Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut

Today we're going to review part number AM90049. This is the Americana 1/2 inch by 20 trailer wheel lug nut with the chrome-plated finish. The 1/2 inch by 20 designates the size of bolt that this will fit on; 1/2 inch is the diameter and the thread 20 means 20 threads per inch. Usually on most lug nuts they will be stamped. If you see on this one, it'll say 1/2 inch by 20 to let you know what size this is. This also has the standard 60-degree cone you can see here that will fit the 60-degree taper of the wheel you put it on.

It is a chrome-plated finish for durability and corrosion resistance. To give you a measurement on this; overall length of this lug nut is 1-3/4 inches and the hex head size or socket size you would need to use on this is 3/4 of an inch. I happen to have a deep-well 3/4 inch socket here, you can see it fits perfectly right on there. Just wanted to show you on your trailer wheel, most trailer wheels will just have a standard open-end small lug nut. This longer lug nut with the closed end you could put on there. It gives you a little bit longer reach, also a nicer finish, but the main advantage of using the longer lug nut is lots of times people will change from a steel wheel to an aluminum nice wheel and the aluminum wheels usually will have a deeper middle to where your lug nuts are so instead of having a shorter lug nut like this on it you need a longer lug nut so you can access it with your socket.

These longer lug nuts like this will work a lot better in the aluminum designed wheels. That should do it for the review on part number AM90049. This is the Americana 1/2 inch by 20 trailer wheel lug nut with the chrome-plated finish. .

There lug nuts. They were longer then I thought they would be, but they look good. They look much better then the old acorn nuts that were on before.

I couldn't agree more! I'd almost say that they look swanky!

by:

Ordered the rims and lug nuts. They were on backorder but it was okay patience
was required. They must be a popular rim. Put the tires and rim on September 2nd. They look great my wife agrees. Will send photos before and after. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. They came all the way from Missouri. Cool

I agree, they look great, John! When's the next lake trip?

William was a great help in obtaining the proper desired lug nuts. One piece design, and excellent chrome appearance make these the greatest replacement lug nuts for our travel camper. No more damaged CAPS over steel lug nuts will ever need replacing.
Thanks again to William with all his assistance on my order. KUDOS !

I love them I have a Bass tracker boat trailer that have chrome wheels at one point I thought I was just wasting my money because the wheels I have on it looks so good in Chrome but when I received the wheels from you all I was like a kid in a candy store I was so happy with them it makes the trailer look so much different and better I really love them thank you all for the quality of the wheels.

Looks perfect! Glad it was a good experience for you. And I can't quite tell...that's not an RV trailer, is it?

by:

I am sure e trailer has no control over tracking from uses. I am sure everyone are doing their best. I have no complaints with e-trailer they are on top of their orders and the customer service is very helpful.

by:

Arrived quickly. Longer shaft made attachment and torquing easy. Much better quality than OEM on my trailer.

by:

Little bit longer shaft on these lug nuts require a deep socket to ensure that the nuts are fully seated which gives maximum torque in tightening them down. One piece chrome steel is far better than the less expensive nuts that have a crimped on plated cover that can deform if not using a 6 point socket or one that is worn and has a bad fit.

by:

Expensive, but cover all the threads.
Perfect
for aluminum rims where the lugs are recessed into a machined area.
Have a 3/4" thin wall 6 point deep socket handy.
All 20 fit like a glove, no imperfections, and look like they'll last.
5 star except at $4 a pop I have $80 in lug nuts!!!

Holding up perfectly. Has it been a year? Seems like 4 months. Good buy.

by:

I built my" tool shed" on a Triton aluminum trailer. I wanted doors on three sides. I do a lot of volunteer work at a Bible camp and it involves hauling my tools to the job. The trailer had 12x 4 inch wheels and I wanted something I more substantial to carry the load. I ordered the wheels and tires from etrailer. They came on time and we're exactly what I wanted. I have purchased other items from etrailer, and highly recommend this company

by:

I bought these closed end lug nuts to replace the old worn out open end ones on my EZ Loader Boat Trailer. These should protect the studs better and look a lot nicer. The fit was perfect 1/2-20 for my axle. These axle hubs were rebuilt by me and changed from oil hubs to grease hubs with new bearings, seals and Brake Buddies obtained from etrailer.com. I also purchased the nice aluminum wheels and upgraded Load Range D Kenda Karrier tires, 175/80R-13 already mounted from etrailer. I thought the price was very fair and I didn't have to mount the new tires on the ugly original galvanized wheels. Great customer service as always and the parts are good quality. Ignore the brown haze on the wheels, it is just a reflection. The wheels are spotless and shiny!

Perfect, no issues at all and they look nice and have protected the studs better than the small open ended lug nuts.

by:

Lugs nuts... Right price, right size.

by:

Lugnuts holding up well.

by:

The tire and wheels are exactly what I ordered and at a very reasonable price. They were shipped fairly quick. I'm very pleased with my order

by:

Perfect fit and upgrade to our new purchase couldn't be happier and quick shipping

by:

These solid wheel nuts fit my trailer perfectly. No more outer shell separating from the nut itself, making it difficult to remove the nut from the lug. All good now.

by:

This company does exactly what they say and communicates along the way. Not sure what else you could ask for!

by:

These wheels(rims) were exactly what we we were looking for and we think this is a significant upgrade to our 2008 Jayco JayFlight G2 travel trailer over the original, somewhat worn old wagon wheel style rims that came with the trailer. The service from etrailer is just as important to this review as the wheels however.
We had a problem with one of the HiRun tires installed 5 yrs ago while we were on the road from North Carolina to Delaware. Upon closer inspection, and not being able to find DOT Codes, we decided to purchase new american made tires while on the road.
After sourcing the tires here near the beach in Delaware, I called etrailer and wound Talking to Tommy C. On Monday morning I ordered the four rims 4 center caps and 24 Lug nuts, and on WED.(!!!Missouri to Delaware in less than 48hours) they were at the tire dealers and ready to have the tires mounted on them. Friday on our way to the next stop we stop by the tire dealer, get the closest thing to a Pit-stop off with the old - on with the new, and up the road. Excellent Products with Outstanding Service!!!!

by:

Look great and work just as well.

by:

I ordered 22 lug nut and received 21.... the center caps plastic covers are cheep 3 broke .... ears jest fell rite off. The stainless steel part is nice

Oh my goodness! We will reach out so that we can replace the missing and broken lug nuts for you. Keep an ear to your email.

by:

These lug nuts really improved the looks over the smaller acorn type that my trailer came with. I like how the threads are not exposed anymore. I also found that it is very easy to scratch up your rims around the lug nuts with the lug wrench when you have the acorn nuts. These are much longer and the lug wrench does not even come close to rims anymore. They shine up nicely too. Nice way to upgrade the wheel area of your trailer.

by:

These are very nice looking lug nuts, look great with new wheels I got from e-trailer

  • Difference Between the Higher and Lower Priced Trailer Lug Nuts
The more expensive lug nuts like the part # KALN1375S and # LHLR103 are made of stainless steel and the lower priced ones like # AM90049 are chrome plated. Stainless steel does not rust or corrode so it's the best choice. Chrome plated lugs will eventually rust which normally manifests as the sockets stop fitting the lugs properly as the corrosion causes the lugs to "swell" and make them hard to deal with and eventually cause failure. If at all possible the stainless options are the way to go.

  • Looking For One-Piece Lug Nuts For 2020 Rockwood Ultralite 5th Wheel With Dexter Axles
Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. I can certainly point you in the right direction, but I do not have a way to look up your 5th wheel to know the exact lug nut size. It sounds like you are currently using the 2-piece covered lug nuts and to be honest, I hate those things. The covers are constantly breaking or coming loose. A one-piece lug nut is definitely the way to go. The lugs on your 5th wheel are probably either 1/2", 9/16", or maybe even 5/8". Please do confirm your stud size...

  • Do You Carry the Lug Nuts and Hub for the 15" Camo Mod Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern?

The hub would depend on your axle capacity, if your axle capacity is 5,200 to 6K you will want the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. Then for lug nuts you will want the Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # AM90049. Were you hoping for Camo ones?...

  • Determining Lug Nut Size for Sendel Trailer Wheel
It is likely that you will need a lug nut like the Americana # AM90049 that threads onto 1/2"-20 lug bolts. That being said, the wheel itself does not determine the necessary lug nut size. The best way to determine the correct lug nut is to remove one and take it to your local hardware store. They should have a series of bolt that you can test fit the nut on to determine the correct thread pitch and diameter. I have attached a review of the wheel and lug nut for your reference.
