Replacement Landing Gear for Fleetwood Trailer
Published 08/22/2018 >
Question:
I bent my landing gear and trying to replace. Not sure of the mfg but thinking Atwood. The gear is weld on bracket with bolt on legs. The measurement from the bottom of the top bracket to the bottom of the bottom bracket is 17.5. Which landing gear should I use as a replacement without re welding the brackets?

The Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-3 referenced in your question features a standard weld stop dimension of 17-1/2 inches from outside to outside on the weld stops.
You mentioned that you took your 17-1/2 inch measurement from the bottom of the top weld stop to the bottom of the bottom weld stop. If you actually took this measurement from the top of the top weld stop to the bottom of the bottom weld stop, then this system will bolt up perfectly to your existing brackets. The distance between the weld stops on your current system should be 15-1/2 inches.
If you do have slightly different measurements for your brackets then your only option is likely to remove the brackets and weld the new ones on that come with this landing gear system.
