help to center your boat during loading and to hold the boat during transport.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

  • How Much Can CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons be Adjusted?
The CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27610 measure 17-1/2 inches horizontally. It mounts on 3 inch frames and roughly 3 inches of it is a portion which cannot be adjusted to so you will have approximately 11-1/2 inches that you will be able to adjust the guide-ons. I've added links to video reviews of this product for you to take a look at.

  • Will the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons Fit an EZ Loader Boat Trailer with 4 Inch Tall Frame
Yes, the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons part # CE27610 will fit your EZ Loader boat trailer. The brackets work with trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall so your 1-1/2" wide x 4" tall frame will not be an issue. I have attached a sample install video for you as well.

We have exactly what you're looking for. You can use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27646 (black) or # CE27640 (white). Since your frame is 5" tall you will also need the Extra-Long U-Bolt Kit # CE11416.

  • How To Fit CE Smith Roller Style Guide-Ons To Wide I-beam on Boat Trailer
I do have an option for you but you are correct about the hardware that comes with the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27610 not fitting your I-beam that is 5-1/2" tall and 3-1/2" wide. However, you can still use the guide-ons with CE Smith I-Beam Clamps part # CE27682A to fit your I-beam. The other options for guide-on do not come with hardware to fit the i-beam either so you would need to use the clamps. They fit I-Beams with width of 2-1/2" to 4-1/2". I have...

  • Possible Guide Upgrade for CE Smith 65" Guide Ons To Prevent Bending
The guide 65” poles/markers on the CE Smith # CE27637 Guide Ons are only meant as markers to show you where the trailer is. While they can endure some pressure in relation to a straight on approach, off angle pressure which can occur with water currents, high wind, and off angle approaches, can cause damage to the guide poles and/or brackets. The leverage exerted by the long poles can cause the poles or brackets to bend. In a way this is good as that much leverage would otherwise bend...

  • Options for a Roller Style Guide-On for a Pontoon Boat
Though we do not have an option that would have a perfect 90 degree angle, I may still have something that would work. The CE Smith # CE27610 is a little smaller and typically installed on the outside of a trailer frame, but can be used however needed. Where the # CE27672 you have installed are coming from the center of the trailer frame facing out, this would install towards the edge of the frame, for the lack of a better term, and point inwards. The problem is the U-Bolts that are holding...

Sounds like you are referring to guide on rollers like the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27610. • Does the Entire Roller of the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610 Have to Touch the Boat
It's perfectly okay if the entire roller of the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610 does not touch the side of the boat. 1/2 inch of clearance on either side between the boat hull and the rollers would be a great amount of clearance.

You don't need much clearance at all, maybe a few inches for the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27610. On a pontoon trailer you can absolutely use roller guides on the sides like the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 21" Tall - 1 Pair # CE27610. The more common use for a pontoon trailer is the CE Smith Roller Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers - 24" Long - 1 Pair # CE27672 which are designed for the inside of the pontoons to center the boat on the trailer and guide you onto the bunk boards. • Can Roller Style Guide-Ons be Mounted so they Touch or Come Close to Touching the Boat
You are correct that the roller style guide-ons # CE27610 are not meant to support weight. But the boat brushing up against them is to be expected and they will work fine for that. A little bit of space like you said will help to make sure the boat isn't putting too much pressure on the guide-ons.

The CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers - Self Centering # CE29505 is a replacement roller for a keel roller assembly. This self-centering roller fits a 12" wide bracket with a 5/8" shaft. In order to use this on your boat trailer you would need to install a keel roller. You are correct in thinking it is not a good idea to attach anything to the trailer axle. Based on the crossmembers and what is already attached to them, I would also not recommend installing a keel roller. Your best...

  • How Close to the Boat Should CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons Be to a Boat on a Trailer
You will want the boat to be close to touching the rollers on the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610. Since the guide-ons are not meant to support weight you will want to place them so that they are fairly close to the boat but not too far. This is because the guide-ons are meant to help you line up the boat with the trailer better than if they weren't present. If the guide-ons are too far apart it gets harder to determine where the center point between them is. Other than that there...

  • Guide-Ons for a Pontoon Boat and Trailer
We have a couple of great options for pontoon boat guide-ons. First, if you want to go with a roller-style we have # CE27672. The rubber rollers are designed so that they won't scratch the boat. If you like the bunk style we have # CE27671. The bunks on this set will have a bit more surface area than the rollers but eventually would will need to replace the carpet on the bunks.
